  4. It doesn't really matter what is worse, since both happened. Man, it sucks to the square. I know exactly how you feel. In 1997 I lost my garage/workshop to a fire caused by my 1994 Buick Park Avenue self igniting. The Buick, my 61 Imperial Crown Southampton, my 73 Chrysler Newport and in excess of 1500 unbuilt model kits were destroyed. Since the Imperial and the Newport weren't registered at the time, they weren't insured. Neither was my kit collection. This was only months after a very costly divorce. I never really recovered from this. No matter how strong a character you are, it leaves you traumatized.

Paul once said he couldn't see where he was driving because of the camera man acting as a hood ornament, so he had to use the overhead street lights as guide.
  6. When I saw the headers and fenders I immediately made the Milner's Deuce connotation too. It prompted me to make a direct comparison before I say anything: After seeing those two pics side to side, I did a reality check and found that apart from looking similar, the components aren't even remotely close enough to use the word 'same'. I'd say they need as much modifying as the parts I have already in current issues will need. On a different note: Has it ever been clarified where the intake manifold and Offenhauser valve covers of the Milner Deuce can be sourced?
  7. I can understand a lot without understanding the words they say. One thing I clearly understand is that there seems to be an aftermarket industry in Japan we can only dream about. I sum our's up with one sentence: Not even proper bloody door handles since 1958.

  12. Seventies cars ######? I wish they'd make a model of my 78 Caprice Classic, the best car I ever owned, and not by a narrow margin. Even its 'italianesque' design with those "incredibly ugly tacked-on 5 mph bumpers" stood the test of time very well. When it comes to American cars, give me full sizers please. Nothing is more American, than an American full sized car.

  15. There was only one version of the 5CV, the Trefle. There were various versions of the C4 however.

  17. I find that decade is grossly underrepresented. For decades I ask where the models of these cars are. Apart from the Caprices, and the 76 Caddy by the Modelhaus, there is absolutely bugger all in terms of fullsize family cars. Same goes for European stuff, absolutely nada. The Japanese stuff is comparatively well represented though.

  19. I remember these kits well, toy shops were full of them. But now they are all but gone. Haven't seen one in years.
  20. My father is not a car guy at all, hence we never had anything special to drive. When I got my license, he had a Renault 16 TX exactly like this one: and my mother had a Renault 4L exactly like this one: and a Citroen H-Van for her business, exactly like this one: I would drive whatever was available to me, on weekends that was mostly the H-Van. Came in handy at all those open-air festivals.
