Thanks for the interesting pictures. I've always been a Porsche fan and did own a '72 911T Targa for a few months. Had to sell it when my wife got pregnant as it was our only car and had no A/C. Not tolerable in the high humidity in New Orleans. Loved it tho!!
If you want to try the Mr. Color lacquer bottled primer, paints and clear you won't be disappointed. For sure tho, use the Mr. Hobby 400 leveling thinner. But, the Mr. Surfacer (primers), especially the black and the thinner is hard to find lately.

The trim looking good Ron. Have never tried the Hasagawa "chrome". From what you have described, I assume it's too thick to use the BMF method of trimming with hobby knife.
The cone shaped object is a pretty hard wax and it screws into to "pen". The wax is tacky and sticks to light small parts. Especially useful for clear headlight and taillight lenses.
