  1. I believe they are always chromed, it is up to the buyer to paint them that way you want.
  2. No matter how much I looked on that site, there is no information found whatsoever about who owns it, in which place it is or if it is even registrated at the chamber of commerce.
  3. Let me see, I;ve got probably more than 100 built models, times 20 dollars for the fee is about 2,000 dollars on registration fees. Not even thinking of the yet to be built 300+ models I have laying around. Naah, doesn't sound that appealing. I quess I stick with printing my own licenseplates....
  4. Don't forget that the 150$ is based on the EU retail price, which is always higher than the US market. Add to that the exchange rate and presto; you have a huge difference. I can't say I am that suprised.
  5. Well, truth be said; it is the Airfix kit, which is a rebox of the Gunze. But even though it is a high-tech, it doesn't have an engine.
  6. Thanks Bob, I can see it is an intricate kit, but working on the Gunze XK-E, it didn't seem too difficult. I will probably add an engine from a Fujimi Enthusiast kit. I think 75-100 is soo overpriced, I paid about 25 dollars for 1, a few months ago. Seemed fair to me.
  7. I don't remember, but I assume with some light bending and I am almost sure, that the innerpanels also helped straighten out the doors. No it wasn't a challenge. The kit pretty much falls together and is really nice, I can absolutely recommend this kit.
  8. well, appareantly not for the Dutch market anytime soon, we have Citroƫn 2CV and Redbull F1 car in 1/8.
  9. I am going to find out if and when it is going to hit the Dutch market, I am interested to buy a couple of first issues, has some nice headlights and grilles for future projects
  10. Thanks everybody! @Harry; making other kind of models, but it takes a lot of practice too! ;-) I will soon post the commemorative car that I made for my son, just like I did with my first son.
  11. Even though taking a break isn't a bad thing, the only thing that stands in between your desired finish is practising. Even though once a while I make a decent finish, I still struggle and still have to learn. I had to learn a very hard lesson today. Get yourself a couple of sparebody's and use them for practise, didn't work? too bad and take the next. Also, I usually tackle the body first, before I really get into the build. That way, I don't have a almost completed build with a screwed up body.
  12. September 16th at 6:55 local time, my wife gave birth at home to a healthy 10 pound babyboy; Jente Erik. We had a very good first 1,5 weeks and the baby is doing very well. Mommy too. Both are in good health and there has been minor issues, biggest one is that the baby barely burps and the sucked in air, has to go through his bowels, which he doesn't enjoy. But that's it. One proud daddy here
  13. I've seen them in the flesh, I've driven them and they turn me on as much as walking around in my underwear on the north pole. They are so fugly and they don't have that Ferrari-thing to them no more. Now they are just sporty coupe's, mere GT's. I must admit the F12 does look better than the previous ferrari's, but they are too forced, to designy. The clean lines of the old pininfarina cars are gone, where they didn't had to use marketing to sell the cars and have design-tricks to design a car. They are just fashion objects nowadays for the rich.
  14. You are proud of those? They are horrible, there is no Ferrari soul in them at all. Plus they are hidious :-) The 355, 550, 456 were not his cars, they were already under development when Enzo still lived. And yes, the F40 was the last great Ferrari. Montezemolo made the Ferrari's into barbie cars, all of the FerrariƧ can be driven by any halfbrained person on this globe. Before, they were halfbread racing cars. A Ferrari was something exclusive, rare, out of reach, hard to drive, but awarding. When you could own a Ferrari, you had something special. With the F40, they were raced with. They had their own competitions. When was the last time you saw a F50, Enzo or will see a LaFerrari race? Never! They are bought basically by collectors for their value in the future. The newer cars are driven by Playboy Bunnies, uninterested football stars and go so forth. Yes, the quality is a lot better, but in the same time, the soul has left. Except for the price, the Ferrari is nothing special no more, not like in Enzo's time. And no, I don't think it will be better with Marchionne, it will only get worse. But I will take a F40 always in favor of a F50 or Enzo and any early Ferrari over a new one.
  15. I can't say I'm sad about it. sure, he did a good thing on marketing and such, but the soul has left Ferrari soon after he started his reign.
  16. Coincidentally, I had some thoughts about this too a couple of days ago. I have my share of modelkits and have kits that I don't want to build, because they are a little less favourite, a lot of work to get the body smooth, needs a lot of work for planned modifying, expensive kits I don't want to ruin and so forth. I came up with somewhat of a solution that I am not sure yet if it will work out. I going in random. So every time I want to build something new, I let faith decide what. Figuring that I usually get excited about basically anything, I just have to take the first step. So in the last few days I wrote all my models into a database, gave them a dedicated number and found that I had a 319 models, oops. Soon, I will finish the GT and start with the project and hopefully it works. (I also gave a realistic value to my models for insurance purposes, I ended up with 13,439.35 dollars, more oops. I even dared to show it to my wife haha)
  17. Even though you make yourself quite ridiculous with that reply, at least you manage to make it readable!
  18. Don't want to be an ass, but is it possible you use . and , 's? I don't know how it is for Americans, but me as a foreigner has to read over that 5 sentences a few times to try to understand what you are trying to say. It would make reading a whole lot easier. Thanks.
  19. John, no, usually I do it simultaneous with the interior and chassis. In this case, all the parts have been sanded and painted, before I started on the body. I did the parts almost 2 months ago and just started on the body yesterday. I hope I can clearcoat the body somewhere this week.
  20. I started this project a little while back, it will be a celebrating model in honour of our soon to be born baby. I made a Dodge Challenger for our first son and so I wanted to make something for the upcoming child (he or she, we don't know). Just like the Challenger, I wanted a contemporary model, that is recent. For this year, I basically had the choice between the Toyota and the LaFerrari and since that thing is hidious, I decided on the GT86, since that one is a bit more normal. The box, I bought it with a extra set of PE from Aoshima The colors I used are Sunset Orange from Nissan and Berwick Bronze from Aston Martin Since a two-tone wouldn't look very good on the Toyota, I decided to go out of the box and come up with a asymmetrical paintjob. I tried to make a circuitboard on the roof, but didn't like it and put carbon fiber on it. The engine so far Wheels And interior
  21. Thanks everybody! @Skip; I agree with you, unfortunately I can't really afford them now and they weren't that horrible. I've seen a whole lot worse hahaha. I also don't like the tires too much, they should be more balloony @R.Scott; Either Italeri or Revell, they both have issued both versions. @Curtis; Funny, over here they aren't worth much. I guess because it is a Euro-release. I believe I bought it for about 10$. Most would be 15-20$ over here, NIB.
  22. Hehe glad you liked the eighties style, not sure if it would still be acceptable nowadays haha. @Bob, I dunno, I guess that is because of what I am used to work with. I know the old, original brakecylinders were 2, but I never gave it a thought of how it is now with American cars.
  23. Muchos Gracias all @Ray & Ron; I don't like it either, but I feel forced to do so. I have had 2 occaissions where people used my pictures for their own financial benefits or actually selling something they didn't had and a few times people claimed to have build my cars. Don't ask me why though... So, I am trying to keep it as little as possible, but try to make it as photoshop unfriendly as possible. @Bill: Until the last day of the build, I didn't know which wheels to use, either the kit wheels, cragars or something else. Till I cleaned up a little bit and saw the wheels I made for my '59 Ambulance. It suited perfectly and the right style. Now I have a '59 cadillac without wheels....
  24. Thanks guys! it is appreciated @Miles, I agree, but till today I haven't figured out where I want that thing....
