  1. I would loooove that, I guess they don't hire overseas
  2. @William, I agree with you, however, when I I made the mold a couple years back, I purposly made only the engineblock basics, the stuff that is necessary for a V12. I wanted a clean engine, so I could add whatever I wanted on intake and exhaust. My main reason was flexibility and I have plenty spareparts I could choose from. Carbs, gearboxes, beltdrives, etc.... To be frank; It doesn't make sense for me to offer it with a complete induction and gearbox setup; 1 main reason; I have to make all new molds and it would be made only for selling them, so investing. I am not looking to make a profit or run a business. I happen to have the mold and I can make some people share it with me. Plus if I add the setup, it will interesting to less people, because the engine is now a blank canvas and than it has one purpose. Pricewise, Don't you think 30 dollars is a bit steep? I am not even close to a resincaster and like I said, I am not in for the profit. I was thinking myself of daring to ask 10-15 dollars per engine (as it is now, just the engine block). PM me for price information, please.
  3. Okay, more interest than I thought there was going to be haha. I made a picture of ALL the parts it will include: 1. I mastered the engine as a whole chunk of resin and it works for me. Overall it makes into a nice V12, which can go any way, depends on the creativity and madness of the builder. there are 2 overflow ducts on the valvecovers, but they sand off easily. And also; What would be a reasonable price for such thing?
  4. One of my first casting experiments (couple of years back) was a 1/24 Merlin V12 from a Spitfire. I always wanted to make a tractor-pull with them and I wanted to fit one in a '70s muscle. So far, I haven't gotten to that myself, but because of another project, I started casting these engines again and was really immpressed by the detail of those engines. I could cast a couple more engines if there are people here interested for some nice swap-projects.
  5. I was a bit wrong, it wasn't the eighties, but close. The Beetle and Karmann were issued in 1991. At least, that is the earliest date I could find.
  6. I doubt it, the Bug and Ghia kits are old kits, dating back to (I believe) the eighties. I am pretty much sure that this will be an all new tooling. Including engine, drivetrain and such. Seeing what they are doing with the latest kits (Trabant, Golf mk1) I am pretty confident it will be a jewel. And not like the Revell USA Mustang 1/12
  7. I've sold off all my Fujimi 1/16's, they aren't as nice as the 1/24 Enthusiasts. If you want to go 1/12, look for Tamiya offerings, much nicer to work with. Unfortunately no Ferrari's or Lamborghini's, but thye do have nice Porsches or even a Caterham with alloy panels.
  8. That being said, wouldn't be awesome to get a 1st gen Jetta?
  9. See, I didn't mean it so bad And what John said; English isn't my first language (it is even my third!). But I do believe myself, that my English skills aren't that bad, I think....hahaha. Well, my prayers have been heard. Soon after I opened this topic, my wife came to the conclusion that speaking to her mom in Arizona every day for more than an hour gave her too much stress with the two kids. So I suggested to revise that schedule and she decided to speak only 3 days per week to her mom and within those 3 days, 2 times will be on a evening. Meaning that when she is talking to her mom. I can model some bit hahaha. Because it will be after the kids are too bed and there is nothing to do in the house no more.
  10. And with sedan you mean hatchback ;-) the Golf 'Sedan' is a Jetta. A sedan has a solid trunklid, where a hatchback has a rearwindow in the trunklid. That's why the Beetle and 2CV were sedans.
  11. I just got the GTi to review for the Dutch IPMS, but one thing I am missing is a chrome-sprue. The Trabant also didn't had a chrome sprue and I would've liked to see a chrome sprue for headlights, tailights and mirrors and stuff.
  12. All mid4's are concepts. It never went into production.
  13. Don't worry too much guys, I think James2 is a bit lost in translation or didn't read the whole thing right. I assume he read the inital post as a negative look at daily life, in that context, I understand his opinion. That being said; he could've replied a bit less harsh and verdicting. I think 2kidsnosleep nailed it, we just need a day for hobby. But it has to be a secret day, One kids and wife's don't know about haha. @Miles; Even the sunday's isn't a relaxing day much, usually church in the morning, followed with lunch at my parents. it'll be around 4 noon that we come home. And I visit my parents every week, they haven't reached the 60's yet, but I value my time with them. It will be too soon anyway before I have to part with them. I work as a mechanic now and before I used to have deskjobs. I can tell there is a huge difference in available time left for hobby. Nowadays, I have to get up at 5:30, where I got up at 8 with the deskjob. But I only get one hour sooner home. In the old situation, I had more time available after the kids go to bed with a deskjob than now. That is a noteable difference.
  14. Thanks! @Steve: I guess I completely missed that I'll see if I can fix it.
  15. This build was ever meant for a 24-hr build, never meant for a very serious build. Just to have fun. But live turns different sometimes. I found a job just before the 24hr build and I'd rather spent the time with my family instead, so I cancelled the 24hr build. Leaving me with 2 purpose-made builds. I only prepared the paintjob for the build. I know it can be seen as cheating, but I spent a long time on the paintjob and since a 24hr build is for fun, I don't care if it is cheating, it is my build hehe. In the months after, modelling was set to a very low pace and I had before christmas a 2 week vacation, of which I am finishing now. I set the goal to finish at least one model and made it. The AMT Dodge Challenger R/T with a 440 sixpack was finished today and it isn't a very good model. It was seriously polishing a turd. But I am quite happy with how it ended up. I had a few setbacks during the build, but I managed to overcome the issues. One thing that made me mad, was the decals. I wanted them on and put them on the body. I used Sol on the back of the car, to get the decal to set on the curves, but it didn't work. So I thought to omit the decals, but when I got them off, the sol had left marks in the paint and I had to airbrush the go-faster stripes with the airbrush, covering the mistakes. Anyway; I had some issues with my camera and the model doesn't look very nice in the pictures. In real life, it seriously looks a whole lot better. but here goes:
  16. Don't get me wrong guys, I love those moments with wifey and kids. I have a 3.75 year old and a 3 month old son. They consume a lot of time and I wouldn't want it any different. The movie watching time, is my quality time with my wife, we both enjoy a movie and that is a moment we have truelly for ourselves. Why wife is not cooking? Because I like it too much and my wife is already running the household. I need to help somewhere. Plus I get to decide what to eat haha. This whole topic wasn't put in a very serious way, more to see how other people are dealing with not enough time
  17. I seriously need to find the trick to bend time in my favour. Ever since I found a job, I lost the time to spend with my hobby's. After workinghours, I have to deal with wife and 2 young kids, go to the bathroom, take a shower, make dinner and deal with kids and wife in the evening again. Short after the oldest goes to bed, I watch a movie and have to go to bed, before the whole sharade repeats. I just had a 2 week vacation, so nice, and was able to finish my goal; finish at least one model. Which I finished just a few hours ago, on the last day of my vacation. It all starts monday again. How do you guys bend time?, or what is your secret formula?
  18. I am working on the P38 Lightning since a few months, it is my first balsa kit and I find it quite time-consuming.
  19. Who would've thought that Chrysler would be Dutch Too bad they only hire a PO adress and put the HQ in the UK,
  20. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, I kinda like it. It is different.
