Awesome build Jeremy. The interior looks great with that body color. Keep em coming. Don B
  4. Hey Jeff, I use a little more of the reducer then it calls for. It helps the clear layout like glass. Plus its the cheapest part of the system.
  5. Hi Jay, I shot one coat and waited five minutes then shot one more coat of clear. It dries fast but not as fast as lacquer. I shot it at 25 PSI through my airbrush and then put it in a dehydrator for about 2 hours at 125 degress. It was competely dry and ready to handle. Its not cheap but a quart will last you a lifetime. I bought mine a couple of years ago so I dont know how much it cost today. If you spray medium wet coats and keep it clean you dont have to wet sand it after. The shine is awesome already. I hope this helps. If you have anymore questions please just ask. Don B
  6. Hey Raul, I Put the BMF on a body once then clearcoated it but it made the BMF look more like it was silver paint. Did'nt like it. I agree with you. I have'nt had any problem with it sticking after the clear.
  7. Thanks Raul, No the BMF was applied over the clearcoat.
  8. Hi Everyone, Well I had the Charger painted Testers 1203 red and Testers Model Master high gloss clearcoat shot through my airbrush. Then it happened!!! I drop the body and chipped it good. Well it went into the purple pond to be stripped. After that I had to start all over again from filling the side marker lights and repriming the whole thing. Again I painted it with the Testors red however this time I used PPG 2001 Urethane Clear. Much harder finish. I love this stuff. Well back to work. Heres some pics. What do you think so far? Don B
  9. Hi Mike, A great primer to use is Plasti-Kote. Rattle can. You can buy it at most auto parts places. It comes in different colors including white. I also use automotive PPG Concept 2001 clear urethane(multi part) over a lot of my color coats including Testors enamels. The best thing for you to do is get some plastic spoons and test from primer, paint color to clearcoat to check for wrinkles. I am going to post a pic on the workbench of a 68 Charger conversion with a urethane clear coat soon. Take a look. I hope this helps. Don B
  10. Thanks again for taking time to help. I like the sound of the seven minute pot life. More time to pop the bubbles. o o o o o o
  11. Thanks for your input. I went to BMF'S web site and got this info. Is the mixed viscosity of 60 cps good? PHYSICAL PROPERTIES: Mix ratio, by volume 1A to 1B Hardness,Shore D 65 Pour time, 1 lb. Mix 2 ½ minutes Demold time 15-30 minutes Color, cured White Mixed viscosity 60 cps.
  12. Perry's Resin makes Maverick kits of a few different years. From what I have read on the message board it might take a while to get it. Hope this helps.
  13. That color looks ###### good Ron! Only thing is now Im in the mood for some candy. LOL
  14. Hi everyone. Is there anybody out there who has used a resin made by Bare Metal Foil called Polytek Easyflo-60 polyurethane casting resin? If so, is it easy to work with as I am new to casting and want to buy a user friendly resin. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Don B
  15. WOW. Thats a beautiful collection of Mopars. Nice detail work. Im impressed. Keep them coming.
  16. Looks really good Ron. Looks like you mastered spraying lacquer. Nice glossy finish. Keep up the great work.
  17. Very nice build. Excellent job all over.
  18. Welcome Aboard. I think you will like it here. Im new here too. About two weeks. Everyone is really helpful. Nice looking Challenger. Great build.
  19. Hi Jeff, Awesome build. The color really kicks. Keep up the great work. Don B
  20. I also use a bow compass to do my redlines. Works great. The only thing I do different instead of dipping the quill into the paint jar. I dip a paint brush in the paint then I put just enough paint in the quill to do one tire. It runs down to the and of the quill and is ready to go. Less mess. Just another tip.
  21. Thanks william, I color sanded and clear coated it today. Its in the dehydrator now drying. I hope to polish it out in the next couple of days.
  22. More pics of the Charger as I move along. Fresh out of the spray booth. Next into the dehydrator to cure. Than the clear coats begin. Firewall almost complete. Still working on chassis slowly but surely.
  23. Great choice of color for the Bee Ron. Cant wait to see it with the clear. Don B
