Molotow Chrome Marker breakdown

No worries at all. Shipping from the US abroad (to Japan) is insane from almost every company. There are many after market parts, paints, etc. that I'd love to try but just can't because of the shipping costs. Not a real problem as I just have to look for alternate solutions. But it is an inconvenience. Stay safe and enjoy! -

Molotow Chrome Marker breakdown

The pen was just bought today so I have no idea how old it is. I tried shaking it longer and more vigorously, but that didn’t change anything. It was being used over bare plastic when it died. . -
As I am unable to find any Bare Metal Foil at an affordable price, I bought a 1mm Molotow Chrome Marker. It worked well at the start, then suddenly 1/2 ways through a light bezel it stopped working. Do I need to clean the tip somehow or is there a special technique I need to use? Before use I just shook the pen for 30 seconds or so then started to use it. Stay safe and enjoy!

BEsides the obvious of good production and good fitability design and a subject you like, what attracts you to a kit? And why? While I am still trying to catch up with the modern model best practices, I find myself drawn to kits that have detailed engine compartments, interiors and suspensions. Nothing wrong with curbsides, as there are some awesome kits out there, but the ones with open engines seem to get me more motivated. How about you? Do you want kits that have highly detailed engines? Do you want kits that have highly detailed interiors? Do you want kits that have highly detailed suspensions/undercarriage? Or do you want them all? Thanks for reading.Looking forward to hearing everyones’ choices and reasoning. Stay safe and enjoy!

Just a note to tell you that the pages now load for issues 209-212 without problem. Issue 212 download version loads the fastest and is the easiest to navigate. The others’ load time is rather long sometimes and it is frustrating. If you could get the earlier versions with a download option that would be super awesome!

Thanks. I’ll pass on your compliment. Yes, Yuko did an excellent job on it.

I wear my “modeling glasses” and I still have a hard time seeing some of the smaller details. Yes, the mirrors were originally chromed, but I mistakenly dethroned them believing I could bare metal them but chickened out after the wheel arches. -

Thanks for the compliment. Yea, interesting cars usually. I also like the working suspension on it. Thanks for the foiling link! It will help me a lot. Stay safe and enjoy! -

I think yours is a cleaner build overall. My hands and eyesight are way to shot for the photo-etched parts. Really had a hard time getting them placed properly. And even then they are slightly off. The wheel chrome was a major pain and isn’t very clean. Wish I knew how to do it proper. Wheels are sweet. Aftermarket? Did you chrome the side mirrors? -

The kit was a fun build and I learned a lot from trying new things on it. The car is typical 70’s Japanese. I got this in a box with five others on Yahoo Auctions and it worked out to just 1000¥ per model with shipping. Individual models are around 2-3000¥ each. -

Thanks! -
Thanks. Hope this brings back good memories. I’ve only been on Kawasaki bikes while here, but used to see a lot of Cedric’s around.

Thanks for the kind words. Most of the detail is in Yukon’s model. The car is just a straight box build.

I tried lots of new things on this model. First time to use metallic paint. Wasn’t as difficult as I expected, but nowhere near where I want to be. Want that get that dipped in honey look at least once. First time to try smoked windows. Was harder than I thought to get an even coat. I couldn’t. First time to use foil. With practice straight lines shouldn’t be hard, but curves and rounded irregular shapes are far in the future. First etched parts. Were much harder than I thought to position correctly. I couldn’t get them to stick and not leave excessive glue marks. Thanks for taking the time to read/ look? Stay safe and enjoy!
