  1. Yup Ford will be up on top of their game again in a few years while GM and Chrysler are floundering around with White House.
  2. Yeah, well that is evident. Chrysler is completely lost GM is terrible misguided And who couldn't see this coming? Everyone with half a brain figured it out six months ago.
  3. If they did the diesels. One of the big 3 will figure out that the moderen diesel isn't all that bad. I'd drive one. Um lets seem... who wont LeMans for the last several years. What was their nearest competitor? Chrysler needs them all they have no small cars. They need to start somewhere because they are nowhere. Chrysler really seems to be lost in the woods.
  4. +1 Also agree. I was unfortuante enough to own a Dodge once. The absolute worst POS I eveR drove. Never will even consider looking at a Chrysler product again: no way no how. I wouldn't by Chrysler if they were the last car maker on the planet. I work for a warranty/insuracne company and they have the highest frequencey of mechanical break downs of any other make @ 57% major mechanical break downs. Everyone says how horrible VW is, but they are in the teens within a couple percentage points of Honda and Toyota. Chrysler is the one that is horrible, twice that of Ford. GM is better than Chrysler but tagging along not that far behind. As far as domistics go Ford is statiscally the most reliable.
  5. I agree, if they had they would already been able to upright themselves and be on the road to recovery. Now they are just on the road to further disaster.
  6. There is wierd stuff going on with the domestic auto industry. Three weeks ago Fiat said that they were no long interested pursuing a partnership with Chrysler becaue of the UAW labor rates were too high for them. Next thing we know Fiat and Chrysler are going to ink a deal, a day later they Chrysler is filing for Chapter 11. On a side note Mercedes said that they are loosing money and blame it on the 26% of Chrysler they still hold. Fiat, already said they were not interested in putting anything into Chrysler. Fiat just wants a cheap outlet to sell their small cars. Now for some real s***! As part of the restructuring of GM there will be at least one Government rep on the board of directors at GM buy Aug 2009. GM is walking down the isle with the devil, doen't any remember with the UK took over their auto industry. It was a disaster that they never completely recovered from. GM is so screwed. Haven't they learned from their diesel abortion in the 1980s? It's just bad bad bad news for Chrysler and GM who are in bed with the Whitehouse now, and (especailly GM) destined to have a litter of green garbage offspring, which will be the ultimate death of GM. What are they going to do, build Volts? With a range of 40miles and doesn't pass NTSB safty, who are they going to sell them to? Tessla is already light-years ahead of GM on that front. Not to mention nobody talks about how distructive a batter plant is to the enviroment. Hydrogen technology is at least 20 years away from being practical. It still takes some kind of energy to generate Hydrogen and the infrastructure for it doesn't exisit. Those guys in Washington are in dream land. There is a technology that is proven, reliable, cheap, and can be renewable but they don't even discuss, but it is the bridge from here to the future, whatever that maybe in reguards to the next generation of relistic automobiles. The only one that has even a remote chance of coming out of this okay is Ford because they had the smarts enough to not get into bed with the growing evil empire.
  7. Well if they don't find buyers for Saturn and Saab they will get the axe next, however GM is more hopefull someone will buy them. And there is ZERO reason to keep Hummer around.
  8. not exactly experiemental. The 928 was a factory gag gift for Dr Porsche's b-day.
  9. I donno, I have given a few sales dudes some dirty laundry before, espeically when they tell ya it's okay to drive like you stole it. I remember when we got back from the Mazdaspeed 6 test drive the sales guy was speachless (which is good) and white as a ghost. I serously was considering one too. I was on a Mustang V6 with a Pony Package. It felt good driving one, and I drove several for extended test drives. The GT V8 was nice, but I was having a hard time justifying that much more for something that was probably just going to get me into trouble. So, the V6 to seemed like more bang for the buck, especially with a manual. I still consider it off and on.
  10. Yeah, I was just reading that myself. I am a Porsche purist... but what can you do. I still have a hard time beliving the SUV double their sales. However, this really wasn't the first four door car out of the Porsche factory.
  11. I guess we wait and see. I don't have a lot of confidence that the folks at GM or the White House will do the right thing, when it comes to GM's future. Buick is too strong. Belive it or not, Buick has the highest reliablity and intial quality for GM and better global sales than Caddy.
  12. I am just saying what the new guy said a few weeks ago. He said it was not viable to have a car maker in this climate to make a car you cannot sell globally... and Caddy is not something they sell globablly infact the just pulled all their European Caddy dealers. Yeah, they pretty much already said they were going to rebadge the viable Pontiac line under Chevy.
  13. Actually Cadi will probably also go. The new CEO said in today's market you cannot have a car you can't sell globally and you can't sell Cadi anywhere but here. However, Buick is huge in China so Buick is very unlikely to go. Saturn is done unless someone picks it up which there has been talks about that. Hummer is probably also done. SAAB is done Cadi is likely done Not withstanding Buick is GM's halmark of quality.
  14. Personally, that is way down my list. Yeah, I will try to find enough pix to get the chassis colors in the relm of correct, but as far as body colors being spot on - not so much. I also tend to paint all the parts entirely, mainly because I airbrush 99% of everything and only brush paint typically details where two opposing colors are on the same part. A black part with a silver strap for example. I will sometimes use the instructions as a guide. They are not always complete or accurate. Photos can be misleading also. A little color temp one way or another, lighting, enviroment can signifcantly change the hue and tone of a color. They almost never look the same in real as the photos. On a historical race I will try to get close, and if it looks right it is right. I have found sometimes even the authentic colors just don't look right on some models due to scaling. Or sometimes with a very famous car photo were we don't get to see the car in the real we only have that photo to go off of, which isn't always accurate. Ferrari red is a good one for always looking way orange in pix and dark deeper red in real life. But whatever, I don't build anything to please anyone but myself any more.
  15. Go Brumos, since Ferrari sucks at F1 this year... Brumos had better keep it going. And of course GO ya Stink'n lizards.
  16. That's if they can find the keys and keep them running. They have already run at Daytona, or attempted to. It also didn't pass scrutineering and made them take off a bunch of illegal aero bits. Their debut was less than shinning. One car failed to leave the grid for a long time, wouldn't start. Eventually, both cars had catastrophic engine failures, which is unusual for BMW. Rahal was funny, and said, "the lost oil pressure." The in car audio sounded like they lost the engine, which would explain the loss of oil pressure. I was wicked nasty.
  17. I haven't heard that, but ProDrive is reconsidering F1 and Lola is talking about a return to F1, and of course we have the US F1 team that is in for sure.
  18. I do, I have been told it's just clear lacquer.
  19. that conversion kit can also be found a www.stradasports.com http://www.stradasportsstore.com/shop-bin/...oductsearch.cgi
  20. they have to be on a breakthrough race soon. Massa was running strong up as high as 3rd before the car just quite running. so it's been a rough year for Ferrari, could be rougher for LH and Mclaren, as they face FIA on the 29th hearing date, the team mechanics feel like they been snubbed by LH and are POed, Ron Denise quit probably because whatever the FIA is going do about LH lying that altered the results of a race and gave a team an undeserving penalty could be harsh. LH is already on probation and the FIA said they were not done with him yet and would likely endure futher sanctions - which could be a sever as LH being suspended. Not that he is any better position to defend his world title as Ferrari is to get the world title.
  21. Nice looking 962C.
  22. I know some resin kit or conversions exist, but... a plastic Porsche 550 RS kit a plastic Bentely Speed 8 a plastic Peugeot 908 a Pangini Zonda
  23. some had stand off wings. and there was a high wing and low wing version. The Jager car ran a 12 hrs of Spa I think
