  1. I understand it is against forum etiquette to advertise one's Ebay auctions?
  2. I think we only have to watch the auction and we will see that this is going to be a no sale. Nobody with even half a brain will spend this money on a plastic model kit, no matter which one it is. If you want to find out, what a kit is worth, post it on I pay for 1 penny and see what happens. All my kits are listed for this amount with no reserve and I have yet to be disappointed with a sales result. I find prices for old kits are generally on a slight downward slope, thanks to the 'crisis' for one thing and more and more collections hitting the market due to the fact that we are nearing the era where the first-time-around collectors are passing away, leaving the collections to their heirs, who sell them. The same development can be seen among the model railroaders, according to my father, an avid railway enthusiast and collector, who turned 70 last year. He is considered a young gun in this hobby.
  3. I can second the freezer method - without water. Just freeze the model and it almost falls apart by itself.
  4. I hope this isn't meant literally like in the exploding paint booth thread?
  5. I'm hoping for better weather too.
  6. It rained Corvettes: It seems, I'm not the only one here who is into SF? Here are two 1/24 scale additions: And another 1/20 scale Mitsuwa Jeep:
  7. Title says it all. Does any resin caster currently make a Pete 351 ?
  8. Lemme guess, lemme guess, let's see whether I'm right or not... They are from the AMT 73 Mustang kit.
  9. I totally agree with what is being said here. I think the only feasible choices are the Fujimi and the Italeri, the latter aka as Testors. I haven't seen the Hasegawa in the flesh yet, but I do have an Italeri and the body proportions appear to be good. I think the kit can be built into a plausible model.
  10. Here is bit more about Mr Park: http://www.craftsmanshipmuseum.com/Park.htm So yes, he has a lot of spare time on his hands - he is retired. And yes, he does know Mr Wingrove.
  11. Hey, there is a way to find out.
  12. Is this a model of you watching paint dry? One of my favourite pastimes too, there are not many things more exciting. The trouble is, no matter how close I watch my paint jobs dry, they never ever turn out as nice as yours.
  13. This is the finest form of model building. Congratulations!

    It's a Safari

Why the mismatched wheels? The East African Safari Rally is arguably the toughest contest in motorsport history. The 1975 edition - and this model depicts one of the entries of this year - was plagued with severe weather conditions, which turned the roads into mud. Generally the Stratos was totally ill-suited for the venue anyway and Lancia struggled to keep the cars in the race even in years with better conditions. In the muddy conditions of this particular event, both teams, Munari/Drews and Waldegaard/Thorszelius found that the cars developped extreme understeer, to the extent, that they were practically undriveable. In an attempt to get more grip for the front wheels, the Lancia technicians decided to mount the narrower 'Monte Carlo' wheels up front. It didn't help. The event was won by Ove Andersson / Arne Hertz with a Peugeot 504. No Stratos has ever won the Safari.
  15. Please let me take the liberty to bring the existence of such an organisation to your awareness: It is the NIPCC http://www.climatechangereconsidered.org/ This organisation was formed by scientists, whose research was not 'hot' enough (pun intended) for being considered inline with the political desire to launch the global warming scam on us. May I please also draw your attention to the fact, that the so-called 'petroleum companies' are enthusuastically pushing the global warming scam, not least via their front-crook Al Gore, an oil salesman, since the global warming scam was invented for one purpose only. It opened a completely new field for these predators to diversify into emissions trading, which is another trillion Dollar business. Contrary to the Federal Reserve scam, you don't even have to invest in printing paper - you get filthy rich just by shifting figures from one database to another. The bankers love it.
  16. ...but these are the most amazing pieces of modelling I have ever seen. I'm sure this man's work is going to inspire all of us: http://www.baylinerownersclub.org/forum/showthread.php?t=41357
  17. Yet more rare plastic in 1/20 scale, this time courtesy of Frank. Many, many thanks, Frank, I'm well pleased with the kit! Teaser pics on the side of the box, so unfair....
  18. Errrr....what exactly is 'snow'?
  19. So much for a Porsche 935. Now, can you please show us the MODEL you built of it?
  20. [anorak] The pods left and right of the bumper do not contain taillights, only the back-up lights and cat eyes. The taillights are up in the fin pods. Those body extensions that contain the headlamps on the real car are diecast metal, not plastic. They weigh about half a ton each. [/anorak]
  21. I only hope you guys are well stocked up with liquid refreshments?
  22. I cannot thank you enough. You just told me the solution to a problem I had the past 35 odd years.
  23. Can you please elaborate on 'do the topside'? Do what?
