  1. Cars, nowadays, are not the rite of passage they used to be back when I was a teen.
  2. Hi! Any pics from this event available? I'm certain it would be interesting. CT
  3. Hi Michelle! Thank you. I certainly respect your preference for the 71/73! CT
  4. Hi Jim! As promised, here's the info I was lacking the other day. The fellow modeler I referenced was indeed Mr. David McGowan, and he worked from a Freeman Car resin VW truck, that he modified extensively to make it a curbside. So: credit given where credit was due! CT
  5. Malice is something I try to avoid at all costs.
  6. Hi Glen! Thank you, but... Ssssshhhhhhhh! Don't blow my cover, I'm here for an observation mission on the long term effects of airplane glue... CT
  7. Martians. however, have quite a time-zone difference...
  8. Longer I live, the more "modern problems" I'm made aware of.
  9. Show me the money... is what the vendors will tell you!
  10. Stations in every market also played HEART OF GOLD by Neil Young.
  11. Nine inch nails was a very strange band.
  12. Salut Mario! Thank you for the kind words. Hope we'll meet at the RAM expo on april 2nd. CT
  13. Money for nothing, as Knopfler & Sting sang it, was the de-facto MTV anthem.
  14. Chest tumping was popular amongst the bullies at my elementary school, back then...
  15. Hi Ray! Thank you for your unfailing support, much appreciated! CT
  16. Hi Mathias! Thanks for the flattering comment. Pressure, pressure.... LOL. CT
  17. Hi Jim! Thank you. Well, I think that a REAL VW transporter would have a lower platform than my fantasy build, as is the case on their pick-up. A fellow modeler inspired me with his creation: a blue transport truck of the same configuration (with tank tracks), but his' had a tarp over the rear "box". I'm sorry that I can't remember his name right now, but I'll try to locate it in my old Contest Annuals and report it here later. That being said, my concept could work. The driver would only have to be prudent with speed (hence the 20 MPH Club!), because the center of gravity would be fairly high. Luckily, ample turning radius is possible on most dry lakes! And it is pointless to repaint every year, so... CT
