It is finally done! it took me a while, not that long actually, but I am quite happy with the result, it has that nice sleek look to it and although there are many points to improve, I am happy with the result.

I started a Youtube channel
The Creative Explorer replied to The Creative Explorer's topic in Links to Aftermarket Suppliers
Thanks guys for the support, it is very much appreciated. I just uploaded part 5, which I think it the best part to watch for the graphics. -
This is a new project and still working on camera-angles, quality and stuff, but I need to start somewhere. I received many requests on how I make certain paintjobs, but explaining isn't my best quality. Until recently, I did not had a digital videocamera that could work with modern media easily. That changed and I can rather quickly make, render and upload video's. The first airbrush How-to's will be on my most recent project; A van from the seventies with a wild space-art paintjob. The first 2 video's are now uploaded and there will be a couple more coming soon. Let me know what you think, the link is: http://www.youtube.com/user/TheCreative ... ature=mhee

Real car question
The Creative Explorer replied to oldscool's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
What I do overseas is to dissamble the part (s) on the dasboard, sand them, apply plastic primer and normal primer, followed by either color that is appropriate, and coated with semi-gloss clear coat. It is more work, but it does the trick and looks a whole lot better. -
Thanks guys! I am quite pleased with it too. I put on a clearcoat yesterday, but haven't had time to sand it and do a second coat just yet, hopefully tomorrow or tuesday. When finished, I will post pictures. @Stuart: This is my channel: http://www.youtube.com/user/TheCreativeExplorer?feature=mhee I have made one video this afternoon, but give me some time for the rest, I filmed everything on Full-HD and my computer can't really handle it.Be patient, but I try to upload everything asap. @Rommel; I do have a second body, but i am not going to redo the van again haha. But it is a nice idea, who knows I can find a third body. I also have a question; it looks like the rear-tires are missing, is there anybody who might have 2 rear tires?
-
Thanks for the honest opinions and I am sorry not to reply earlier, but I went to sanding the whole van (and there was lots of it) and missed a bit of motivation to get on airbrushing again. But, I redid the car and now made the whole van 'space-art', without any solid colors. Pictures will follow soon

True, but when the MG group bought the company, they made a few last 75's together with their Z7 MG, it had a V8 and was available in 2006

There were actually 2 answers possible, it is also a 2006 Rover 75

Ghosting
The Creative Explorer replied to crazyjim's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Dc; that was over a year ago -
Thanks guys! @Bart, there were several versions of this van, so it is quite plausible it was a different version of this kit. Guys, I need your honest opinion! I am in between of continueing or restart the project. I am not all that happy with the paintjob, it doesn't look too bad, but I think there are many flaws in the project, too much to make it look nice. What I need to hear from you guys, if I should stick with this or just start over. (even though it has taken me 16 hours of work yesterday)

I got the black paint and put a light coat on top of the moons and planets, this makes them a little less bright and more to the background. I also added some stars, by using 2 straight lines accross. After I was happy with the space art, I started working on the foreground, I used another template and different colors of grey to create depth The other side of the van, showing another mural in the same style And the look after all the layers for the foreground were ready The final thing I had to do, was to create some fog, for the 'connecting'-lines, but that will explain itself after I have the next paintjob on it.
-
After the car was ready, I could start with the airbrushing, these are the items (next to paint) I might going to need for the mural, I didn't use the glossy and the stickers, but I might needed it, so I had them available. The car, ready in the paintbooth after a little prep-sanding with 3200 grit. And before the 2! hour airbrushing. The first thing I did was to paint the black background and made some stars, using white paint and ultra-low pressure from the compressor. After this picture I did the same thing with light-blue, yellow and red. Using a template, I made some moons and planets. It's shown a bit better in this picture.

Thanks guys! The scale doesn't bother me really, it is my only 1/20 scale, but since I build anything between 1/25 and 1/8, it doesnt bother me, as long as I have fun haha. @DC: not completely, I do have a idea in my head, but I need to work as I go along and hope I make the right choices. I've never done something like this before and I hope it works. I was able to put the final primer coat on today, which means I could start on the paintjob as well. I went a lot faster than I thought up front, I thought it was going to take me all week to get all the panels sorted out, but here we are, wednesday evening and I already finished the mural. Anyway; I let the pictures do the talking in this project. In the box of parts ( that is what I got, a big box full of parts, of which I can make at least 2 vans, (the wizard & Shock-treatment), but I also have some parts from a black van. One of the parts was a front spoiler lip, I liked it and fixed it to the car. All the doors had to be fixed too, there were a lot of shrink-marks and I filled the key-holes. The car, finally in Primer.
