  1. Got all the decals on but I have come to the realization that the wheels must have been gold on this car, just like big brothers car, so I need to do that and then future the model and I will finally be finished.
  2. Again, Really awesome build. I take it Ray Fox prepared the real car? Do you have any background info about the real car?
  3. As of 3:47 this afternoon the build part of the model is over. I futured the decals so they should be ready to go tomorrow. Hoping maybe I can take the final photos Friday.
  4. Thanks, Michael. Yeah I think most of the new crowd need power steering. Probably Newman and Harvick could handle the vintage cars of the sixtys and a few others that I cant think of for the moment. Oh yeah, I completely forgot about Sheldon Creed. That dude is in the mold of a Newman.
  5. Sounds good. Let me know.
  6. Mike, I would have to reformat my sheets to make only enough so I would only have to use 2 8.5 x11 sheets. One sheet for color decals and the other for the white underlays. When i was making inkjet decals I would put extra images on the sheets so if I messed one up, I would have spares, but if i sold them, I wouldn't worry about making extra images . It would be up to the purchaser not to mess up. As far as price goes, I guess I need to find how much I have to spend for the paper, toner, fixatent and postage to send them and then add a percentage for labor. Let me get back to you. If you dont want to do white underlays I cant help you. So let me know up front about that. Its the only way I can print white decals with my laser printer.
  7. Wow, Excellent job. A real stunner. Paint, cleanliness of build ,decal work all at a top level.
  8. Thanks, Bill. I tried to raid the parts box but sadly none of the engine halves I had would come close to working. I could never understand why some one would just take the right half of and engine and the water pump from a kit. And leave the rest. I bought a 63 corvette kit lately from a hobby lobby and somebody had removed the corvette body and replaced it with a camaro body. I should have known not to buy it because the plastic wrap was gone from the kit. I came back a week later and they had put the same kit back on the shelf to sell to some one else. Not cool.
  9. Finished interior. Needs to be dulled down, but once its installed it will not be that noticeable.
  10. Hoping to get the build together in the next couple of days. All the sub assemblies are finished . Just need to put them all together and decal and future.
  11. Frame finished. Basically box stock except for the headers and exhaust cutouts.
  12. You're welcome, Mike . Looking forward to seeing your build. You have a great Christmas too.
  13. Wow, through the roof excellent build. Looks just like that 1:1 vette that is sitting in a beautiful setting. Some gorgeous land right there.
  14. I could find no wip but I found some wip photos in my files . Hope this helps, Mike. The first photo shows the molded in exhaust and goes from there. I used sprue cutters to remove the exhaust.
  15. Thanks, Mike. the oil cooler is scratchbuilt from styrene sheet and rod made by evergreen. Thankfully hobby lobby is now selling it again. I'm not sure where I posted the wip on this build. If it was at randy ayers old site or scale auto it is gone. If i remember correctly I had to remove the molded in exhaust and cover the voids with styrene sheet and putty and then install new exhaust using evergreen tubing. . you have to remove the area where rear seat passengers put their feet and replace it with sheet styrene so the pipe can go through the frame . But dont try to drill a hole through the frame just butt the pipe up to the frame on one side and then continue the pipe through the frame on the other side by butting it up as well . It looks like its actually going through the frame but its a lot easier to do it that way . just cut a hole in the body where the pipe comes through and shape it as an oval, like the real car had it. Thats about it. I found a picture of the 1963 21 ford on its side for reference for the exhaust. If I can find it I will post it here.
  16. Cool, but I bet the postage wasn't all that cheap from Sweden. My grandad was pure swedish and came over in the late 1890's and settked in Joliet, Illinois.
  17. Beautiful build Stephen. Props to Haken for giving you that missing wing support. And to think it came all the way from Sweden. You da man Hakan.
  18. Wow, another one with out of the park details, Dustin. That's the most pictures I've ever seen in the opening thread of a thread. Took my old fashion internet connection a few minutes to load them all. But well worth the wait.
  19. Again, excellent job on this one, John.
  20. I messed up . It was a 75 chevy Monza. another senior moment for me.
  21. Thanks, Mike. I guess I could have ordered the right color from that color matching company that escapes me at the moment. I ordered paint from them for the older brothers Catalina, but I would have to use my airbrush and lately I'm just too lazy to fuss with it. Like you said, darn close, and that's good enough for me.
  22. Yes, Jack. I hear you brother. The humidity makes are summers feel hotter and our winters feel colder. Hardly ever get spectacular weather like people in california and new mexico get. But the californians have to sweat the fires and the earthquakes. I'll take humidity over that anyday even though we get Hurricanes which are no fun at all.
  23. Thanks , Mike. I remember it being a color called yorktown blue poly which is a light silver blue color. The closest thing I could find was a honda color called Avignon blue metallic duplicolor. Its pretty close but not completely accurate. a picture below shows yorktown blue on a 1964 GTO
  24. Mike, its almost impossible for us to get those conditions in gulf coast texas. If we ever get 40 % hunidity the temperature would not be that high. And if we did get 40 % humidity its usually after a cold front and the wind would be blowing pretty strong.
  25. I got it polished but i'm going to have to decant some paint and touch up a few spots. It looks more blue in person. A lot of the edges will have b.m.f. on them too, which will help
