  1. The original was a 51 Chevy fastback. Then someone made the Cadzilla model and it was cast in resin. Chopper took that model and added a 49 Mercury front end and made the front wider to match the rear fenders. When it was finished he called it ChopperHead. Jimmy Flintstone bought that one and cast it in resin. Then he gave Chopper a couple of the bodies and he made the Roadblaster Conv version then made this coupe version. Only a little bit is left from the original Chevy body or the Cadzilla version. Ain't modeling great. You can do what ever you want.
  2. Chopper just finished this one. What do you think of it.

  4. The decals on the old AAR Cuda weren't correct. There should be 74 segments and they had 70 on the kit's decals The 10th one and the 32nd one should be on the door lines. They did the front fender ok but got behind on the door and ended up short. The spaces at the end were to far apart. The new kit might have the stripes right but then sure didn't get the shape right on the fender so the stripes aren't correct. I don't have the new kit and I'm not sure if I will get one. Well maybe for parts to convert some older bodies but the rear window is so far off I won't be using it.
  5. Someone built one like it that was my inspiration to build it. You know the one that was on the cover of Model Cars magazine. I sure would like to meet that guy. Maybe someday. Dave
  6. This is the chassis for a 69 Hemi Orange Daytona. I am building it for a Second generation Charger build off. I haven't done much to the body but I am getting close on the rest.
  7. This the 70 Torino I am building for a friend. It isn't exactly the way a stock Cobra is but they have a 70 Torino and it is just something to look like theirs will be when it gets finished. I have already posted pics of the 514 CI big block going in the real car. It will be street-strip use. The model is OTB so no other details were added except BMF and paing. I hope you enjoy it. Dave
  8. I built this one back in 74 if I remember correctly. It was a quickie and I just put it up when I got done. I had to dust it off a little bit. I'm leaving it just this way. I have another one if I want to do something better.
  9. A couple of more pics of the engine done. It's out of box.
  10. This 66 Fairlane GT is an original AMT kit. I started it in 68 and used the 68 NHRA rule book to make it fit the class S/SX. That class was kind of an expermintal Super Stock class. What you could do was replace all the body panels with glass or aluminum but had to keep the stock shape. I made the body smooth like it was aluminum. I took off the door handles and the cowl vents along with the wipers. They also allowed a 10% engine set back. That meant that it could be moved back 10% of the wheelbase. I moved the engine back into the firewall. They allowed straight axles and most of all, they allowed a supercharger. This model was started in 68 and I finished it late in 69 while I was in the Air Force. It took second in some kind of regional contest in Phoenix but I don't remember any name. Do you know what it was. I know there was models from CA, AZ, NM and UT. After I returned home I entered it in a few contest locally and won first everytime. I made a display for it and keep it in a case covered up all this time. It is done old school style and hasn't had any changes to it since. The spark plug wires are still thread. Thanks for viewing it. Dave
  11. Chopper has done about a dozen bodys that Jimmy Flintstone has now. He as a couple more that haven't come out yet. "Chopper Resins" doesn't sound bad. I haven't got into making masters for the resin companies but me and my buddy did about 18 masters for Danbury Mint. We started with the Yellow 57 Chevy Pro Street that was their best seller and we did a lot of the customs and race cars.
  12. Chopper is Ted Lear. We nicknamed him Chopper back in 91 when he started chopping up bodies and making all kinds of neat customs. They list him as Ted "Chopper" Lear when he has models in Scale Auto or Model Cars magazines.
  13. This is "Chopper's" 50 Cadillac. It's not done yet but it is painted and foiled.
  14. The Snake Pit Cobra shop. Here is where we make the Cobra kit cars. This on is HO Scale ( 1/87 )
  15. Dream garage. In HO scale ( 1/87 )
  16. Police car diorams in HO scale. ( 1/87 ) The chase ends. Me and my buddy Rich have been caught.
  17. Low Tide. The 53 Chevy custom. It started out as a 53 Chevy hardtop and the body was combined with the bed from the Chevy SS454 model. The interior is from a Corvette. Here are the old pics And one from a contest with the beach scene
  18. 36 Ford. This one is a custom and it has working doors and trunk. The chassis came from a cobra model and has a 289 Ford motor. The bottom is real aluminum and the wheels are photo etched. Seats are cloth covered and the panels inside are aluminum. Now for the best part. It is 1 / 43 scale.

  20. I am doing this one for a friend who is building a 70 Torino with a 514 ci big block for some street and strip fun. It's not exactly like his but just a reminder of the project he is working on.
  21. I thought the Charger needed a little touch up too. This the the before and after. Dave
  22. Last year I bought a Mechanics brand Dremel at Advance auto parts on sale for $20. It comes in a nice case with 165 parts and attachements. It also has the wand. I have a dremel hanging from each end of my work bench and one in the drill press but for that price I had to get one.
  23. I don't know what happened. When I tried to post the message it said there was a 553 Error and couldn't post the message. I tried 3 times and it still said it couldn't. Looks like it did anyway. Sorry.
