  1. I happen to own a '75 Cordoba. But why would anybody put a 340 where a 440 fits just as well?
  2. Very true. 37 years ago, I was eight, and around this time, I built my first ever plastic kit. It was an Airfix Ariel Arrow. My father, who is an excellent modeller, albeit he is doing railways, guided me, so it turned out halfways decent actually. I just imagine putting the unbuilt Ariel I have in front of my daughter, who is 11 now.
  3. Mine drove Renaults Maybe that's why I never turned into a Mopar enthusiast.
  4. David, I always had the greatest admiration of the 'early' guys who could actually make something out of a heap of building bricks like this. Put this in front of an 11-year-old today. Thanks for showing it to us.
  5. I was five when we got our first TV, a black and white one - and I don't mean the casing - for watching the lunar landing. So now you know what age I am.
  6. One can program an 8-Track? What did I miss all my life?
  7. Or maybe this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mgjNq-Y8NGk Or this: Great build, m8!
  8. OK. [anorak mode] The Max Wedge package, which included many drivetrain and chassis modifications, was available in all 1962, 1963 and 1964 B-body Dodges and Plymouths (330, 440, '62 Dart, Polara, Polara 500, Savoy, Belvedere, Fury, Sport Fury), except 1962 station wagons. Dodge called the package "Ram-Charger 413/426", Plymouth called it "Super Stock 413/426". Only in 1962 it had 413 cubic inches, for 1963 and 1964 it was enlarged to 426 cubic inches. The Hyper Pak was a parts package made available from 1960 through 1962 at Chrysler Corporation dealer parts counters. It could be installed into any car running a slant six. The Sonoramic Commando engine was available in 1960-61 Plymouth Furys only. The same engine was called differently, when used in other Chrysler products. [/anorak mode]
  9. Yeah, I bet he has long hair too
  10. We are here for the fun of it and not to out-model each other. For the latter there are contests. I do not consider myself anywhere near the good ones on this here forum, but I would never hesitate to show what I make and I welcome all comments, be they positive or negative. One can only learn, And learn I did since I'm here. A lot. At this opportunity, a big thanks to all who helped to make me a better modeller.
  11. No, I don't.
  12. A Max Wedge is in the AMT 49 Mercury. It's a RB, so it's a 413 if you say it's a 413. Slant Sixes are in the Lindberg Mopars. They are Hyper Paks if you say they are. The Sono-Ramic was in the Jo-Han 1968 Chrysler 300 of all things, and in the AMT 62 Imperial, equally of all things. You can install them on any RB and say it's a 383.
  13. Wrong again. These are three litre coupes.
  14. I always thought in NZ or Oz it would hang off the ceiling after something like this happens...
  15. I use this for colour inspiration lately: http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/showflat.php/Cat/0/Number/338226/page/0/fpart/1/vc/1 I also use IMCDB.org, of which I am a member as well. Once I decide, which model car I build, I often buy an original sales brochure off I pay. I can always sell it on, when I'm finished and don't want to keep it (the latter rarely happens). I also have a vast collection of original paint chips.
  16. wow, this would make one kewl hearse!
  17. How come I knew it's going to be black before I clicked into the thread? Well, still better than auction-red I guess. Superb paint job btw. and a stunningly beautiful car.
  18. Wow. I knew one can disagree with somebody's opinion, but I haven't yet realized how much one can disagree. On all accounts.
  19. I visited a friend in Germany, who only collects 1/24-25. These were in this stack, so I had to lift them off him:
  20. What do these shorties feel like at 80 mph?
  21. *ohnosecond*
  22. Nope, they are not related. The Shaguar is the old Revell E-Type Roadster. Contrary to the Monogram, nee Aurora, coupe here, it has a fairly accurate bonnet, errr...hood. I find the Aurora hood way too 'stubby', resulting in incorrect headlamp angles. The best thing to do is mate the Revell hood with the Aurora body. The Heller coupe needs to be chopped a scale inch or so - the roof sits too high.
