This was a very nice kit to build... lots of pieces and opportunities to customize. Everything fit nicely with great detail and I was able to dress up the engine a bit. One problem is that the engine is a 396 big block but the fender decals are for a 409. Both are correct for the year but they don't match. In my opinion the Chevrolet body designs from 1965 to 1970 were the best they had ever created and this 65 SS was a pleasure to build and brought back a lot of memories.

Finished the Revell 1965 Chevy SS... mostly stock but I tried to replicate the nice 65 SS I owned in the early 70's. Changed the stance with some lift blocks on the rear axle and used the american racing 200s mags and tires from the revell 1970 charger kit. Took a bit of adjusting and spacing to get the wheels to fit but it turned out ok. I planned on doing a very deep candy red paint job using Tamiya clear red over glossy black but kept running into paint crinkling and wrinkling problems. So I left it in glossy black with some bad patches of orange peel.... I'm about 80% happy with it.

Seems like all companies have decided to use the Covid event ( Social Instability) to gouge the consumer and wildly increase their prices and now we are seeing the reports coming out of all the record profits they are generating. Rustoleum has bought up it's competition and will charge whatever they like and we have little choice. The competition that's left will also increase prices because for them that is the smart thing to do... this is a serious world problem and not just a hobbyists headache

My 1970 1/2 Z-28 from 1974... I remember many Sunday mornings replacing the broken U-bolt on the right side traction bar. My eternal nemesis was a bright white 1970 Hemi Cuda. We would meet on the street or at Pacemaker Automotive at least once a week. I'm working on replicating it with the 70 1/2 AMT Z-28 kit... Cheers DanL

50 of the 1966 GT350h were delivered in red... It's a rare car and a nice change from the black. I never owned a mustang but have always appreciated them, especially the earlier ones. Cheers DanL

The apple red is a nice replacement for rich deep reds like ferrari and BMW red. The paint is very good but I did use a black primer, so there are several coats on this model.

Finally finished the GT350H... It was a tough build and I ended up buying a second kit just to finish it. I think it's an older molding so I had difficulty with some of the fitment but got it to work eventually. Then the paint nightmare began with the second coat of red turning into a wrinkled mess. Tried to remove it all with oven cleaner... no go. So I bought a second kit and did get it painted quite well with Rustoleum Apple Red. Lucky I did buy that second kit because the decals were a bigger nightmare than the paint... ultra ultra thin and positioned to fit over numerous deep curves and valleys of the body, I ended up using both sheets of decals to get through it. I resorted to cutting the single decal of the hood into 7 separate pieces and then piecing it all back together again. I'm just glad the build is over and does not look to bad. Sorry about the poor pictures. I'm working on improving that.

Revell could tie it in with the Roadkill guys just like they do with Foose. I bet it would be hugely popular. You see a lot of people trying to build a 55 gasser from scratch or combining kits and it just doesn't work. Revell is missing a big opportunity here.

Blasphemi !! We need a real good quality 55 Chevy Gasser kit with flip front and a great custom header display in the wheel wells.

There is one large decal for the engine-turned dash, and then separate decals for each gauge. I just kept adjusting them until they fit right and used a setting solution a couple of times. Turned out better than expected. I'm totally new to the hobby... built my last model 55 years ago, but I have noticed on the two I just built that the decal quality is much, much better, although I find it the hardest part to do. Forgot to show the hood open...

I owned a 701/2 Z28 before the Trans Am. The Z was by far the most exciting but it was set up as Pro Street car... Traction bars, 4.11's, cheater slicks, air shocks and heavily modified 350 LT1 engine that I could never get to idle below 1000 rpm... super fast and super reliable. The Trans Am was mostly stock and really felt more like a stump puller than the Camaro, but was still a sexy car and very rare. Going to build a duplicate of my old Z28 but I have to refine my skills a bit more because it's going to need quite a bit of modifications and aftermarket parts.

Thanks... I think the steering wheel turned out just right but I should have painted the inside ring on the gauges in black. Have to get some proper blue for the scoop
