  1. Thank you... Thank you, I've always liked this kit since my original build. Like Farmer said everything just fits really well. Build it you will enjoy the build Thank you....
  2. It's from a 55 Chevy 1/16th scale, I don't think that will be an easy one to find
  3. I started refreshing this build from a long time ago after I started reading though this forum and asking questions. I didn't think to take a before pic but the change is huge. It was the kit below and modeled in color that I had never painted, I didn't want to just paint it because I like the stripe on the back so I used Pledge/Future to bring it back to life and man it looks better then it did new. Used some tips I picked up here for the redline tires and chrome trim (Molotow pen) and TADA!!!!! Can't thank you guys enough for being willing to show a newbie to the forum and for treating me like I've been a long time member.
  4. Wow never seen anything like that before, and right from an old soda bottle. I've got to give that a try
  5. Not to sound unskilled or knowledgeable, I don't have a clue what vacuum-form is or anything about it.
  6. Anybody have a fix for repairing cracked glass? I don't really expect it to not be able to be seen but I want to try to hide it the best I can.
  7. Nice tool mod, I will be using that. Thanks for sharing...
  8. Thanks for the tips, I will do that need attempt..
  9. Just made my first attempt at doing this, I definitely need a little more practice but I think it went well
  10. I have one I've had a long time, it came with a truck and race car combo. I don't remember the kit thought I've had it probably 30 years
  11. That is an awesome how to, I too will save that video. Great tip thanks for sharing....
  12. That's a good deal, I have the same set, I bought it years ago. I built the Mountain Dew Car but still haven't done the Pepsi one.
  13. I finally noticed the tread about using Future\Pledge I'm going to get some of that and give it a try.
  14. Do you just put Pledge on it? Thanks for all the info guys very useful....
  15. The GTX is metallic so I can't polish it to easily, I do know you cant put lacquer on the enamels and the other 2 are definitely enamel.
  16. The Cobra and Buick are among the better ones but don't have the life like shine, the GTX in person almost looks like satin and I don't remember what kind of paint I used on it but I love the color on the car..
  17. Ok I have been looking at a few of my old builds that if I just cleared them and polished them they would be pretty awesome builds. So my questions do you think it would be an issue to clear an old paint job without sanding? I do have some Dupli-color adhesion promoter I figured I could use also. My other thought is some of them are painted with Testors model spray paint and I want to use Dupli-color clear over them, do you think that would be an issue? Couple of pics to show a few cases I want to do...
  18. ok here is comparison question #4, I noticed polishing the Thunderbird the other day the polish gets in the door and trunk lines and can be tough to get out so to broaden that a little, my question is What sand paper and polish do you use and how do you clean it up and out of the detail after?
  19. I ordered a set of the markers yesterday to try first, maybe next pay I'll order some bare metal foil...
  20. That Molotow pen does an awesome job.... I think badges are going to be the hardest for me to get right...
  21. Expensive is not good for me I'm definitely on a budget, I have a silver sharpie around here somewhere I'll test it out
