  1. Heck no, you didn’t go too far...it looks like a great period-correct car!
  2. The yellow is paint (not a rich enough color, by the way, that bugs me about this build) and the scoop is from the Glidden Thunderbird kit.
  3. You will see a trend in my posts...LOTS of Pro Stock cars...LOTS of 80’s and 90’s cars... Reher and Morrison Camaro driven by Lee Sheppard. Basic build with Slixx decals and lowered to get the stance right. if you are building this kit and lowering it you can use the Jukebox Ford headers for more ground clearance.. I made a couple mistakes, not totally happy with it, but I love the car...
  4. This is the predecessor to the Jukebox Ford that Norm Wizner ran in the early days of Pro Mod. I started with a stock 57 Fairlane body (AMT?) and the Jukebox Ford kit. I heavily modified the body. Opened doors, filled the grille opening, molded in bumpers, added B pillars, on and on and on, I honestly don’t remember everything, I started on this build 20+ years ago! I drew up the logo, and had a friend create the Decals from that artwork. The stripes are airbrushed on, as is the grille. It irritates me and frustrates me, so it gets put away from time to time, but I’m Son the homestretch now...
  5. The rear is easy, I just shorten the shocks. It’s a little trickier in the front, I cut the spindle off and move it up higher on the strut.
  6. I’m nearly done with the second red and white car, it’s just waiting on clear and final assembly.
  7. I’ll post more, I don’t have great pictures, So I’ll have to take some...and I’ll do a WIP on two of them tomorrow.
  8. You and me both...I’m on the verge of finishing two more of his Thunderbirds and I’ll have all six... I also have a Probe that I build years ago that I’m redoing, a Mustang II waiting for clear, and a 68 Fastback almost ready for paint. Oh, and his Firebird he briefly drove for Steve Schmidt...
  9. Very well done! A duster is on my list of “wanna build” cars...you’ve set the bar pretty high here!
  10. Hello all... This is probably my favorite build, it came out better than I could have hoped. Bob ran this car at exactly two races, but I saw it in Pomona and fell in love with it. I started with a stock 92 Thunderbird SC kit and a Cutlass PS kit. I stretched the nose of the Thunderbird, smoothed out the bumpers, lengthened the hood, and added the scoop and wing. The chassis fit pretty well, and I honestly can’t remember what mods I made to the engine other than aftermarket valve covers and distributor (which is inaccurate, but whatever) I used decals from multiple kits and manufacturers, and airbrushed the blue fade on the nose. As you can see from the date on the autograph, this is a nearly 20 year old build, but like I said, it’s my favorite!
  11. Well, here’s my first WIP here on this board..working on the WJ Hurst Olds. I used the Bob Glidden 83 Thunderbird chassis, as I found it to be a better fit than the Camaro PS in many ways. The wheelie bars are more accurate, the cage required less modification than the Camaro/Firebird cage, etc.. I did use an engine from the Iaconio kit, however. wheel openings widened, drip rails shaved, grille filled in, openings in front valence filled, hood filled and recut for scoop, Emblems and hood ornament removed, and many more mods to the body. body is now in primer, and I’ll post more as I go.
  12. Very cool. I’ve thought about building that car, glad you did and glad it’s so clean!
  13. This is one of my favorites...I’ll start posting more pics soon.
  14. Hello all, I'm a builder of almost exclusively Pro Stock and Pro Mod cars. I like to build stuff that requires aftermarket decals, different paint, etc etc. I've built a lot of Bob Glidden cars, and have 3-4 more in progress. I left Facebook a while back and am looking for a community of builders. Currently deep in a WJ Hurst Olds, a Sox and Martin Cuda, and three Glidden cars. I'll start posting some pics and WIP pics when I'm at my home computer. Looking forward to seeing some builds, getting ideas, etc
