My greatest DUH moment was reading your post................ LOL
(Just kidding)
One time I glued the body on the frame and forgot to install the windows !! YIKES !!

Beautiful job my friend !!!
This car design is very interesting, over the top, overdone and creepy all at the same time.
Now I know why you decided to build it in scale.
It's a real attention getter !!

OK, after some experimentation on this test body I finally got the weathering look I wanted.
And the rub-on lettering weathers' really easily with some light sanding.
Now, I'm off to work on the real body................

Thanks !
Yeah, the first time I saw the new Revell 49 Merc, chopped and with that louvered hood I thought it needed to be a salt flats racer……….

Thank you all so much for your kind comments.
I will be testing some weathering ideas on this test body.
I decided to put the finished model on a trailer. This adds to the story that very little repair was done to the car after it was found.
(For instance it won't have a battery.)
While the paint was drying on the test body, I built this trailer from some old trailer parts I had. I scratchbuilt most of it.

Rust, dirt and grime.
You bring up a really good point. First have fun, everything else should be in second place.
Have you ever built a really good looking model that you hated building?
.
..
Yeah, OK.
I thought the stock muffler that was still mounted in place looked a little strange too.
So I removed it and threw it in the back seat............................ for a few years.

John, you are amazing !
It's amazing how you can take something that looks like this:
And make it look like this: I would have given up, because it looks like too much work.
