  1. Looks like some micro Awlful Romeo
  2. Testors rebox of Italeri Diablo. Any day now a Holy Grail should be arriving.
  3. gone, gone, goneski... I already gave you the power plant, and the model, I am not sure I can hint anymore without just giving it away. I can tell you this at one time the chassis builder and car builder were at opposite US costs.
  4. Yeah, it's not any of those. Think man, think. I will tell only after you've cracked.
  5. I am not sure, you'd have to ask the slot car guys, but I suspect it's a durablity issue. Slots get knocked around alot and I suspect Tamiya didn't want the clear falling out. So they made sure it was going to fall out.
  6. The often didn't run them on rear... and this car in particular didn't run them on the front either, but as I recall, having this kit, too, it is an old slot car kit and they are molded in the wheel so you don't have much option. I agree, awesome job on the most dominate sports car ever built. BTW that is what has stopped me from build any of the several old slot 962s I have: dealing with the clear already attached to the body. They didn't typically tape the light covers
  7. no it is just superglue "crazing" either it is old superglue or too much moisture in the air.
  8. Um, nope, not related to Ford. Related to DP and GTPs and uses a famous well-known sports car moniker, 962, which I am not sure how they got away with that either because it has very little to do with Porsche.
  9. It is! The chassis, which is not built by the car builder either is also American, and well known one at that.
  10. depends on how warped. Hot water and trying to bend them back into place works to a degree.
  11. Yeah, but it's not Mazda.
  12. This one still hasn't been ided.
  13. FWIW, most shows and contests that I have been involved in has been particapant judged. However, the few where I have actaully have been a judge it has always been something that standands out in being unique. Personally I enjoy well done and depth of detail. A lot of detail poorly executed doesn't go far with me, neither does a outstanding paint job on an otherwise OOB kit, usually. That being said, what I have voted for and often trully in deserve of a gold, first or what have you hasn't always be the winner. I have been to a couple of contests where it was clearly judged in favor of the members of the club putting on the show - needless to say they lost a bunch of participants who would never go back. I am not sure how it works out, but sometimes you can say yes, that was trully best of show or catagory, other times you look and wonder what people were thinking. Clearly some shows are bias, and some shows are just good shows.
  14. I don't know, An AN-225 Mriya MTOW is 1.3 million pounds.
  15. Well it wasn't exactly a regular Porsche, but a modified 935, which was basically a factory race car to begain wiht. It's official designation 935/78 for the one year it raced 1978. The fastest car at Le Mans at an absolute of 240 mph rivaling the 917.
  16. there are ways to cheat and cheaper stuff that is more headach than it's worth. So You'll need a RX aka card TX aka modem And router of a good namebrand quality with security service so no one else jumps on your signal. now the system will kind of work without the router but it's a cheat and is more trouble than it's worth. But for what you will spend for a decent wireless setup you could have comcast for a good while longer before it will pay off. I am not sure what your plan was, but DSL can't touch Comcast price all things considered. We do get a discount for having TV, and we do not have a land-line so it works out $25 cheaper a month than DSL, plus the service is better. But let me know if you need any help as I have run a Trendnet wireless before.
  17. Revell Hot Rod Classic 57 Nomad and 56 Chevy.
  18. You can get them out of the Japanese dist. Hiroboy, HLJ ect. for about $109.00 USD
  19. Yeah, it takes a lot of system to run GTR2, it is supposed to be the best sim out there. It's the best I have played. I used to play Sports Car GT, which was cutting edge when it came out. Forza is more of an Arcade game than a racing sim.
  20. yeah I answered that a while back... that would have been my quote, "It ran as good as it looked."
  21. I agree F-1 is king. It is more like $100 million to develope a car, $10 million just to participate in ONE race, Michael Schummacher was the highest paid athlete in the world - probabaly $100 million a year before any endorsments (Ferrari aint saying)(last year alone he gave over $100 million to charities). The crew for one team is in excess of 80 people at the track alone and 10 times that the stay "home". It takes six weeks to build a single cylinder head, and the equipment taken to the track fills 6 Semis - and they race some the best tracks in the world. BTW a F-1, by FIA regulations, burns pump gas. The 24 hrs of Le Mans is the most watched sporting even in the world viewed by 1.3 Billion with a B people from 63 countries. Not even the Superbowl can touch those stats. The Rolex, ALMS and SCCA are the fastest growing forms of motorsports in this country, and the ALMS series was, last year, was one of the most interesting to watch, and like F-1, it came down to the last race to crown one of 3 drivers Champion. While AFAIK NASCAR peaked a few years ago and has been declining ever since. At least SPEED has recongnized that and has broadcasted more road racing, most of the 24hrs at Daytona, most of the 16hrs at Sebring, and most of the 24hrs of Le Mans. I even enjoy Oz's V8 Supercars, which is basically their version of NASCAR, only with state of the art cars on road courses. Although I would like to see more than just Febuary Highlights, same with DTM: more than Feb. Highlights And you can't compare Spa with any track NASCAR races on. I guess I just don't "get it." I am not even sure why someone would want to strap themself into 50 year-old technology (otherwise known as a 3500 # deathtrap) and go 200mph 2 inches from a cement wall? I wish someone could explain it so that I could understand it because I don't get it. I even tried to watch it, tired to understand it, but to no avail, I just don't get it. I tried at least, which is more than I can say of may NASCAR fans. There was some discussion of another International SAT racing channel that may get a crack at picking up F-1. PS Spa is one of my Favorite tracks in GTR-2.
  22. That was funny.... Darin the Cobra is coming along nicely. donno if I will go that far, but I do want to do another one with doors and opening trunk. So I will be interested to see how you tackle the trunk. I would like to find a SOHC motor for the next one.
  23. yeah been around in modeling for a long time. It had been surpassed by better tapes like Tamiya, liquid mask, BMF and other forms. I was never real fond of it becuase it had limited stick and fell off easily. It's not the future but the past. I think I still have a roll of it that I probably would have just given to you....
  24. The Rolex DPs and GTs that ran just before them wasn't bad either.
  25. Iwata HP-XX Plus XX = whatever style cup you like, but the HP plus has Teflon for solvent paints (not recommended with the Eclipse) The Plus series is not as common as the Eclipse so I have to go to a art supply store for HP - Plus stuff.
