  1. Top notch work as usual. But I have a question: how the heck are you going to outdo this build on your next project? You have raised the bar awful high to top this one.
  2. Really nice build, looks the part
  3. I will check to see if I have any Maroon colors, I might try some test plaques
  4. I know what colors I don’t want, Red, turquoise, or white. Colors I set out so far; TS 51 Dark racing Blue and TS 11 Maroon. I may look thru my decals for something appropriate and that may choose the color for me. That’s what happen with my beer truck build, decals where red, white and black.
  5. I have used the super singles front tires many times and do a good job of filling up those fenders. I have not built with any rear super singles on a lift axle. We will see how this works out. Just did a mock-up to get a visual. Everything on this build is subject to change with no rules.
  6. Quick mock-up to get the lift air bag measurement and fuel tank length.
  7. After a day with my wife Christmas shopping, I really…….i mean really needed to get back to bench. All axles mounted, parts from everywhere. Had to add a bushing to the wheel inners then drill to match the rear axle diameters. Running floats on the front, wide singles on air lift and duals on the drive axles. I will able to tuck the wide singles into the rear fenders nicely as they will be affixed in the up position when completed.
  8. Well done, really nice looking build
  9. Nicely done, strips fir the color scheme very well, chassis weather is a nice touch.
  10. Really like where this is going
  11. Looking good, tells a great story
  12. I have seen them a eBay from time to time, don’t know the printer.
  13. It can be stressful in the US as well. Everyone in the sales process wants their cut of your money. Good luck.
  14. Great explanation, I have used 1:24 on a 1:25 build as the lift axle is labeled 1:24 that I am using on this build. I also have noticed that advertised scale is not also correct either. Thanks for jumping in the post. It’s always good to get input from builders who are very experienced.
  15. Quick mock-up after suspension dries.
  16. No, we go online shopping to find what we want and hope it fits/works, then wait many days for delivery. Oh we spend too much money on this stuff we gotta have. And we buy extra because we might need it on another build. You just sit down and make what you want.
  17. Love the creativity, that will look awesome
  18. Adding third lift axle with locating fixture. Will use slow dry epoxy to attach frame stands so I dial in the location. I drilled and pinned the arms so I can rotate the axle , may build this with axle posed in the up position
  19. The KW eight bag air suspension is on with a few details to finish. Installing this suspension without all the locating tabs from the original frame creates some concerns, is it square and are the axles spaced correctly. Couple years ago I made a fixture to help overcome those issues. I can use the fixture for a two axle or three axle setup. found a steerable front axle in my parts, that will built next, then third air lift axle.
  20. I am speechless, I am so glad to be in this group. Brian, thank you very much for the offer. So many people in this group have offered to help with this silly idea of a build from printing parts, sending parts to just bouncing ideas around. Thank you, I thought I was just kinda out of luck so I marched on with the eight bag KW air suspension. Post up progress in a while.
  21. Agreed, probably no issues
  22. Agreed, most hot rods from my youth were built from whatever you could find/ accumulate. This is my idea of a Resto Rod, a 1:1 truck I built in 92 and 93. this is a 1960 Chevy pickup, all I got from the seller was the sheet metal and frame ( unfinished project that I bought for 200 bucks) Engine is a 402 big block from a camper special Chevy truck) Turbo 400 short shaft from a pile of transmissions, rear axle from a 70s Transam with 4:10 gears and posit track, front suspension from a 72 Chevy half ton truck, redrilled rotors, driveshaft from an Elcamino, steering column from a GM car, wheels from a Corvette (rear) and from a Mote Carlo (front) and so on. I retained the mostly original body just updating the running gear
