  1. It turned out pretty well... thanks for the comments DanL
  2. The color I was going for is officially called " Special Light Orange" code #WT5107 as seen on a 1968 Shelby GT500KR on May 17/2024 at the Mecum Indianapolis Ind. auction. Cheers DanL

  4. Saw a "Bright Orange" 1970 Mustang cross the auction block recently and really liked the color with black accents. I used Krylon Pumpkin Orange with a white primer base coat and got a good approximation of the Bright Orange color. The paint went on easy and the bare metal foil also went smoothly other than the glue residue left around the edges. The glue removed easily with soap and water. This newly tooled kit is a great build with a few issues. Hopefully we will see more of this quality kit coming from Revell in the future. The decal kit was a treat... really nice quality and full of extras to add character to the build. I made some changes as I went along including a front end drop of 2mm, Spark Plug wires and Boots, and a Dip Stick. The problems came from a front end that sat too high and bumpers that had vague mounting points. I recommend building this kit even though the 71 mustang may not be everyone's favorite. (I think they should have done a new 1970 Mustang in all it's variations) Cheers DanL PS: The engine blue is much darker without the camera flash

  14. Really nice freshly tooled kit with lots of fine detail. Some small issues particularly with the directions, such as showing the valve covers mounting upside down and some unclear mounting spots. The hood with hinges mounted is also very finicky. But all in all a pleasure to build. I obviously used a non-factory color but it turned out well with the white stripes. This was my second attempt at using bare metal foil and it turned out 100% better so I'll keep using it. Remember to wash all your parts before painting ... I ran into some issues with grease or oil left on the sprues. Highly recommended kit
