  1. It is the Italari kit but Testors did the same kit later.
  2. Yes it is. Testors sold a 959 street version that has most of the same parts but the wheels are smaller and it isn't as jacked up like the rally version.
  3. I used Testors acrylin enamel paint ( Armor Sand FS 30277 ). I thinned it down to about 25-35% paint and the other part was water. I sprayed it through the airbrush about about 40 lbs and only used a little bit of paint and sprayed it from about 6 inches. I have a real pic of the porsche when it was racing so I looked to see where the most dirt was. This is my first attempt and weathering.
  4. Nice models and a nice Ferrari Garage.
  5. Yes I did. The only shot I have of the chassis is the one on the pole at the Chrysler museum and it it too dark to tell anything. It looks like the bottom is painted black, not body colored. I am looking through some books I have to see if I have any other pics. I will let you know if I find anything. Thanks Dave
  6. This one I started a couple of months ago. It has a lot of Danbury mint parts on it.
  7. I have been working on this for about 7 or 8 years. It got around to finishing it in time for Birmingham.
  8. I know it will look good when you are finished. I have thought about doing one too and have got a lot of pics stored on the computer. I also bought one of the little pamplets that were given out back then. Someone had the pages on line and I have them stored too. I think I have 90+ pictures. If you need a pic of some area let me know and I will see if I have it.
  9. I finished this one this week. It was an old broke up Promo body with a lot of paint on it. The color I mixed myself and it suppose to be Chestnut. I hope you enjoy the pics. .I have since added mirrors and antenna. .
  10. It is almost finished. I am adding little things bit by bit and should have it finished by this weekend. It has gone through a lot of changes from the old Rat pack kit. . .
  11. You had a lot of pics of cars that nobody else had. Thanks a bunch.
  12. I bought it a long time ago and they didn't have the Reissue hardtop body out yet so my plans were to take the 61 Ranchero and make a 65 Ranchero. I know they aren't exactly the same body and roof but I think it is close enough with a little modifications. Just one of my projects that is on the back burner right now.
  13. I think the first one I did was putting a 69 Pontiac Bonneville roof with the vinal top on a 69 Impala. They came with that roof but most of the Impalas including the model came with the Sport Coupe roof with the curved in rear window. I have told people that cutting down into the body on the "A" Pillar and also on the "C" pillar makes it easier to line up and it is easier to sand in the flat areas instead of sanding on the post itself. Nice job too. The 69 Mach I coupe brings back memories. I had a 69 Coupe that my wife wrecked. It wasn't too bad but did require new sheet metal on the front. While looking for the parts to fix it I ran accross a guy who was junking a 69 Mach I and he said I could take any parts I needed. His car had been wrecked in the front not long before that and everything was new. I took the front end with the scoop on the hood and also since both cars had black interiors I took the console, dash incerts ( both sides ) , The wheels, and the flip open gas cap. The car was bright yellow and I did the hood with the correct simi-gloss blasck paint and also did the front and rear pans and the bottom of the sides in black. It also had a black vinal top. Even though it was just a daily driver I got quite a few comments in parking lots that they had never seen a Mach I coupe. When I told them it was a recreation most of them said that they should have made it. I bought a new car years later and was going to put it up for sale after I fixed the brakes. One of my neighbors noticed I wasn't driving it anymore and ask about buying it. I told him I would sell it to him when I got the brakes fixed. Well by the time I got them fixed I had 3 more offers to buy the car if the one before them didn't get it. That was the easiest job of selling a car I ever had. 4 offers and I hadn't put it up for sale yet. Last I heard it was up in Indiana somewhere and still going.
  14. Most V-8's have the push rods going straight to the rockers and pushing the valves down from the outside of the motor. The nail head did the reverse. The pushrod went to the outside of the motor and the rocker worked backwards toward the inside of the motor and pushed the valve straight down. That is why the valve covers are straight up and down.
  15. It takes me a while to learn new things but I will catch on. Glad to see some old names in here. I will be checking in more often. Dave
