  1. The Jo-Han Torino can actually be built into this Movie-Car as well.
  2. I actually quite like our little secretive elusive nebulous cell of diecast conspirers down here.
  3. Even the most detailed kit is worthless if the overall shape is not right. Mitsuwa captured the lines particularly well, Fujimi not so well, and the ESCI was pure, unadulterated tosh. Not sure which US-spec decals you expect aside from numberplates, but I'll be surprised if they threw in OMG5MPH bumpers, side marker lights and Sealed Beams.
  4. Just the top painted so far, but you can already see it waking up.
  5. Bit more interior work done: There is not a lot you can do, really, unless you scratch an entirely new one. Currently doing the instrument panel.
  6. So I didn't RC. I know one Street Rod series kit had the Chrysler FirePower, one had the DeSoto Firedome, and one had the Dodge RedRam, but I forgot which had which. OK, now I know the '53 Ford has the DeSoto.
  7. Excellent! Includes 392 Hemi IIRC?
  8. How does it compare to the old Mitsuwa kit?
  9. We can also send these Chinese craftsmen to America for two or three weeks to study the real car and shoot their own reference photos. But they might actually enjoy it, so I guess that's the end of that.
  10. That '53 Ford Pickup - the old AMT box art is shown with all those nice custom parts, but then there is a MPC part number for it. Hence I wonder which one will really be reissued, the AMT, or the MPC Flipnose/Tiltbed?
  11. Hard or soft evidence or none at all, the rear deck/overhang of the Moebius appears too long and I see this without any comparison photos. Also, the beltline kickup is too far forward. It starts half a foot aft of the door on the real car and immediately behind the door on the model. Can this be corrected? Wouldn't the necessary alterations to the tool be too severe? The other inaccuracies Harry and Bill pointed out I wouldn't even have noticed, but it looks to me like both gents are right (well spotted!). This is Ertl's 1/18 diecast effort for comparison: The rear overhang length appears to be correct, whether it is or not. The rear window reaches behind the rear wheel centre line. But the belt line kickup is also too far forward and let's agree not to talk about the C-pillar treatment, which is already way better on the Moebius as is. What about the distance between the bonnet (sorry, hood) and the windscreen (sorry, windshield)? Certainly too big on the Ertl, but I'm not sure whether I'm entirely happy in this respect with the Moebius either.
  12. It was also the most often nicked one, IIRC.
  13. It's the translation. I don't have an opinion. Well, actually I do, but let's pretend I don't.
  14. I do hope Moebius is considering new tools of the '59 Dodge, '59 Rambler as a sedan and not a wagon, and all GM '74 Colonnade coupes, first and foremost in Pontiac Le Mans flavour with the rear wheel spats included. I don't care much about the Turbine car. Sorry, but I just don't. You can't possibly beat the original Jo-Han kit anyway.
  15. Translation: The children of the 1980s are now grown up - first on the back seats as whining passengers and later at the wheel of their first used car, for which they had saved up their money so long and hard. The children of the 2000s will now ask themselves why the children of the last century have such an esteem for the new kit "Hurrah, finally a Golf GTI". Well, the answer is obvious: Finally, many can fulfill their nostalgic dreams and have their first car immortalized on their desk; and the somewhat younger have the unique opportunity to add another legend to their collection... Looking at the parts trees we ask our readers not to forget that these are still test shots - which still show some roughness in the material and flash here and there... Our preliminary conclusion is however, that the new Golf GTI by Revell will be a worthy addition to the new developments of classic car kits at a probably absolutely unbeatable price! 16. Let's keep this our secret in the diecast section and not tell the kit guys...
  17. It's a shame, because that Welly Diecast Buick GSX is ten times nicer than that naff casualty by Monogram.
  18. Oh thank you so much for your help, much appreciated. I could just be, that I will get another one of them in an upcoming deal. Maybe. Maybe not. If yes, it'll be available.
  19. Well, I see it as a disassembled diecast, so I decided to post it in this section. Maybe we can say, if it is an unpainted kit, it should go in the model cars section, if it is painted kit, it should go here?
  20. I'd say if they were sold as kits, they should go in the model cars section. If they were ready made, they should go here. Oops, where does this leave my Bolander Impala?
  21. I do. If you PM me your address, it'll be on the way.
  22. MK10s are gorgeous cars, I had a real one back in the 80s. Unfortunately it proved too bulky to be practical on these shores, an issue you sure wouldn't experience in America.
