  1. Thanks Mike for the info you provided. As far as the Pattos decals for the #26 car, they are short of contingency decals, but I have plenty of other decal sheets to get them from. The one that I don't have is that quarter panel decal. Good to here there will be a 1/25decal set for the Gray Ghost because that is another one I want to do sometime. What would be really cool is to have the decal sheet for the #7 Fisher 69 firebird car.
  2. I'm looking for GM Marina blue rattle can spray paint or a close match to it. Any suggestions ?
  3. Thanks for the pic of the Fisher 69 firebird. I plan on doing that car using the AMT 69 firebird kit. Also thanks for the pic of the #26 Titus car. I have started building that one from the Revell 68 kit. I found decals for the # 26 from Patto's Place. They are on a sheet with the decals for the Titus 68/69 #13,#18 firebird. I bought most of my transam decals from Patto's The are very good IMHO. Do you think 3 amigo's will do the #26 car in 1/24 1/25 ?
  4. Does anyone make a dana 4 link for a 67 camaro. I am trying to build a replica of my brother in laws pro street 67 Camaro & it has a dana rear end with a 4 link & standard shocks (not air bag) with a tubbed rear end I'm using a resin cast pro street chassis.
  5. Yes you did an excellent job on this model. I was hoping to find a challenger like the revell aar cuda because it has the interior without the back seat. I'm not good at carving up an interior to remove the back seat & console. I tried it with the 1/24 scale 1970 pontiac trans am & it came out not looking very good.
  6. Monty Yes a member from New Zealand did a build awhile ago, but I'm pretty sure he used the 1/24 scale kit. I have the Revell AAR Cuda in 1/25 scale and the Revell Challenger in 1/24. I just don't like the size of the 1/24 as most of my models are 1/25. I'll check around for the Revell one based on the diecast Thanks.
  7. I have a couple of questions. Does any manufacture make a 1/25 (not 1/24) scale 1970 Dodge Challenger ? I want to build the Sam Posey car. Also what is the correct color green paint for the body ? Are there any model spray paints that are close ?
  8. Fireball modelworks for the hubcaps and tires.
  9. The real car I had was actually the Sprint version with the 4 barrel carb & all the hop up engine parts, but with a 3 speed turbo hydromatic transmission. It also had a fold down rear seat & a rear window defroster in the rear shelf. I bought it from a guy in Middleton Wisconsin that ordered it that way brand new. He was a long time SCCA member. I hit a deer at 55 mph a few years after I got it & replaced the grill. left front fender, radiator, & hood & had it repainted in it's original color. I paid $1800.00 for it drove it for 5 years & sold it for $1800.00. It is one of those & wish I would have kept it cars.
  10. A replica of my 69 Firebird that I owned from 1979 to 1984. AMT kit, Fireball tires & hubcaps,& limelight green automotive custom mix paint. Correct Illinois license plate.
  11. I got a 1099 this year & only sold about $2500.00 on ebay. My tax person fixed it on my Schedule C form.
  12. There was somebody selling the complete conversion kit for the 69 Camaro for Trans Am, but I haven't seen any lately. It had roll bar, dash, bucket seat, spoiler, & some other stuff. He also was selling a resin cast 69 Camaro body with fared wheel wells I bought both to build the Sunoco #9 Penske 69 Camaro & used the Revell 89 Z28 kit for a donor. I bought the 67 Chevelle roll cage on ebay, but have yet to use it.
  13. Looks like I put it in the wrong category, Sorry.
  14. Finished this up a few weeks ago. Resin body & interior parts, Patto's decals, Tamiya paint, resin minilite's & a Revell 69 Z 28 donor kit. I'm 66 years old with bad eyes, bad back & shaky hands. Made a few mistakes, but I think it turned out ok.
  15. Thanks I ended up using brilliant orange & it came out great. Yours is a cool model I used to have the tirebird car.
  16. A very nice build. I would be interested in buying a set of decals if you have any extra.
  17. Thank You Greg. Lots of info & much easier than trying to use the search engine on this site. 1 tip I like is to drill 4 holes in the floor & leave the extra length to go through the so you can place the body over the interior & mush it down to the correct height. Hopefully no more of the roll cage halfway down the drivers window.
  18. Anybody have any tips or tricks for scratch building roll cages ? I have started building 1/25-1/24 Trans Am cars 1966-1971 And am having a hard time getting roll cages to look & fit right. So far I have done a 68 firebird, 68 camaro, 70 camaro & am starting on a 69 mustang. & they look pretty crappy. I tried adapting the plastic performance products stock car roll cage with not much success. I tried a total scratch build on the 70 Chaparral Camaro & it was slightly better, but still not great.
  19. I'm currently getting started on building the George Follmer 1970 Mustang Boss 302 Trans Am car. I'm using the Revell Boss 302 Mustang kit. My question is what rattle can spray paint is available to get the correct color for the body ? Hopefully something in the Tamiya line would be close.
  20. Has anybody tried using the AMT full front bumper 70 1/2 Camaro kit to make the Chaparral trans am car ? I am attempting do do it & am having problems finding a set of headers to fit. I'm using the 350 motor that comes with the kit & pretending it's a 302. It's a very tight fit between the engine block & the subframe rail. I also want to attempt to mount the battery in the heater delete area like the real car, but again there isn't much room. I'm working on modifying the floor pan & the dash as well.
  21. I am not familiar with flocking, but I have since read a couple of articles on how to do it. May have to try it.
  22. Finished the interior of my model. I used Uschi Truckers Delight decals. It is an assortment of decals primarily for guys who build semi truck & want to detail the interior. I used about 1/8 of the sheet of the burl pattern. Put down a coat of Testor wood color first, then the decal, then decal setter, & finished with a coat of Testor's dullcoat spray. I used the Model Master photoetched kit for the 68 firebird for the detail stuff.
  23. Thanks Swede, I followed your posts on the Camaro Research group page. You do some mighty fine work. I have looked on this site for some of your work, but haven't been able to find much yet. Sadly most of the pictures I have found of the #9 car are in black & white, so it's hard to tell the color of the door panels. I guess I'll go with black. I'm also working on the Titus 68 firebird red & white paint scheme. I just wish I could find decals for it. For years I have been building 1/43 can am cars & have now started branching out to 1/43 ^ 1/24 trans am cars.
  24. I can find some shots (color photo's) of the interior of the #6 1969 Camaro & know they are red, but I need to see the color of the door panels & the dash top on the #9 vinyl top car.. I'm working on the # 9 car with a resin body & a Revell Z 28 Camaro kit,
  25. I am unable to print decals.
