Two of mine. Both were built simultaneously. The older chevy is not correct, but I liked the scheme. My next one will be based on the 70 Ford police car from ATM. Just need to find out what color they were back then. The green and gold came about around 73-74.

So I painted a 90 Mustang Notchback green and gold with Xtreame Lacquer to make a NH state police car but have decided to make it a California Highway patrol black and white. The black and white needs to be enamel. The lacquer needs to come off. Will a dip in the purple pond work? Or do I need something stronger?

I would love to see a resin/3D 4 door GLH body for the Charger/Daytona kit. Not a powerhouse by 60s, or even today's standards, but still a car with some street cred in the mid 80s. I got beat by one with my 85 Mustang GT, and my 87 LX 5.0. I finally gave in and purchased one. It was not the GLHS, but an 86 GLH. It was a rocket. That was short lived when I traded it in for 87 Grand National, but it was fun.

So I purchased a 10x magnifying clamp light to mount to the desk. Had to move the models out of the closet. I think I have a problem. Collecting has taken over building. Time for more finished storage.

Yes, it is. I am trying to cover all my bases now so I can just build, but I know there is a few things I will still need. Better lighting, and some sort of big glass display case, or more curio cabinets as the first one is full.🙄 I have a homemade paint booth that has served me well and will continue till I need something bigger.

Prior to this, I built on the kitchen table and painted in what is now her room/office. My dedication has been a few this year. I think three. But in my defense, we were looking to move to SC so I did not want to have more built models to worry about protecting while packing for the move.

I want to thank all of you for your advice. I have a homemade paint booth that works great. and vents great. I will be mounting it on a 5-7 drawer cart (as mentioned by a couple of you) so I can move it around since I have to vent it out the window when in use. I do have to find a store size display case as the curio cabinet is now full, and we have a cat. So open shelving displays is a big no no. I keep all my Paints, brushes, tweezers, sandpaper, sand blocks (nail files) in a toolbox. It has served me well, but I want to get a paint storage as mentioned by johnyrotton. Again, thanks for the advice thus far.

I was not sure where to put this. I did not find a category this topic really fit, and this seemed the best place. Well after 15 years of empty nest, I finally convinced my wife to give up the idea of a guest room. She agreed if she could have the office room for her "she" room. I agreed, and now the metamorphosis has begun. Waiting on a new L shaped desk, and chair before the auto related pictures, and signs go on the wall, but it is mostly done. 8 rows of models in the closet. Any suggestions of have-to-have items would be great.

Bringing this back from the dead. I have owned several 1/8 scale Monogram cars. 65 Corvette, 80 Turbo Trans Am, 82 Camaro Z28 Pace Car. The two that eluded me was the 85 Camaro IROC, and 85 Corvette. I now finally have the 85 Corvette. (Boy did these things get expensive.) I must have this Revell version of the 79 Trans-Am. (Boy did these things get expensive.) Plans include lighting both vehicles, and 3D anything that could be improved.

Always taking away everything good and replacing it with stupid. No wonder I am becoming a grumpy old man. Time to cancel Discovery+.

I was looking for a 6.5TD Detroit Diesel myself for the Chevy C3500 dually. It would have been one of three engine choices. 5.7L 350, 7.4L 454, or 6.5L Turbo Diesel. I could go with the Iceman Duramax 6.6 Turbo Deisel as a swap engine.

No. The body got so rotted the state would no longer inspect it. A friend of mine had a Maverick 4 door, and we married the two. A winter of work, and the state would not allow it on the road. It became a woods vehicle for the rest of its life. I think 1/24 scale is about right. Maybe 1/25. Simple kit. Painting it was the hardest part.

In 1984 I purchased a 68 bronco from an old fella who had two rotting away in a field for $400. One with a rotted top, originally white, brush painted blue with a wooden grill. The other one was brown with a lot more rust. I purchased the blue one, and the grill from the brown one. I put new brakes, and tires all around, new exhaust, alternator, and battery. The roof was so rotted it was worse than just removing it, so I took it off. The place on the body where the door hinges were mounted was so rotted the doors broke off the truck. So for two years I drove in rain, sun and snow with no protection from the weather. The bronco would not die. Fast forward to this year. I finally gave up on full size trucks and purchased the truck I have always wanted. A Jeep Gladiator Willys edition. Revell had the bronco model, and Airfix had the gladiator. I painted the gladiator to match using Duplicolor Snazberry pearl with testors extreme wet look clear.

Purchased this beginner model to match my 1:1 version in my driveway. Painted the body panels Snazzbery pearl as Jeep calls it. Then I used Testor's Xtreme wet look clear lacquer to finish. The grill was painted black, as was the rims. I just need to find some 1/25 "WILLYS" decals for the hood.

I was not sure where to ask this question, so asking it here. I am looking for a hobby shop online that gets new release products and is legitimate. What do you guys recommend? Is Kings Hobby in Texas a good place to order from? Thanks

So it may sound like a dumb question, and it kinda is. But We will be moving from New England to the Carolinas with a POD style moving company taking our stuff and storing it for a few months during the process. While I have close to 200 models still boxed, and in totes, the idea of packing my finished ones makes me cringe. Is there a way better than others to pack them safe? Popcorn vs paper/tissue? Individually boxed vs several in one box? I am just not sure the best method to keep them as intact as possible. I know I will be fixing stuff like mirrors, and antennas. I may even cut those items off before packing and keep them with the model they go to. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Any word on a release date. Not much on the interwebs. I have been waiting for almost 4 decades for this year Blazer to come out.

So I wanted to try my hand at patina. I think for my first time it is not too bad. I added a LS1/4L60E combo, and 17" rallies with a front drop. I have to dig in my junk yard for a radiator, master cylinder battery, and hoses. I put it up to the first one I did, and eventually it will be joined by the 4x4 version I am currently working on. The paint was four colors. Rust, grey, and green, and white. Sanded to patina, then clear coated with Testors lacquer dull coat.

Great build. I am building the very same machine. Project X "Hollywood Knights" edition. It was the only version I really liked.

Season 6 ep #7 they removed everything related to the modern hemi and in ep #12 and #13 returned to a fully built 440 that they started with.
