  1. Over here, we have coverage from Eurosport. But yeah, there is barely any streams to be found on the internet. Last update for the day, I am going to take a quick nap. All the parts have been sanded and airbrushed in color, so all major prepping work is done, tomorrow will be a construction day.
  2. Curtis, I watch it in the attic on the tablet, watch it on the second floor on the computer and watch it downstairs on the tv, trust me, don't wanna miss it ;-) Small update: The 5 in it's racesuit All colored plastic parts are painted now, so it can dry overnight The parts for the 5 And a few pictures of the Bentley in it's shiny coat.
  3. I am sorry, but I am not going to bore you with a lot of text. Why? Simple, I joined a community build of the Dutch IPMS, in which we build a car (or more) during the 24hrs of Le Mans, the catch is to build a Endurance racer, that actually competed in a 24hrs build. I joined with the Bentley Blower (given by Revell) and a Renault 5 Le Car, that competed in the 24hrs of LeMons. Here are some pics:
  4. The problem is that the Monogram Superbird is 1/24, basically all other kits that have a Hemi is in 1/25.
  5. Thanks everybody! @Josh; nope! I stripped the kit chrome from most parts and painted them with Alclad stainless steel. I didn't want to go the obvious way ;-)
  6. I made new engine mounts And testfitted the engine Everything seems to be in order.
  7. Thanks guys, @Kevin; because people have 're-used' my pictures before, claiming it to be their own or even to fraud people through Craigslist @Fred: Hmm, then I got my terms mixed up, I know it is a full frame, but maybe I should've used the term post-war. Small update, because I am on sickleave I have a few moments to work on it. Progress will soon go a lot slower. Because it is quite normal that the floor is gone in junkers, I decided to remove this floor as well Added new suspension brackets And got a new tunnel, using the old interior floor I drew the wheel cutouts on the body And got 'em out
  8. The engine set up And with the intake on top ( it needs to be made to fit, it is way to big now, but just for the idea)
  9. I am going to make an air intake form both halves of the front fenders The engine will get a major overhaul and make it nicer than it looked when I got it. I cut off the front members and replaced it with a new boxframe Instead of using the chrome covers, I am going with the stock ones.
  10. I have seen a video somewhere on Youtube that gave me inspiration for building this. I was going to use a scrapped 1/24, but decided to go bigger and doubting on 1/16, I chose 1/12 in the end. I had a partial built '57 sportscoupe laying around and other than just parting it out, I had nowhere to go with that kit. An ideal start. The idea is to make a kind of Rat Rod, but different. Where I personally think that unibody's don't lend themselves for RatRodding, I am trying to prove myself wrong, although I will not leave the body intact. I hope the pictures will make it more clear. I started with cutting of the sides of the frame Then I cut the body in somewhat uneven parts (to give it a Barn Rod look) I also gave it somewhat a tapered look, so smaller in the front. And some much needed reinforcements
  11. Thanks! It was a very nice build and had fun with it. @Chris, ssssst, don't tell, but it doesn't have one, I couldn't fit it in the enginebay, the engine was way too big, so I cheated a little bit.
  12. Thank you everybody for the overly kind comments! It was my first try on a panel paint job and I had fun with it. There are no decals used, everything is airbrushed. I had it in a international modelcarcontest in Belgium and I won first prize in the Special Paint category, me happy
  13. When I saw Rodney posting this kit on Facebook, I didn't even knew it existed. But I loved and bought one instantaneously. When it arrived, it lived up to my expectations and I saw a great blank canvas in this car. I also ordered the straight six from a KPGC10 and put that under the hood and boy, it was a tight fit! That engine is huge. But I managed to make a convincing model out of a curbside modelkit I think.
  14. For my annual special paint project ( I just have to do one for the fun of it) I decided I go back to the oldskool paintjobs, The Thunderbird was a great canvas for this project and while just doing small custom touches, I tried to keep it as clean as possible. I also lowered the car, a bit more in the front than the back, for a nice stance.
  15. Are there more people interested? A lot of interestee's didn't even take the effort to reply they have no interest anymore, so I still have a few engines left over.
  16. William, I have read the PM, but was busy at work and with family, my apologies. For the fun of it; I even made a 'retail'-packaging haha: (sorry Ross Gibson for the idea) I believe I can ship it in a padded enveloppe, it will be close to the 32mm max thickness, but it should be ok. That way, shipping would be only 5 dollars.
  17. @Andy, I don't think shipping will be 15 dollars. I think it even might fit in a a padded enveloppe, but I have to figure that out if it is save. Shipping them all at once to a member in the States and have him ship them within the states is also a option. But those are small issues to be dealt with. Trading them for a modelkit is not a problem either, but I don't think it will be interesting since shipping to europe is not that ideal. @William; your's ready. I have now made a couple of engines and I have now a little stash that I can ship out. Who else is interested?
