If i understood correctly the Unicolor printer uses both a true white and a true black toners

I've kind of researched this subject lately, trying to figure out a way to overcome the short comings of "Home" decal printing (transparent inks, no white..) since all the "Old" solutions like Alps or Oki printers are really old by now. so i came across what seems like quite expensive solution although it can still be affordable lets say for maybe a group of builders who want to share a printer. it's an American company called Uninet and the printer model is Icolor560. there are some videos on YouTube of guys producing excellent looking water slide decals with it (for diecasts).

just a small update, slowly working on small parts and sub assemblies. Engine mostly done and painted, still need to add plug wires etc.. making and painting tiny parts, slip and drive yokes, steering box, distributor, tie rods painted and assembled the wheels the frame is also painted, front spindles and drums attached (the are actually pinned so i might make them posable)

1/25 vintage go kart, my last 2024 build

thanks, i might put them on cults, ill post here if i do -
i was able to buy the old monogram 39 Chevy coupe, what a nice piece of kit!, i will be building it as a Gasser, inspired by many photos on the web. suspension parts, wheels and tires are 3D printed (some from Scale Speed Garage and some of my own design) I will use the Kit's engine as it's quit good, but will add a set of printed Gasser headers. i started by removing the molded mufflers and gas tank from the frame, than added the front and rear leaf springs and front axle (all 3d parts) also primed few more parts and painted the underside of the body flat black. haven't decided on body color yet, might be gold or orange

AMT IH Scout II
eran_k replied to eran_k's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
well things didn't well quit as good, even though the body and the printed hood were primed exactly the same (mr sufacer 1200 gray) and painted the same time with the same paint, somehow the hood came out in a different shade of green. the decals were also pretty bad, tore up in few places and remained wrinkled no matter how much decal set i used. never the less it's done. i'll try a better job with the next one (someday), maybe i'll get the other version with no top. -

Progressing along, this is a fairly basic kit so not too many details. i finished the chassis and interior and shot the first coat of paint on the body. i think ill add some darker wash to the the seats to try and enhance some details. i sisnt bother too much with the engine bay as the hood will be probably glued. -
As my first 2025 i choose the AMT Scout II. from looking up reviews and builds i knew the hood is too curved so decided to fix it, hot water didn't seem to do the trick so i tried putting it in a dehydrator...the results were "unsatisfying".. so i went to plan B - make a 3D printed hood, also decided to make an older style grill to see how it looks. once i was happy with these parts, i primed everything and now im waiting for the primer to dry

This is my last 2024 project, a vintage go kart in 1/25 scale that i designed and 3d printed. it's not a specific model but rather based on images i found online, it's mostly based on a 60's rupp. the engine is also roughly based on a period correct "west bend" engine. hope you like it, it was a fun project. Happy holidays and new year!

Heller Renault R8 Gordini
eran_k replied to Nacho Z's topic in Other Racing: Road Racing, Salt Flat Racers
not to hijack your thread here are the 2 photos i have of this build, im going almost OOB just enhancing a bit with couple of 3d printed items like carburetors, muffler and roll cage of my own design. as for the "bowing" of the section in front of the rear engine lid, i thing it can be fixed by either cutting in the middle and taking out a tiny section or it might even work with gluing a piece of plastic strip underneath -

Nice build, working on this one myself and although it's a simple kit i didn't find it too bad. -
