As the engravings on the mouldings are very ββflatββ, making direct cutting almost impossible, I glued individual strips. I used self-adhesive aluminium tape from the plumbing supplies. The advantage of this is that you can easily imitate creased or dented areas. And no, they can't rust, they are also made of aluminium on the original.

I added the rails for the sliding roof to the roof. Revell simply created an opening there. The dashboard, literally a board, has already been painted. I'm using Vallejo Model, Model Air, and Greenstuff World Chrome. And I experimented a bit with paint to imitate faded paint. It looks pretty good in my opinion, but it's not quite the final result

thanks a lot ! It was and still is a Bunch of Work. I take years so far....alone to think about the Wiring in the Cars to hide 'em from seeing. but when i get the new Tires and the Catrs are back at the Base, i see Light on the End of the tunnel....
-
After this very very hot Summer, i managed finally to get the Cars from the Diobase and remove the broken Tires. On the MB the Rims get off, no big Deal. I use the now empty base to took some new Pics of the Alfa 8C. On this i have got Silicone Tires, they are very soft Next Step would be 3D printed Tires, like the one on the Bugatti.A very nice Guy from PMC Dortmund, Sascha Mueller, come to my Rescue !

Thank you all for your Kind Words ! A couple of Pics, taken at the Model Exhibition in Stresa at Lago Maggiore. I was in the Extracontest "Mercedes Benz", but it was not judged....it was the only Diorama.... :eh: In the Room was very bad Light, From Outside the Sun, Inside some sort of Neon Tubes and LED Spots so on some Pics the Road looks like it get Holes or something similar. And really bad Coloring, from Blue/Greenish to Orange......

Hi, i receive some better Prints in February, haven't them mounted. I fear that somthing broke again....but after a Monthlong gap, i go on and rescue the Bugatti.A bit weathering and the Sparewheel get back on the Side. Now i try to remove the Alfa 6C and the SSKL from the Groundplate without Damage  The Tires get also hard and broken, hope i get that. Then go on with printed Tires i hope. Only the Tires on the pitted Alfa 8C are still fine, ok they are Silicone... And i build as a Frustration programm the Revellogram 300 SLR Mille Miglia 1955...but that is also a very difficult Build... So the Host and Server where all my Modelling Pics are Stored is gone, i will post a Link to a new Album.

1/24 1955 Mille Miglia 300SLR, 300 SL and 180 D
smartdriver replied to smartdriver's topic in WIP: Dioramas
Asa always i buil some Things paralell, in this case 2 Tamiya Gullwings. The One for Fitch and another one for the 1955 Marathon de la Route. Here now the Mille Miglia car. I got a Etchset with very fine details and Parts to modify the Kitrims to the used rudge Fast Change ones. A small Windschield on the Hood will scratched. The frame and body where a OOB Affair nothing Special. And meanwhile the Search for a 180 Ponton ended with a Diecast from the Comics Series "Tin Tin" A nice Body and Interior, no details on the Chassis at all a black plastic Part. but as this cars all went on a Diorama its OK. Hope i get them all ready for next Year Oldtimerexhibition, it is the 70th Anniversary of this Race..... -
As i wrote in the "1931 Mille Miglia" Topic, this was planned as aFrustration programme...but who wonders i went in a complete other Direction. I planned to build all Winning Cars of the 1955 Mille Miglia, so the famous Overallwinner300 SLR with Sterling Moss/Dennis Jenkinson, the Winner in GT Classand 5th overall , 300 SL "Gullwing" John Fitch/Kurt Gsell and the very lttle known Winner in the Dieselclass the 180 D "Ponton" Helmut Retter/Wolfgang Larcher . This car was an Austrian Entry, Helmut Retter was the Importcompany for Mercedes in Tirol. So a must have...here are the Originals The 300 SLR is a old Kit from Monogram/Revell. For its Age it is really nice, even the Designers couldn't decide which version they wanted to implement, so the kit is a conglomerate of prototype, advertising and museum car. If you want to build the Raceversion correct, the Chrome over the Airoutlets must go, also the Chrometrim around the Headlights. And one Thing is compeltly ignored by Revellogram, this cars have a complete enclosed Chassis. Here helps only Scratchbuild . Also are the Headrest out of Shape and the Tank cap on the Drivers One have the Bigger Shape of the Targa Florio Car. Well the Decals are Nice, but are also Wrong Type. The Overall Look is good, also the Wirewheels, but remove the Chrome ! Nobody would chromed them, the Chrome is to hard and unflexible to stay. They where Painted. The 3 Point MB Star is molded on the Body, must also remove. On the Real car it was painted on.And i wasn't me, when i build it straight like most others, i want it like i came back to Brescia , that means more Scratchbuild and cutting, and the next neverending Story or Desaster  is on the Way. So it looks after the Race, Sterling has really beaten the Car to its limits. On our Exhibition in march, i started this Project as a Show building. First i cut the Front and Rear Bodywork from the Tubularframe, remove the Direction Lamps on the Frontfenders and fill the not neede Holes on the Sides, where the Chrometrims schould go. The Tubolarframe and the Engine are then a Straight forward Build. relativly good Fit of Parts. The Underbody paneling will follow. I build this as copy from my CMC Diecast. And after the remove and new Build of the small Airintake before the Windshield, the Cutting and damage to the Body began..... As i wrote before the Kit Wheels are nice, but Fernando Pintos are even nicer ? with real Wire.... Here is a Kitwheel with and with out Crome and a Comparsion between Revellogram and FP I ordered a Decalsheet with the Racecorrect Font and a Set of Sterling Moss Heads from Immense Miniatures

a good friend of mine insisted to show this thing on a Turntable..... AVUS+Ton.mp4

