  1. So I had an extra body lying around and apparently talking with my Dremel about a play date with one of my kits. I did this with a boxy chevy, so this seems easier. Sort of..... Funny how the door is to scale, yet the rear window seems big. I have not glued the back to the front till I figure out what is out of whack. The roof line is another place for concern. I could not cut the donor roof any far back as the main roof was as far back as I could go before it turned downward to the back window. I actually cut that right on the line where the curve started. I think between a little heat, and some putty, I can make the mismatched roof line disappear. I may have to cut the door frames from the roof to get things aligned. All of this, and shaky hands. Good times.... I am not sure what the color will be. I was thinking about painting it white, or light metallic blue. It will be a W/T package as I already have the Iceman base grill.
  2. I would have bought a bunch of those over the years Had Revell offered it in stock form. Back in my Mustang days, the Mark 7 was the luxury fox body built off the T-bird/Cougar style. They were very cool with BBS wheels, and Recaro seat option.
  3. I seen them before, but now that I am looking for them, they are no longer listed.
  4. I know a few make grills. I have a ICEMAN work truck grill for the C3500 dually. But I am looking for stock 3/4 ton-1 ton SRW steel wheels, fender flares, and 4x4 conversions for both AMT 2wd trucks ATM make. I want to recreate my 2000 K3500 plow truck. I have the long bed from another kit with matching chassis for the 1500 sport curbside kit. I thought I saw factory style fender flares some place but can't seem to find them. Correct 8 lug steel wheels for the platform seem to be non-existent.
  5. I am just throwing this out there hoping someone pics it up. I for one would love to see a conversion kit to turn Hopper's Blazer into a military version. Obviously, the basics would be grill, grill guard, front bumper with shackles, rear bumper with pintle, and shackles, and antenna mounts. A step further would be a 6.2 Diesel. The last pic is of my 84 called "Sargent Rock"
  6. It also arrived in a bigger separate box. It was not just the best price on the interwebs, but it was well packaged too boot.
  7. I got this 1/8 scale Trans Am. Apparently not a model typically sold in the US. Got this one from Germany. Great price considering what I have seen. It will be a fun build. I think I will do an aftermarket 77-78 nose, and taillight swap to build a Bandit T/A. The T/A used for Smokey and the Bandit 2 was the 80 Turbo T/A. I actually built that one back in the early 80s. I will go nicely with my 1/8 85 vette.
  8. Superb builds for sure.
  9. Mine showed up from Germany Wednesday. Funny to compare the kits by size. I still need to find another 82 Camaro or get the 85 IROC.
  10. A few more pics. This one will always be with me. My brother passed away a couple years ago, and I guess that is why I decided to look for and build this kit.
  11. Beautiful build. I have actually sat in that car as a kid.
  12. Back around 1974 I was given my first model. An MPC Coo Coo Marlin Monte Carlo. I never finished it as my brother took it with him at some point. 49 years later I found one and purchased a sheet of reproduction decals. It is one of my favorite builds.
  13. Thank you everyone. I am happy with the results so far. 2025 is going to be way busier as I am already working on 4 different models, and still waiting on the "Stranger Things" K5 Blazer from Revell to be released.
  14. A couple of them still need finishing under the hood, and after the paint dried on the Airfix Gladiator, I was unsure if model glue would hold it together, so I super glued it. Should have waited to put the roof on as the gas from the glue got on every fingerprint on the interior, and glass. I watched CSI enough to know better than to enclose it till the fumes had expelled, but I still put the roof on trapping the gasses. Dumb rookie move. 2024 was the first time in 48 years of building that I tried patina. Making them shine is easy. Making them look old is an art. I tip my hat to those who have mastered the art of patina, and weathering. Anyways, on to 2025 The whole reason I own a gladiator
  15. You had me at Pontiac Can-Am. Some of the best-looking underpowered cars ever made.
  16. "PRE-ORDER" AMT 1977 Ford Mustang "Hells Drivers" 1:25 Scale Model Kit | Auto World Store I am not sure why this excites me. Maybe because between stuffing V8s into Pintos, and 5.0 Fox body Mustangs, there was a couple Mustang IIs in my life. One with 302, and the other with a blown 468 Chevy stuffed in it.
  17. Finally, broke down and ordered the Trans Am. It will go with my 85 Corvette. I think 1/8 scale cars were around 30 bucks back in the 80s. Paying 6 times that almost seemed irresponsible, and childish. I did it anyways. LOL
  18. So I had a vision of building a Ripsaw from a tank model. It is far from done, but it is as close as I will get for scratch built. It has 4 seats, and the driver has steering controls, gas and brake pedals. Since I was going for a more civilian version, I painted it with Metallic colors, then used a flat clear. I redesigned the fenders too. I will be adding detail to the interior, lights, and glass. I also brought out other off road only models to compare. All look like they will play on the trail
  19. Bringing this one back from the dead. So I have already built the Scout II SSII, and with the other Scout, I am hoping to make a 1980 version with the Nissan Turbo Diesel 4 cyl. I can come up with the engine, but the grill is the difference as it has square headlights. I see a company named Olsen that makes parts for Scout and Bronco but can't seemed to find a good link.
  20. Certainly, a fun video.
  21. I like this.
  22. Very nice. I had the same kit for about the same amount of time. Finally finished it two years ago. I look forward to seeing yours finished.
  23. Me too. Not exactly the Steve Morris 6 second Twin Turbo wagon but still entertaining to watch.
