  1. I bought this kit on a whim because one of the local hobby stores was closing. I have never built a Pro Stocker from this era before now, everything is 80's and newer, but I thought I'd give it a shot. Turns out it was a nice kit, very well detailed, and I had a good time doing it. I botched the hood when I applied the clear (I'll start fixing that when I stop being irritated that it happened!) but the rest of it is in great shape. All that's left is final polish and wax, the metal trim, and final assembly. Very cool car, the kit captures it well, and I'm glad I picked it up.
  2. That's a very cool build!
  3. very nice...looking forward to seeing more!
  4. Nice build, these cars make such mean looking race cars....can't wait to see more.
  5. Dragline was a very good trader. Gave me a great value for my trade and communicated every step of the way. Highly recommended as a trade partner....
  6. Very nice! Butch always had the best looking cars, that one is on my "ill build it someday" list....
  7. Very nice! I generally don't like trucks, but I love them as racers....and yours is awesome!
  8. well...It's low. not quite low enough for my taste, but i think I can get the body to sit a little lower in the front, that will help. The upper front tubes hit the "tin" on the bottom and limit how low the body can sit, so I'll take those back out and modify them, and at that point I will have done all I can do. Tomorrow or the next day I'll post the modified hood/scoop I made to better replicate the original.
  9. Bodywork done, basecoat on, chassis is painted, basic engine assembly is done. Now I need to finish the interior, do some light weathering and detail work to the engine, and get the suspension in. I need to get it on it's feet and see if the stance is acceptable. I found a set of the gold wheels in my stash, so that is taken care of. I love this car, it may be the best looking P/S car ever, and I'm excited to see it finished!
  10. Thank you sir! Bob...as in Glidden, my racing hero and the subject of 50% of my builds.
  11. I'm telling you, Mustang II's make fantastic looking Pro Stock cars....LOVE that Dyno Don car. I'm wrapping up a Glidden orange/white Mustang II and I'm so excited to see it finished...
  12. Body mods done, now for primer and basecoat. I'm also trying a number of different finishes to try and replicate the gold anodized interior panels...spent way too much money on a bunch of paints.
  13. Love it! great looking car
  14. I'm starting with a street car body on this build, so I have to fill in marker lights, gas filler, etc. as well as fill in the seam on the nose. I have them scuffed up and they'll be getting bondo tonight. I also had to straighten out the body, it had a bit of a twist to it. I can't be working on just one thing... I have SIX cars waiting to be clearcoated and assembled. On those I just need to get the last custom decals delivered then I'll get back on them, but in the meantime I started on this Firebird as well as the Vandergriff 57 Pro Mod, so I'll stay busy while I wait for my decals!
  15. Made a trade with gtbr6, and there was a glitch. He jumped at the chance to make it right, and then did so. Excellent trade partner, I would definitely work with him again.
  16. Oh wow that's a blurry pic. I'll get some better ones and add them....
  17. This is an old (20 years or so) build, but I'm really happy with it. I started with the Charles Carpenter Pro Mod kit, and modified the original body. I added the bulges over the rear tires (which was the trend for a while there) and used automotive paint and clear. The paint/body modification makes it a newer car than what is represented by the kit, since I appear to be incapable of building almost anything box stock...
  18. beautiful engine bay, really well done!
  19. Nice build! That's a good looking car...
  20. I'm so glad this kit is out...I'm waiting for my local shop to get their second shipment in, I missed the first. Can you tell us what type of cutting and grinding was necessary? I'm buying a couple no matter what, I'm just curious.
  21. Ok, I see what you are saying, and I agree, the headers on those kits are not correct (in a lot of ways) and shouldn't hang so low. I found headers that do not sit below the chassis and I use them when I build an F-Body. But, even after that, I can't get the car to sit low enough for my tastes. Even after drop spindles and shortened rear shocks the car just doesn't sit low enough over the tires, so I'm trying to lower the body on the chassis. I appreciate the tip, though! Tim
  22. I'm just wrapping up the Glidden orange and white Mustang II, just needs clear and final assembly
  23. very cool. These are underrated cars, they look fantastic as Pro Stockers!
  24. I'm not sure what you mean by that, can you elaborate? I'm always looking for pics, so bring them on, definitely
  25. I have two completed transactions in the trading post and I can't figure out how to edit them or delete them....can someone help?