Hello, news from Bugs Beach ! Since i have finished my AVUS Project, i need something to relax. So i paint and Weathered the BullyChassis and Interior. The Chassis became a Glossy Black Primer from Green Stuff World, Oversprayed roughly with Createx "Iron Oxide Transparent", then different AK Washings and some cheap pastel Chalks. The Floor , real Wood, is colorod like my Old West Houses, with Oil Pencils and AK Dark Wash. Seats Painted with Vallejo and very thinned Oil Wash. The Cabinets becom a thinned Layer of Yellow Ocre and Umbra Oil, then a more transparent painting with verythinned Grey Acryl. Overnight i leave it to dry, then i sand and scrab this down to the bare Wood and give it a wash with Oil. This achieve the sometimes modern vitage & Shabby Look The Countetops painted with Oilcolors Dark Brown and umbra. Then get a2 layers of Semigloss Vallejo Clear. i added fake Doorhinges on the Countetop. made with small Brasstube and Pins. ready for inspection......

Hi, i know this Video and ome others , they help a Lot to understand how this Curve looks. .
-
Thank you Pierre ! Well the bricks are very nice and easy to work with Real Stone mate for the Model Railroaders. makes it a lot easier. Only to choose the right Size was a bit of a challenge. But the manufacturer was so kind and send me different Probes.

Hello, finally here we go again. I have an original photo and posters stuck on the back, so you know what this is about. First test with the unpainted carbodies, looks good.... I cobbled together or re-carved some, at that time only for specially invited viewers and photographers, from various prizes and 3D prints from Speira Miniatures. With this photographer from Speira, I changed the position of the arms, tilted his head, tried to hide the Comic-like, satanic grin with a little spatula, sanding and a cigarette.... The reclining photographers, by the way based on an original photo, they were really lying there on the parapet!, made up of Preiser, Speira and leftover parts. These two gentlemen are reminiscent of the race directors Alfred Neubauer, Mercedes-Benz, and Ferdinand Porsche, Autouninon. Yes, historically completely wrong.......the gentlemen didn't leave the pits. I made appropriate hats out of the funny tubes. Neubauer was given a stopwatch. and now finally paint the Cars......

Hello everyone, after I was unexpectedly invited to a club friend's 50th party and I didn't know what to bring, I came up with the crazy idea of creating a scene from her vacation. So the more than arduous search for a MB T1 bus began. Nothing to be found, a rather rough toy was found at Toms in Holland and the drama began. Here's the original vehicle The children's toy, in a rough scale of 1/43 Disassembled, new roof, new interior with Kapaline panels, roof ribs and embossing added, doors "pimped up" with paneling and handles. The completely detailed dashboard with decals from the grab box and a bit of detailed paint Luggage space or storage space under the lounger is filled with items from the grab box. Blankets made of tissue paper and cushions made of pieces of tissue, newspapers scanned and printed out, too small for my (actually good) printer to be able to read Dogs from idontknowwhereigotthem modified with Greenstuff spatula to resemble the real ones a little. 2 reasonably matching 3D Duck figures were also found, and the armchair and lounger were made from leftover car seats. Supplemented, yes, wrong scale, with bottles and glasses Styrofoam board fitted into a picture frame, first test to see if everything fits together and what it looks like with LED light, background photo put together from 2 internet finds and printed on acrylic. Processed with AK Beachsand, painted wet in wet with various light brown color mixtures first layer of AK resin tinted with acrylic paint... ........the second, lighter layer......... ......and the final, 3rd, almost completely colorless layer. The end product, with small waves and a bit of "vegetables", doesn't look bad at all, in any case the celebrator had a lot of fun with it Greetings from Vienna ?

The Same as the Brickmats, Jointpowder from https://shop1.ch-kreativ.eu/gb/all-scale/181-verfugungs-pulver.html I've use this Powder also to weather it and some cheap pastel chalk
-
Yesterday I was able to apply the joint compound and paint the 2 white lines with oil colored pencils.I think it looks mostly like the real one ? A little bit Weathering and its finished. The Tamiya Tape on the Autounion is a Help to get the Holes in the Fenders right.
-
Yesterday it was plain white Kapaline, today all Bricks are glued on........now i understand what what the workers did in 1936/37, and they didn't have the brick mats from CH Creative ( https://shop1.ch-kreativ.eu/de/ ), a little bit of joint compound and it's good.
