  1. Back around 1974 I was given my first model. An MPC Coo Coo Marlin Monte Carlo. I never finished it as my brother took it with him at some point. 49 years later I found one and purchased a sheet of reproduction decals. It is one of my favorite builds.
  2. Thank you everyone. I am happy with the results so far. 2025 is going to be way busier as I am already working on 4 different models, and still waiting on the "Stranger Things" K5 Blazer from Revell to be released.
  3. A couple of them still need finishing under the hood, and after the paint dried on the Airfix Gladiator, I was unsure if model glue would hold it together, so I super glued it. Should have waited to put the roof on as the gas from the glue got on every fingerprint on the interior, and glass. I watched CSI enough to know better than to enclose it till the fumes had expelled, but I still put the roof on trapping the gasses. Dumb rookie move. 2024 was the first time in 48 years of building that I tried patina. Making them shine is easy. Making them look old is an art. I tip my hat to those who have mastered the art of patina, and weathering. Anyways, on to 2025 The whole reason I own a gladiator
  4. You had me at Pontiac Can-Am. Some of the best-looking underpowered cars ever made.
  5. "PRE-ORDER" AMT 1977 Ford Mustang "Hells Drivers" 1:25 Scale Model Kit | Auto World Store I am not sure why this excites me. Maybe because between stuffing V8s into Pintos, and 5.0 Fox body Mustangs, there was a couple Mustang IIs in my life. One with 302, and the other with a blown 468 Chevy stuffed in it.
  6. Finally, broke down and ordered the Trans Am. It will go with my 85 Corvette. I think 1/8 scale cars were around 30 bucks back in the 80s. Paying 6 times that almost seemed irresponsible, and childish. I did it anyways. LOL
  7. So I had a vision of building a Ripsaw from a tank model. It is far from done, but it is as close as I will get for scratch built. It has 4 seats, and the driver has steering controls, gas and brake pedals. Since I was going for a more civilian version, I painted it with Metallic colors, then used a flat clear. I redesigned the fenders too. I will be adding detail to the interior, lights, and glass. I also brought out other off road only models to compare. All look like they will play on the trail
  8. Bringing this one back from the dead. So I have already built the Scout II SSII, and with the other Scout, I am hoping to make a 1980 version with the Nissan Turbo Diesel 4 cyl. I can come up with the engine, but the grill is the difference as it has square headlights. I see a company named Olsen that makes parts for Scout and Bronco but can't seemed to find a good link.
  9. Certainly, a fun video.
  10. I like this.
  11. Very nice. I had the same kit for about the same amount of time. Finally finished it two years ago. I look forward to seeing yours finished.
  12. Me too. Not exactly the Steve Morris 6 second Twin Turbo wagon but still entertaining to watch.
  13. Nice. The model is very accurate to your 1:1 version. Not in the pic, but I also had the Stillen front bumper cover installed not too long after the pic was taken.
  14. Had two Fleetwoods too. The opti is a PIA, but once you get used to it, it can be changed out in under 2.5 hours. The key to never changing one twice is a new AC Delco unit and swap out the cap and rotor for the MSD unit. Also making sure the vent system is working correctly. Here is of my previous cars.
  15. I restored a 95 Roadmaster sedan, so I also have a resin body of a RMS to remake that car as well. I have owned almost 20 B and D body GM cars from 94-96
  16. Seems like they are starting to release some of the stranger thing's vehicles. The Blazer isn't one of them..... Yet. Stranger Things
  17. Wal-Mart score. Now if only Wal-Mart sold 1/25 scale big block Chevy, and Pontiac engines.
  18. It is a filter. I have a bathroom exhaust fan mounted to the back, and I put a hose from it out the window and go to town when I paint. I usually paint several bodies at once.
  19. I am going to build a replica of my Police package wagon. The real car was Dark Grey Green Metallic, with tan cloth guts. It was a fun car with Eaton locking diff, 3.42s, built 4L60E transmission, tuning, SLP Ram air hood with matching intake box and other bolt ons. It ran low 15 second 1/4 miles with the stock LT1 350. The car was quite rare. I believe there was 154 1A2 police package wagons built in 95, and mine was one of two in DGGM unmarked wagons built, and both has spent time as NY Thruway units. The wheels on mine were one off versions of the stock Impala SS wheel. I removed the center cap and opened up the hub hole to accept a chrome center, and exposed lug nuts. I had them powder coated black. They were not made for this car but fit the look I was going for at the time. Now on to the model portion of the story. The donor model is a Revell Thom Taylor Alternomad kit with what I believe is a modelhaus resin body. I built the hood from the kit's hood, but it was too narrow for some reason. I found another hood from a taxi kit I am using for another body swap. I split it to get it to fit, then cut out for the scoops. I have a lot of work to make it look fluid again. This will be a slow build, as the body is far from perfect, and needs a lot of work to get it right.
  20. Finally finished the room. Now on to building again. The paint booth is also ready to go again.
  21. Thank you I was in the blue wagon in this video at NED. I broke loose at launch and had to work for it to squeak out a win.
  22. The Chair, Desk, and cabinet showed up yesterday. I was busy when I got home from work. Just waiting a couple more things. Cart was too small to place my paint booth on, so I need to come up with something else for that. I will be able to retire the toolbox as my paint/supply storage.
  23. Thanks for the responses. I will try the purple pond, Isopropyl alcohol and brake fluid if necessary.
  24. Two of mine. Both were built simultaneously. The older chevy is not correct, but I liked the scheme. My next one will be based on the 70 Ford police car from ATM. Just need to find out what color they were back then. The green and gold came about around 73-74.
  25. So I painted a 90 Mustang Notchback green and gold with Xtreame Lacquer to make a NH state police car but have decided to make it a California Highway patrol black and white. The black and white needs to be enamel. The lacquer needs to come off. Will a dip in the purple pond work? Or do I need something stronger?
