  1. The unmanned MG-42 and the ammo belt are Mini-Art . I heated the ammo belt with hair dryer and drooped it over the box . First attempt at heating with a lighter melted the entire belt . Soldiers are my hand painting . Fun little diorama to build . Enjoy . Thank You.
  2. Soldier with green uniform was supposed hold folded tripod legs from MG 34 which was being fired over his right shoulder . I couldn't get this to look correct so with a little work I repositioned his arms and gave him a rifle . Had to cut one arm in half and fill in with Vallejo Putty . He dropped something on the ground it seems .
  3. Hello Everyone . Here is a diorama I brought out of the display case and added a couple upgrades . Figures are by Dragon , 1/35 scale . Rock in diorama is actual broken up stone . Barb Wire is Mini-Art product . Stakes are real twigs .
  4. Superb finish on that build . Fantastic . Great how you post your paint and finish procedures on your threads . I find those quite helpful in trying to achieve end results here . Robert.
  5. Hi Patric. Are all those kits in your collection ? Nice ! Dukes of Hazzard for 2.99$ . That's great . Interesting how many of these were based on popular television series . There is a kit based on The Monkees TV show ? Those guys in a band . I remember at least 1 kit from The Munsters TV show . Could be more ?
  6. Thanks for feedback Larry . Jumping back and forth between building model cars and military dioramas can be fun . Jim , I watched a You Tube video of that Meng kit , lots of detail . Good reviews . I've never built any of their product , but it seems they have a loyal following .
  7. Hi Jim . The FT-17 French tank was by RPM Models . I think they're a Polish company. There's a kit review on-line . Probably this kit is less detailed than Meng . Nice fit-up with the kit., Tracks are 1 piece molded rubber . I had a bit of difficulty with them . It's the first armour kit I've done .
  8. Thanks Carl. The base we used for the WW1 bunker/soldiers was a sports plaque that would hang on a wall . We find these in Goodwill for 50 cents . Remove the brass plaque and they're all set . French tank base is from Michaels , not the greatest wood , quite soft and it warped a bit . The German kubelwagon base is scrap pieces of wood , coated with marine exterior varnish by Beautitone .
  9. Thanks Ray . Numerous methods to do dioramas . I'm still learning . Happy Thanksgiving .
  10. I should have put this thread in, " Under Glass , Military " . My mistake . I forgot to include this . . This is a WW1 German bunker in a farmers field in France , we saw this in 2017 .
  11. My depiction of camo uniforms might not be 100% accurate but I'm in it for the fun . The crest on the wall is a small lapel pin with "B" . Fence is gate from N Gauge railroad . And there we have it . I hope you enjoy them .
  12. WW2 German Kubelwagon by Tamiya . Air-brushed Tamiya colours , light weathering with pastels . German fallschirmjagear ( para troops ) . Dragon kit , hand painted camouflage uniforms/helmets . Street is pre-molded plastic . Street light from HO Gauge model railroad . Flower box is pop sicle stix . Wall is hobby board and compound . All 1/35 scale .
  13. 2 kits built into 1 diorama . Different methods for making cobblestones , I liked the final results with this method .
  14. WW1 French Renault tank . Air-brushed and hand painted camouflage . Tricky kit to build . Soldiers are ICM kits , 1/35 scale. Cobblestones are joint compound , removed bristles from paint brush , squared the brass holder and stuck that into compound for the blocks .
  15. Dragon has nice well-detailed soldiers . Red shld flash is 1st Canadian Division .
  16. Hello Everyone . Here are some photos of military dioramas I built a while ago when I got back into the building hobby after decades long absence . A.W.O.L. WW1 soldiers by Dragon , 1/35 scale , approaching German pillbox . Pillbox made from Dollarama hobby board covered with joint compound and painted . Barbed wire is piece of old window screen. Soil is joint compound with pigments . Water filled crater is Vallejo Still Water " Come out with your hands up!"
  17. Thank You for the feedback everyone . I have a bit of work to do on paint finishes for future builds . Maybe should have applied 1 more coat of paint on this build . Was there a reason companys got away from the old style interior tub and now have the 2 interior side panels/ floor pan/rear seat/dash-board combo ?
  18. Engine view from other side . Except for our troubles with the decals this was a fun kit to build .
  19. Engine view with some details . I lost the clear washer fluid jug so had to improvise .
  20. Our colour was Tamiya X-14 , Sky Blue . Hood had a minor warp in it .
  21. We stripped the chrome from the wheels , drilled out the holes and applied Molotov Liquid Chrome after spraying wheels with Tamiya Gray Primer , to try and get a brushed aluminum look . Nice tires with this kit .
  22. Here is our latest build . Had major problems with decals tearing . This led to stripping the car down and starting over . Tom from PA was kind enough to mail us another set . After experimenting with a decal on scrap plastic we had the same issue . This was after some Microscale Decal Film . Maybe it's something in our water . Onward and upward .
  23. Welcome aboard Jason . I'm relatively new here and have found this to be a great group of people . Lots of nice work on display here . We're in southwest Ontario . Robert .
  24. I can't remember if the decal sheet for this kit had," under the hood, " decals included . Can anyone suggest an after-market company we could check for this type of decal ? Thanks . Robert .
  25. Thank You for feedback everyone . With these 2 in 1 kits there's always lots of extra parts . We've got Hemi engine , drag axles , 2 slicks , race hood . One issue I forgot : the side vent windows , interfered with interior tub installation , too much material on the bottom , had to dremel a small slice off . No complaints though . A nice kit in the end .
