  1. I haven't done that, so I just did. I found the Gt350 for 76,00, but partially built/painted. And the normal Mustang (yellow) was around 100 dollars. So people are willing to pay more for it than I thought, but I still don't think it is worth it hahaha. @Darren; I was quite happy with the new mustang to be released. It was about time there were new big scale kits, let's hope more will follow.
  2. Even though it is uncommon and hasn't been around for a while, why would it boost so much? I mean, the kit is mediocre, it is somewhat detailled, but crued. Personally I wouldn't pay more than 35-50 bucks for this kit and that is what I kind off expected from this listing, even more because of that broken pillar. @Casey; the car is in NY, so in the States. I don't think they go for that high over here in Europe. And I have a different version:
  3. I know, but for some reasons. Some kits are more wanted than others. So why this kit in particular? A 1/8 Monogram Deuce or Corvette goes for a lot less.
  4. I saw a lot of prices on eBay that were rediculous, but I've been following this eBay listing: http://www.ebay.nl/i...E:B:WNA:NL:1123 and with 5 hours to go, the price is around 140 dollars now. With a broken A-pillar. The reason why I looked it up, is because I might want to sell my 1/12 kit, in order to get the newer 1/12 Mustang. But I seriously don't see why it would be worth that much.
  5. The cargo-thing And a new approach I've been starting to work on lately. I get all the parts of the sprues, put them in bags with different colors. Work on the parts and paint them in batches. Makes my modelling a whole lot more efficient.
  6. Thanks guys, What is TMW though? sounds somewhat familiar. I think it is a very nice kit too, the detail is nice but a lot of parts needs clean-up, but that is to be expected from Revell and not very bad thing either. I made today the first pictures: This is how the partly assembled chassis looks like now, I will add some more parts and start some detailling before it will get it's paintcoat. The tent for the back has been glued together, I don't think I will use it in the end, but wanted to glue something together Here is where I went away from the manual, it said that I had to build the cabin around the interior, but in order to get everything nicely painted, I decided to put the cabin together before the end-assembly. I also added the firewall
  7. Nothing. I live in The Netherlands, in a quiet area and far far away from any exotics and cool stuff. I would say I get my inspiration from travelling, internet and TV.
  8. Thanks, yes and no, it is not meant for Dremels, but Proxxon. I bought recently a new minitool and wanted a Dremel, but learned that the new Dremels are by far not as good as they were. So I went for a Proxxon, it is a way smaller company and they make wonderfull tools, the quality is top notch and supplies for parts are not a problem. With the stand I want to try and use it a little as a lathe.
  9. For us Europeans, the modellingscene is quite dominated by the military and the airplane builders. So whenever there is a event, it is basically military and airplanes all the eye can see, with some lost cars, trucks and motors layin around. That is why I look forward to drive 4 hours south to Belgium, where there is a event specific for trucks and cars. It is very nice and even though not superhuge. It is big enough to spend 2 days over there. I made a couple of pictures which can be seen here: http://firerods.com/Shows/Jabbeke%202012/index.html Some pictures from the album: Since I broke part with the club I was originally going to have a stand with in Belgium, I decided to fly solo and requested my own stand. Which was granted and this was my stand: And I can proudly say I won 3rd place in Special paint and 3rd place in cars USA (that class was a big class, so makes it a good achievement) More here: http://firerods.com/Shows/Jabbeke%202012/index.html
  10. I've been given a Krupp to review for the Dutch IPMS. In mine opinion, it is one of the better looking trucks ever build, with it's round shapes and added chrome. It has something extra to it. Due to the fact it is a review-model, the build will be mostly OOB, but I will add some extra details in wiring and stuff. I haven''t made pictures yet, but the chassis is mostly assembled and so is the cabin. (I didn't followed the instructions, where I have to assemble the painted cabinparts around the interior). I hope to show some pictures tomorrow. In the meanwhile I give you the box-art:
  11. This are my last treasures I found here and there:
  12. McLaren: yes, Veyron... naah not so much. Technically a piece of wonder, but I don''t like the design and marketing. I would''ve liked a Pagani Zonda, Lamborghini Aventador or the Ferrari 'F70' (the new F-series car that will be announced in 2013). Black would be a very nice color, the Enzo does look good in it. My 1/24th Enzo is going to be blue with a single white stripe over the middle, as tribute to the 250GTO's that raced.
