  1. Yep....and been missin' it ever since......TIM
  2. Excellent....especially those coil-overs! TIM
  3. Great paint detailing work and really like the overall color scheme too! Cheers.....TIM
  4. John....great to see you back at it, and amazed at how quickly you can define and build such a convincing replica largely from scratch. In the original MPC kit, the engine was a DeSoto Firedome Hemi, which I presume was based on the the 1/1 scale original. An early Chrysler Hemi, then, is a close but not identical substitute. In keeping with your slight "upgrading" (e.g. the Halibrand Quick Change i/l/o a Ford 9"), the step up (in power and prestige) from a DeSoto Firedome to a first gen Chrysler Hemi seems entirely consistent for your project. Plus the effort to fully duplicate exactly a Firedome (e.g changes like the engine front cover/water pump layout) seems to be a questionable effort given the similarity in design between the two 1/1 scale) engines. Will be watching this one progress and envision a stunning result when complete, just like the other projects you've shared here and elsewhere in the past. Way to go! TIM
  5. Al.....great subject for a model build and really like your build theme, too! Unibody F100's rule, in 1/1 AND 1/25th scale....way cool! TIM
  6. Rob....looking very, very good. Love the engine choice and that fat 'ol Paxton blower hanging out there....so much more character than some of the more typical engine choices....will be watching as it finishes up....TIM
  7. Dennis...great start so far. Love the theme. Have used that rear axle/quarter elliptic setup on some of my Gasser and A/SR - AA/SR builds myself...an outstanding selection on your part. Will be enjoying watching this one come together....TIM
  8. Thanks Lance....yeah....I was a bit neglectful in not getting any more pix! (smile) Cheers.....TIM
  9. Craig - nicely done!!! And good to see that Nailhead in lieu of the SBC. Anyone else got a completed build yet? TIM
  10. For what it is worth, my understanding is that Revell asked for, and received, copies of the original Model A Blueprints from the Ford archives, before engineering the kit Cheers.....TIM
  11. It was also a "Great 8" finalist for the Ridler award at the 2015 Cobo Autorama IIRC.....TIM
  12. This is the car that won the Ridler, hands down in my opinion, at the Detroit Cobo Autorama earlier this year. It is a gorgeous (and expensive!) piece of work. Glad you enjoyed the pix....TIM
  13. Dave..have not had time to compare yet....working on building two versions of the Revell '30A Five Window coupe.....TIM PS - As I've said before, it is really dangerous to try to draw conclusions on body proportions by comparing model bodies to pictures of the 1/1.....you really need to photograph the model, with the same camera, lense, and photo angle, then compare the pictures. Even more insightful if the model is built and painted before the photography......TB f
  14. Heads-up....in the instruction sheet, the blower drive for the blown Chevy engine is shown upside down and backwards, both during initial assembly and in subsequent steps. Revell has been notified and will issue a correction. . Cheers....TIM
  15. Thanks Mike. Yeah, there were a number of 1st gen Scouts this year....I've known for several years that Revell was working on a Bronco, but didn't know when it would hit the market. So I was really surprised - pleasantly so - when I returned home Friday night and saw the Q4 announcements. TIM
  16. Seven fresh pictures of a 1/1 '48 Ford Coupe greenhouse/roof area at this link....Best Regards.....TIM
  17. Not sure if the car pictured above is the one, but several recent '30A Five Window Trad Hot Rod builds have used a '32 (not Model A) firewall in a recessed position as shown. See details in the recent issue of Rodder's Journal that feature a detailed article on four such 1/1 scale rods. Great ideas there....TIM
  18. That's the plan as I understand it, although I do not recall whether the Derby car was a rediscovery of the original tool or a recreation. Box art will be different enough to make sure that collectors do not mistake this issue as an original. If you've never seen the AMT-Ertl '68 Camino, it's one of the nicest kits from the mid-late 1990's John Mueller / Dyersburg AMT Ertl era The street machine version even had such cool features as a slightly tubbed pickup box floor and a highly accurate replica of an early aftermarket (B&M?) supercharger setup. Should be an excellent kit.....TIM
  19. Russ...not, not that many, but not that many less either Sure appreciate not having to have these developed at the film lab, though. Cheers....TIM
  20. 630 photos at this link.....enjoy......lotsa great modeling ideas and inspiration here. Cheers.....TIM
  21. Very, very glad to see the Bronco finally announced by Revell. A couple of years ago I told you guys that Revell was working on some pretty cool projects but could not reveal details.......this was one of them. I don't know anything more than the above, except to say that they put a great deal of effort into the research for the project. TIM
  22. This kit was issued by MPC circa 1968 and never reissued to my knowledge ....and was based on a shortened version of their first-gen Logghe funny car chassis. Pieces of this tool still resurfaced a few years ago in the reissued Model King Cougar funny car kits (that '28A Tudor grille shell, to be precise). TB
