  1. I will definitely order some of the BMF and Molotow pens but I'm not always patient LOL so I tried some foil tape on an old build to see how it comes out, and its wasn't bad but kind of hard to cut but I like tinkering anyway... I did the door and fender so far....
  2. Impressive, I would love to see how you did that. Next paycheck I think I'll order some of the BMF.
  3. Wow that stuff is expensive..... I will check out the Bare Metal Foil and Molotow "Liquid Chrome" ink markers. I'm really trying to step up my game on these kits.
  4. Ok here is my 3rd comparison question, I've always painted all my chrome trim and emblems with silver paint and build mostly 1/25th scale cars. I have seen on YouTube some people using plumbers tape to cover them. What process do you all use? I'm very interested in this since before getting back into modelling recently I never knew there was anything other than silver paint.
  5. Some incredible builds there, the paint work is fantastic. Today I did my first spray with Dupli-color, I think it turned out well just have to wait for it to cure for polishing...
  6. Thanks I'll read that, I don't want to be messing up my kits by the product I use.
  7. That is exactly why rattle cans, that hood looks great and polished will be awesome. That is why I want to use the dupli-color I've worked with it like it and know what I can get out of it as well as a lot of local places to get it. I'll have to check out the Tamiya also.
  8. OK here is my next comparison question, I've always built out of the box plastic kits and pretty much have stuck with testors spray cans because a few attempts away from them have gone really bad. So now I want to go beyond that, I have an automotive history in I painted cars for about 15 years and had 3 years of school in auto body repair so I have airbrushes and spray guns. I also understand lacquers and enamels and so on. I've used Dupli-color paints painting dash pieces in cars and like working with there product, so here is my question, what do you guys use and is dupli-color a usable product for this if I want to go with spray cans.
  9. Here is my Christmas score this year, the '71 T-Bird and '25 Ford my wife got me for Christmas and the others were a after Christmas sale score at 10 bucks each...
  10. Thanks for the input guys, I will definitely be using it on those tricky curves. I will have to test it out on some decals I don't need and I really like that spoon idea I'll do that as soon as I get though the holidays and have a little more time.
  11. I have never used Micro Set or Micro Sol and resently bought them and Liquid Decal Film to try but want to see who else uses it and if you use it on all your decals or just the tough to set. What’s everyone’s opinion of it?
  12. Thanks for the Welcomes guys and the comment Tom....
  13. Hi All, Little info on me, I'm 52 and I've been building since before I was a teenager but stopped building about 10 or so years ago. I'm completely self taught but for the first time have started looking online for info and realized there is still a lot for me to learn. I look forward to all I can learn here and hopefully help someone.... Here is a couple of pics of some of my builds....
