  1. Engine looks great. I would go cowl induction opened in the back only if the carbs won't fit under stock hood. Thinking chevelle style cowl since its a bowtie.
  2. Replying to Alan comment about the minibike in the dodge truck kit it is a Rupp minibike. It is also in the dodge dart kits. Mickey Rupp was an independent mini bike manufacturer in the late 60s early 70s. He built his own frames and put primarily Tecumseh engines in them. We were a dealer for him knew him personally super nice guy. I know this isn't the subject of the thread but I couldn't help myself hope you guys enjoy my little know fact.
  3. I used to put the thin red or white sidewalls on 1/ 24 scale tires using a semi truck rim. Maybe find a 24th scale rim or even a bottle cap close in size paint some acrylllic white on a piece of cardboard dip the rim in it then press onto and remove from tire. Best of all if you're not happy it washes off with water.
  4. Model round up has a lot of discontinued kits. You might also look at resin manufacturers. I filled a lot of gaps in my collection that way.
  5. Blacksheep214 What chrysler are you looking for 62 dart ,A body dusters demons and valiant available in resin just need a donor kit Of course you will be close to $100.00 when you are done but I was trying to fill gaps in my collection and it didnt matter as much to me.
  6. I build my kits and am all for box a art reissues but if they are a lie let me know Examples 76 duster that was a dart 69 roadrunner with 68 chrome tree in box 70 valiant scamp short track car was a dart I am sure there are more examples out there.
  7. I used to use testors fabric spray for my vinyl tops and conv boots. It left a rough texture. As stated above could try to intentionally orangepeel the paint. If you try to put a decal over the rough texture I am not sure how well it will work. Might want to experiment before doing the actual car.
  8. I mistakenly ordered 2 of the Chevy kit. Bashing them together now to make the wedge wide enough for dual wheels and a single axle. Going to do that one as a 76 dodge with the Cushman duster kit car on it and a 73 grilled dodge with the plymouth scamp kit car on the mobius ramp truck.
  9. I am thinking 440 in the bed with headers mounted upside down. Maybe a rear engine dragster to donate the gearbox??
  10. Stick the grill in it hood on it then see what you have. If I recall radiator support and firewall also fit snug against fenders so maybe insert those also. Been a while since I built that one.
  11. Dsummone Wish I saw this thread earlier Competition resins makes a 73 duster pro stock and the body will fit right onto your dart kit if you want the exact model. Only thing missing is no side marker lights. Grill and bumpers are not chrome. Grill and tail are correct. I built one as a 74 w the blackout hood and grill treatment.
  12. Steven guthmiller I did a hemi under glass onto a 69 amt cuda worked great. It was a while back so don't know if 71 duster donor would work or not.
  13. Going back to the round 2 whining when I got the 65 coronet I was disappointed it had the RB engine and the upswept manifolds because in 65 super stocks had hemis. Built is as stock 440 car because 426 RB motor was only plymouth. Then I bought 3 more and built my 62 Johan fury super stock my 63 Johan fury super stock and a 63 polara resin super stock. So a glass can be half empty and half full. I am more than excited to get a 68 coronet convertible. If I don't like the chassis I will put a different one under it. Thank you round 2 for any contributions to our hobby.
  14. You might want to look at mega hobby I found a yellow spray, bomb of aircraft paint very light and dried to a flat finish. If I am picturing your dart correct might be a good match. If you airbrush they may have it in the bottle also
  15. Just happened across this thread Going to build the scamp myself but 340 4 speed from 71 duster kit for engine trans combo. It would give you the correct swinger taillights for 70 as they didn't switch to the 2 piece until 71.
  16. 1972coronet Could you accomplish your build with the 71 scamp from bandits and I think harts has the bumper and light maybe
  17. For the mopar guys hart resins has the 72-73 and the 74-76 dodge pickup grills avail if you do not want the 78 grill.
  18. Any 1996 and newer gm monogram nascar kit has them
