Revell 1956 Chevy Delray Street Machine - Update 12-25-2013
rv1963 replied to Exotics_Builder's topic in WIP: Model Cars
I like your street machine idea, the engine looks awesome. -
Time for a small update, I have been working on the chassis. I used lots of scrap plastic sheet to fill the gaps between the chassis and the body and there was a huge gap between the firewall and the body of the car that was also filled. I still need to fill the seems and do a little more test fitting before I am done.
-
Thanks for the comments guys, I have always liked to do the detail work on engines.
-
Looks good to me, maybe the guy drove the car blew the engine had it rebuilt and they painted it red, the only can of paint they had in the shop.
-
Well done to bad they never made it that way in real life, I like the looks of yours much better.

Time for an update. The first 2 pics are of the engine with many changes and details added, scratch built magneto, pulleys and belts, fuel lines plug wires and a few others. The third pic shows the body with 2 large plastic bulges on the radiator support and the 2 straps of plastic I think to hold up the hood, both have to go, these items are removed in the last pic and I added some strip plastic on the lip of the fender wells to hold up the hood. The engine still needs to have the paint touched up in a few spots than I think it will be done.
-
Thanks for your reply, I will post an update on the engine in a day or 2, working on the fuel lines and plug wires now.

Outstanding work, over the past 2 days I went through every page of this thread to see your awesome work, can't wait for your next update.

Hi guys it's been a long time since I posted any of my builds, you know how it is life gets in the way. A few pics I of my Iowa Shaker build, the first is just the box art for those who don't know the kit, the second is a pic of the raw engine showing the big gaps in between the intake and heads and the lack of a decent water pump, the third pic shows the scratch built water pump and some of the work filling the gaps, any and all comments welcome.

California Charger F.E.D. update
rv1963 replied to vintagedragfan's topic in WIP: Drag Racing Models
Once again outstanding work, just to clear things up i wasn't trying to hint for you to make wheels for me it's way to much work just to do your own machining i know i have a vintage unimat lathe from the 1960's that i like to play with and make my own stuff it's fun but i am not even close to your skill level, can't wait to see what you make next.- 369 replies

Great work on your Super bee nice paint and i love those engine details, i have one question the raised scoop you added on the rear quarters was this an option because i have seen this on some cars and others are missing it.
-

You guys have some awsome builds going here, is it to late to join i have the Revell 1957 black widow kit that should work well as a retired stock car repainted of course for street duty.

California Charger F.E.D. update
rv1963 replied to vintagedragfan's topic in WIP: Drag Racing Models
Awsome work on those machined parts, cheap lathe depends what you call cheap looks like it works really good to me, you could make parts for a few guys on the forum and cover the cost on that lathe very quickly, once again outstanding.- 369 replies
