  1. Got the chassis built, and rear ride height is where I want it. Reduced the lip on the rear fenders, and got a lot done on the incredible futurattraction engine. I broke off a spindle mount about 30 seconds before I took these photos so the front suspension is not in place.
  2. Finally back on this build...after a new state, new job, allllll kinds of stuff has gotten in the way but I am back on it in a big way and will post pics tomorrow.
  3. I’m calling it done, finally! It fought me and I made some mistakes, but it’s pretty cool nonetheless. I’ll take good pics and put it in “under glass” soon, along with the white WJ Cutlass I wrapped up last week.
  4. Looks fantastic, and this thread will help me on my next project, building my first scratch built chassis...
  5. The strip at the bottom of the windows came from a Slixx “goodies” sheet. The wire behind the window is just bent up piano wire. I drilled holes in the door and glued them in. They support the window and I used canopy glue on the bottom edge
  6. Sooooo close. Just a couple adjustments to the engine compartment tin, install the rear spoiler, and install headlights and this one is finished!
  7. Polished with no hiccups! Final assembly starts tonight, hopefully!
  8. Great looking build so far, can’t wait to see the end result! Can you show pics of what you did to the tubs? Also, I think you may have made the same mistake I did on my build of this car by extending the yellow too far down the hood. I ended up not having room for the “Levi Garrett” decal on the hood and had to leave it off. Maybe check that? I’d hate to see it happen to you too.
  9. Thanks for the compliments, guys, I’m really happy with the progress, finally...
  10. Clear went on with no difficulties, I’m on the home stretch now!
  11. Can’t do that...I used to be a painter, the finish is the most important part!
  12. You’re welcome! Glad I could help
  13. Decals done (again) ready for clear (again) hopefully it goes better this time! This car is so cool, can’t wait to have a finished model on my shelf.
  14. You’d think so, right? However, every pic I see of this car has the runners exposed, so I’m going to leave it that way.
  15. Those are the Moroso valve covers that come in the Camaro Pro Stock kit. I sanded the lettering off, painted them flat black, and used decals that come in the WJ sheet from Slixx.
  16. Ok. Chassis/stance is fixed, engine compartment tin is sorted out, and the chassis is basically done, waiting for the body. Silver and black are done, I’ll start decals tomorrow, hopefully.
  17. Model Master. I get great results with it, I use 2 or 3 different colors of that paint on nearly every build, and like the results every bit as much as the Alclad, which costs 800 times as much...
  18. Metalizer aluminum sprayed out of the can and polished with a q tip. Nothing fancy
  19. I knew you’d like it, it’s a Firebird!
  20. WJ Superman Firebird. I had a brain cramp or something and left a couple details off when I painted the nose, but other than that I’m really happy with this one. It’s an older build, I did it when these first came out. I also waited in line for quite a while to get it autographed by the man himself. The autograph has faded over the years, but it’s there!
  21. It’s even got bosses in the heads for alternator brackets and such. It’s really amazing
  22. Can we talk for a minute about how awesome this engine from Futurattraction is?? I’ve done no weathering, no real detailing yet (other than wing bolts on one valve cover) and it looks amazing. If you are thinking of buying one, you can’t go wrong! starting to see some actual progress on this one, I have been so worried about mucking it up that I’m going very slowly...
  23. Just got this one done. It’s got a couple details that got away from me but I’m pretty satisfied with it. This is Bob’s second red Motorcraft car, and it’s the first “Bob car” I ever saw in person, at SIR in the late 80’s. I lowered the stance, updated the wheelie bars, and added a little detail to the back of the car, that’s it. The paint scheme was a pain (and the kit “Motorcraft” decals do not fit, in case you want to build this version, I had some custom made) but with a little help from some red and white lines I got from Slixx, I got it done.
  24. Great looking race car you built there!
  25. Whoops! stuffed it into the wall
