Moebius 1971 Lifted Ford F250 4x4 announcement
Erik Solie replied to Erik Solie's topic in Truck Kit News & Reviews
Well, now that the kit is here there will be spare parts available in a week or so. Maybe e-mail customerservice@moebiusmodels.com with your name and address as well as what parts you need? I'm sure you'll get a total that is much less than a full kit. -

Moebius 1946/7/8 Chevy Announcements
Erik Solie replied to Erik Solie's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
Nope. They're going to be pretty much as the Galaxie Ltd. ones were, with only a few small changes. Mostly on the legal/licensing logos & such. Too many other things in the works to find time to re-invent the wheel. I've got three more Chevies I'll be announcing shortly (none of them a C-10), four Mercurys, and half a dozen Fords (some pickups in that batch) that ALL need to get instructions, decals, and boxart put together, proofread, and rechecked again. And we're too slow already! Erik -
Time for more announcements. Chevies this time around. The Galaxie Ltd. tooling has all been acquired by Moebius Models, and it's finally ready to see some action. These are all being molded in Korea at the Academy facility, so will be great production quality. New decals for all three kits. No changes for the parts as the tooling was done old school style, and there's no 3D files or anything like that to work with. The one and only change we got done is the frame sprue now has a protective runner around the bumper mounts so they will be better protected in shipping. Retail price is $49.99 ea. Stock #'s are as follows 2301 is the Aerosedan 2302 is the Coupe 2303 is the Sedan Delivery We hope to have them on the market April/May. All three running at the same time.

They go together quite well, but keep in mind they are older kits are were not modern CAD designed kits. The "I don't glue the bodies on my kits and only snap them over the chassis" crowd will not be happy with how the breakdown between the front fender clip and body goes, and you REALLY have to glue the main body to the floor/firewall to get them to sit properly. As much as we'd love to tweak a few tabs & fit issues, the tooling can not be modified - only run as is. The only thing we were able to get done is to have a protective runner added to one sprue around the frame so that hopefully the bumper mounts won't get broken so often (a problem with the original kits - ask me how I know......) The build up shown in the first post took me about two days to put together, but that's making notes, proofreading the instructions, and answering the continual stream of in store customers saying "Hey, they let you build models at work?!?" More to follow Erik

Any update on the Moebius '71 F-250 lifted 4x4?
Erik Solie replied to Matt T.'s topic in Truck Kit News & Reviews
We stand corrected too, as only the first production run on that kit had the 250 setup. We corrected it for all subsequent runs (no dome lights or 8 lug rims for box art). Kit components never changed (or needed to). Erik -

Coming soon. Moebius 1971 Lifted Ford F250 4x4 Kit # 2567, and has some really special bits and pieces in it. Chrome "mudder" rims and tires, including a spare in the bed (on a rack), roll-bar, front bumper winch, gun rack (with irons), lifted suspension, and a very special decal set to surprise you when it gets here! Thanks, Erik Moebius- 20 replies

Only secret is to get it, I think you've got how to use it. Experience is in the past I made my own with acrylic flow enhancer (any art supply store will have this) and acrylic paint. Don't go to heavy on the flow enhancer or it takes forever to dry. Nuln oil is pre-mixed to a very usable tint, so easy-peasy-lemon-squeezie.

Moebius 1968 Mercury M100 Announcement
Erik Solie replied to Erik Solie's topic in Truck Kit News & Reviews
Yes. There are several shipments going to Canadian distributors. If your local shop says they can't get it, they need to ask their distributor to get some. Erik Moebius -
Eh, it's just all mundane and boring work issues. Imagine it's like one of those long winded word problems from grade school (at least they were there in my day). Something like this: Fritz has three model car projects that he wants to bring to market. Fritz is a founding member of the league of one armed modelers, and has many friends and league members. Fritz hires Sven to help him on these projects, as Sven is very talented and has done great work for Fritz in the past. But Sven only eats Durham wheat strudel on Tuesdays in Smarch. So to cope with the global strudel issues, Fritz has to contract thru Johannes for extra paper for the free-range cricket enclosure that is maintained by Ole. Ole has the capacity for all this, and sees an opportunity to improve efficiency of production for Fritz. Fritz likes this idea, and wishes to implement it in these four three projects. What is the coefficient between how much will Fritz's sales go up by for implementing Ole's improvements verses the ratio between Sven's strudels and Johannes's free-range cricket ranch expressed in Dainish Kronner?

That's a Model King decision. If they are out (I thought they still had some), I know that Pegasus Hobbies still has it.