  13. I have built so far 2 Revell Enzo''s, working on a Tamiya Enzo and will convert a FXX into a 250LM tribute (like the P4/5), so I had already my share of enzo''s. And that is where I start to doubt of purchasing the kit. The Enzo isn''t the prettiest car, neither is it a very legendary car, so the only reason for me to buy it, is the kit itself. And I have bought already a couple of kits where I don''t really like the car, but do like the kit. For example a Wingnut Wings Pfzalz airplane, I could care less about airplanes (modelkits), but the kit itself is quite intrueging. And there we are at the crossroad, even though it is a amazing detailled kit, I find it overpriced. Plus it isn''t my most favourite subject, so I am left in a dilemma. On the color of the finished model: It is a Ferrari, how big is the chance you will see a red one?
  14. Since this is a modelkit version, I would assume it will come unpainted. Usually HLJ will also mention if something is prepainted. I still have not decided whether to but htis kit or not, it is still a lot of money for another Enzo kit.
  15. No bashing here, but boy, am I glad I work with the metric system hahaha, @Joseph, thanks for the tip, that is usefull information making the artwork. Do you also make the part itself 15% thicker of the metal thickness? Since those holes were eaten away from the outside as well.
  16. I did, but it seems that that company is no longer in business. I think that the MicroMark offering is a good deal for what you get (even in the export-version)
  17. The pictures for sure don't look bad for a first attempt. I think more detail would've been there if you kept the etching time a bit shorter (like you mentioned). Other than that, I think it is nothing but trial and error to get somewhere where Joseph is.
  18. It depends a bit on the exchange rate, at the moment the Dollar is getting stronger, therefore the Yen is cheaper.
  19. Thanks all, too bad there is no usuable promo code for me. @Jim, even for the photo-etch kit? If so, can you point me in the right direction where I might be able to find a better deal?
  20. I probably will make a purchase with MicroMark in the next couple of days, however, due to me living in The Netherlands, I don't get any promotion codes from them. Does anybody have a recent promotion code which I can/might use with my order? Or I could ask: what are the current promotions?
  21. Thanks Joseph! I know it sounds all dumb, but this is such a new thing for me, I've never worked with this before or know anybody who does. So more dumb questions: I slowly start to understand the process, but please correct me if I am wrong: -I need to laminate the resist-film on both sides of the metal right? -Is inkjet ink opaque enough for not letting UV-rays through? -What is the best way of exposing both sides of the metal without the chance of the metal sliding a little between the 2 sheets of overhead film?
  22. A big thanks to Joseph! that stuff looks amazing! I hope I can lean back on you when I get my machine and have some specific questions? Ok, I fortunatelly have some disposable income at the moment, which is very rare for me, so I want to go ahead and order me the photo-etch system. Because I live in the Netherlands, I want to bulk up a little bit on the harder to get items, but I need help with that. I think I need to order extra of: -Photo-resist material, I have no idea where to get this in Europe I don't think I need to order extra of: -High resolution inkjet film, as mentioned above, overhead sheets can do the trick -Brass and stainless material, as can be purchased over here I am not sure if I have to order extra of: -Laminating carrier sheets, are these reusable? What is the purpose of the laminating? Is it sandwiching the metal, photo-resist and inkjet film? I don't think they are reusable and I think I can get this locally, but not sure. What do you guys think? I do need to have some feedback, as we are talking big (for me) numbers and I have no experience what so ever with this stuff.
  23. it is the Fujimi enthusiast 911 Turbo. Either the '85 or '76. Very nice kit, seriously detailled.
