I looked for pics found this one and went for it. It was my same color scheme so... Could have looked for a better angle.

Prewired 8cyl distributor install

I went with a Gopher Racing pre wired distributor. First time using add on. Came out Ok. I was over cautious when trimming so the cables might be too long. Cal -
Test fitting interior tub. Check. Can't tell from pics but tub fits fine. I wish the carpet were blacker and the column gauges clearer. I went with a Gopher Racing pre wired distributor. First time using add on. Came out Ok. I was over cautious when trimming so the cables might be too long. Cal

Broken front Chevy emblem was beyond repair.

Fun to watch your progress John. I built a 1:16 version when I started back into the hobby I thought older eyes need bigger parts. I like how it came out. This was before I was comfortable wet sanding and polishing the body so I settled the clear coat as is. And I too like the '57 Chevy and your color choice. I look forward to your build. Ps. I've been wanting to flip that steering wheel forever.

Not giving up yet. I've taken it down with 1000 grit for the nasty stuff. Trying not to get down to the stripes or decals. I don't want to strip ot or buy another so I will do my best and finish the project. I still have other new things to try and plenty more ways to screw it up. Cheers.

Did you hand paint the wood trim? I would like to see your process. -

Review of Revell's new chrome spray paint

I've heard good thing about this particular brand for it's shine. Also that it can be hard to find. Is it worth the price +shipping? -
Your work is incredible and an inspiration!

Are you referring to the runner line on the bottom? Now that you mention it, I see it. I was a little heavy on all the lines. Front end seems a bit high :(.

Interior I'm going more towards fine detail and craftsmanship rather the an original or realistic approach. There's a difference, right? BMF on center console WOW embossing powder for flooring. First time using that. Liquid Chrome pen (first use) on glove box, radio, seat backs and steering wheel. I used MM WOOD for the wheel. Wish it was darker. With I could do a cool wood grain effect. On the dash and gauges I wanted the "glass" effect. Tried clear super glue, Mod Podge (first try) and white glues. The dash was all one chrome piece, no decals. Added some black wash.

Body Work I really wanted to follow all the tips I collected over time to produce a really nice build. I was pleased with my first attempt at body modifications. I chiseled off the wipers and scribed the window frame for future PE parts.
