Yes it is the Z-Mans resin. Great job on this one too. I hope you approve of "Chopper" getting out his paint brushes and wiping on a coat of paint. I couldn't make the pics look as nice as the truck really is. Thanks for the smooth body to start with. Dave

I thought at first you were telling me that I should have seen his work at Toledo. LOL. The sent me an E-Mail saying that I had a message on here. Chopper rode with me to Toledo. You could have just about ask anybody where Chopper was and they could have pointed him out. Chopper will let you know anything about his models that you want. He does do some nice clean builds. It is hard to discribe but when you talk about a clean build but it just shows. The slick paint, fine door lines, and flawless body work. We will be back again next year. It was my first time but not my last. We will be going to Birmingham, Cookeville Tn. Louisville(twice), Indianopolis (maybe twice), Columbus In. Corbin KY, and Chopper will be at the NNL east, (my sons wedding day so I won't be there) and last, Atlanta. We might take in a few other shows but who knows at this point. Thanks for the nice comments. Dave

Chopper is at it again. His 62 T-Bird Custom
ViperDave replied to ViperDave's topic in WIP: Model Cars
It is from a new Concept Camaro kit. The roof, windows and the whole interior. The front and rear are oringial custom pieces since this is an original kit not the latest one that AMT did a few years ago. The grill is from the Predicta kit. -
This was a junk body when he started. It isn't finished yet but getting close

You got me right. I am #1 and my real Name is Dave McGaughey Thanks guys for filling in my name. I enjoyed the show and plan on being back next year. This time I will bring some new models. It is getting time for me to start on a model of our real car. The #76 Challenger Trans Am racer that Sam Posey drove in the 70 Trans Am series. ViperDave -

Billy. It was good to meet you and your mom. I did find my shoes before the show. I will be back next year too. After we went out to eat I stopped by room 121 and no body was there. Did you have the meeting in another place. I will try to make in next year Thanks Dave -
Questions on this 1/19 55 Mercury Conv
ViperDave replied to ViperDave's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Thanks. As you can see this one is in mint shape and the box isn't too bad. I need to glue the clear plastic back in at the top. I couldn't go wrong for $15. Dave -
We started our club back in 91. Ted "Chopper" Lear was building models at the time but not up to the quality of what he does now. He was chopping up bodies and we use to ask him if he took a new kit and chopped up the box then opened what was left and tried to make something out of the pieces. Me and my buddy Rich gave him the Chopper nickname around 91 or 92 and it has stuck with him. Chopper and I go to a lot of shows together and sometimes we have things entered in the same class. 2 weeks ago we were in Indy and in curbside he took first and I took 3rd. I did take a first in Factory Stock which is what I do best and also the Best Foreign car with my 67 Ferrari 275 GTB-4. Chopper got his computer less than 2 years ago and he just got a new digital camera but hasn't got the downloading part down pat yet. I have been taking all of his pics of his projects and posting them on Spotlight, Scale Auto, Model Cars, B & M, Everything models, Mad modelers, and sometimes on TRaK models. I'm glad you like his work. When we taught him how to sand and rub out his paint jobs we didn't have any idea he would do so good and now he whoops our hineys. Thanks Dave.

Chopper was very aware of PETA. Someone must have really enjoyed the Leopord burgers. After all PETA is for People Enjoy Tasty Animals. The dash was painteded white first then the black was put over the insturments. Then the tops of the numbers were scraped off without going through the white paint The Details were hand painted. I will catch you later. I still have to finish off the Leopard stew. Dave

I thought about it but didn't know if it would get kicked out because of the seat cover pattern. If you think it would pass I will post it. Thanks Dave

After getting registered again and checking it out I am not going to be a visitor there near as much as before. I have liked this format better and now they have gone and screwed up what they had. Each one was different and had it's good and bad points but now they don't have much to keep me checking it out with out getting frustrated. I will be here much more. Thanks Gregg.

I use to open a message and all the replys would be under the first one including pics. Now when I open one I have the replys listed as one liners and I have to open up each one to see what was said and to see the pics that are posted. I don't remember changing anything so I don't know what to change. Anybody know what to do? Thanks Dave

If you know anything about "Chopper" you know that this is just par for him. He sure has a touch with the airbrush and the way he can sand and rub out paint jobs. He has taken quite a few "Best Paint" awards. I have taken a few of them but since we go to a lot of shows together I don't have much chance. Who would know that when we showed him how to use the airbrush we would have to take a back seat to his paint jobs. Oh well, I will just have to go for the "Best Engine" and "Best Interiors" awards.
