A ton of beautiful custom work there, and great paint job!

Ken, you are the full package - - - from design to manufacture to assembly, every bit is just spectacular! For the last 8 years, I have been stumbling my way through trying to make a scale version of the Chip Foose Impostor, and you could probably have done the whole thing in a month. I'm soooo jealous

Thank you Carl!

Just a silly build that puts a smile on your face
-
I like your eagle better!

Awesome build of a great car! I drove my first one in 1973, which looked exactly like this kit except it was a pukey avocado green color from the factory (popular color back then for cars and refrigerators )

Luke, I am SO glad you post on this forum! Your builds are so different and interesting - - - this one being no exception. Thanks again for posting!

Fantastic tribute to an iconic hot rod! I love all the details, especially in the engine compartment. Now all it needs is a scrawny young Mackenzie Phillips in the passenger seat

TJ, I just picked this project up again and have been trying out the paint you suggested. Do you happen to remember what your base coat was on your Impala? You got a nice brownish tinge I'm having trouble replicating.

Actually, your restoration photos were the ones I referenced when building mine. I had especially loved the rhinestones! The re-release is faithful to the original, but for a different looking eagle on the radiator, and there are weird circular overflashes on the back of the eagle, as well as the headlight crests.

Thank you Tony

Thank you much Bob!

Thanks Brian! It's so funny, just a couple of months ago, a glue bomb of this model would have gone for hundreds online. I had even offered $80 for a shell of this model and was turned down. Two months later, you can pick them up for $30 and change.

Thank you gentlemen for the kind comments!

I love all the details! Great job

Thanks Glen! If it made you smile, I consider my mission accomplished

Thanks John. If you're interested in cool headers, check out the other models designed by John Bogosian as well - - - such as the Li'l Gypsy Wagon, Li'l Gasser, Li'l Hot Dogger, Li' Stogie, Li'l Yeller, Hemi Howler, etc. Lots of cool headers!

Thank you gentlemen for the kind words!

It's hard to take these fantasy builds too seriously, but on the other hand, that's kind of what makes them so much fun to do!

Have fun building it Bertrand, and thank you for the kind words!

I just got the Round2 reissue of the John Bogosian Lil' Roamin' Chariot, and had to drop everything else to build it! The last time I built this model was in the early 70's, and it was as much fun this time to assemble as it was the last time . For those attacking this model soon, I wanted to include a few observations along with the photos. In terms of assembly, the engine will have no mounting points to the frame. In my case, I added .020" styrene to the frame rails to approximate engine mounts. I initially had the engine parallel to the frame rails, but realized it created clearance issues with the intake stacks hitting the body - thus the engine was moved to its slightly nose-forward position. If I had it to do over again, I would also have moved the stacks a little more forward on the intake manifold. It seems like every photo I have seen of this model, the stacks are rubbing on the body. The radiator interior appeared a bit sparse, thus I repurposed one from my stash to fill in the space. Other than that, the rest of the build was very straightforward. Paintwork consisted fo the following: Engine - Rustoleum Real Orange #327873 Frame - Testors Candy Apple Red #1605 over Testors silver Crest plumes - Duplicolor Elec. Currant Red #DSFM317 Body and shield - Tamiya TS21 Gold over gray primer Tank and steering controls - Tamiya TS35 Camel Yellow Seat - Tamiya TS57 Blue Violet The jewelry idea was from @Mr moparwho posted his beautiful build on this site using 1mm rhinestones on the body, and 3mm ones on the frame. In my case, the former came from Michael's under the name Light Siam Austrian Crystals #739521 and the latter from Hobby Lobby under the name Paper Studio Adhesive Gem Strips #2084028. Thank you Mr Mopar for the great idea! Finally, the tank straps are 1mm fingernail art tape.

Beautiful detailing Ken, especially under the hood!

Very cool project car! I and a few others have done these in the past, and they come out quite nice! If you need extra parts for yours, I have some sitting around...
