  1. ................got some bench time in this evening ,more frame prep,,,should get some stuff painted this weekend
  2. Thanks Brian,,I use a piece of brass rod as a "center bolt"
  3. ................a little more progress,,been busy with my full part time job,,lol ..............brake chambers added,,I removed the kit front axle and nailed on a CTM metal axle kit I had ,, now fitting the tanks and batt boxes/air tanks, then sprinkle some brake valves and air lines then paint the chassis.I forgot I had a 3D Concepts Hendrickson RT rear suspension kit I was going to use ,,,,next build!
  4. ....................every time I see the AMT Cummins engine, I'm reminded of how many times back in the day I snapped the cover bolts off those Perry Coolant Filter housings ,,,,lol
  5. I did a B-61 dump using a GSMT cab kit ,the AMT R685 and the Montone dump body from the Autocar kit ,will be interesting to see how they do this one as far as engine/chassis
  6. I used a 3D Concepts winch on the front bumper of my FDNY wrecker Gary
  7. Ha! I wish someone would 3D print a nice Holmes 600 or 750 ,,the 750 I did a year or 2 ago I got on Shapeways and while it was decent it wasn't spot on as far as scale
  8. I was joking,,I'm going to build them as tractors....eventually ,,,lol
  9. Thanks Lee! I was gonna ask you if you needed any ,I have a couple I bought just for the dump body....lol
  10. .................not a lot of build time this week but I managed to get the 71 painted and ready to install ,,,I'll weather it up a bit during the final
  11. Lee,I started with the B-61 dump of putting stone loads in,,I make a false bottom with a piece of styrofoam and use model train ballast glued to it with diluted Elmers
  12. 1990ish C500 with a Challenger wrecker body
  13. Karl's (GSMT) interior tubs come out pretty nice with detail painting
  14. That would make a brute of a wrecker build!
  15. This is the only picture I have of that car,,lol just the tail end of it hooked up to our 16ft Glasspar at my Grandparents house on Long Island ,,this was probably Spring of '67,,thats me next to the boat and thats gramps 63 Impala in the garage,,he bought a new Impala in 68 ,Dad bought a new Chrysler New Yorker in 69
  16. Nice build,,I'm seeing more and more of those Scania cab overs on the roads in my area
  17. ..................the AMT Autocar kit is the gift that keeps on giving! 😉 gotta love it ,,nice Lee
  18. Thanks Gary ,,Karl has a couple different model Brocks, been pretty happy with his stuff this will be my 4th (Mack Granite wrecker/ B-61 dump/Leach garbage body) and I have the GMC 9500 short hood on the shelf waiting
  19. Thanks Brian,I also got the GMC 9500 short hood from Karl,,I'll use the General kit for that one,,probably build as a tractor
  20. ..............after trying a few rads I had from parted out kits I made my own with some photo etch mesh ,strip styrene and the Autocar fan shroud with some alterations, used some parts from the Acar to make a fan hub bracket . There was enough material in the 3d print interior tub to hog out and not punch through for the little bit I needed for compressor clearance .I fitted the grill to the rad shell,,this will be painted white with a black wash in the screen and the Brockway logo chromed and installed after cab paint. For rubber I'm going to use the Autocar's front floats(I have a few floats from Jamie and ST Paul but they are wayyy big) and the rears are from Jamie, the rims will be Dove Gray and spokes semi gloss black . I'm fitting all the assy's on the 71 now and running fuel lines etc. take a pic after paint
  21. Attached and modified the front bumper and bumper to fender filler plates to the front clip and used the Autocar front fender support brackets. Made up some rear motor mounts and that should give me some room to mount the compressor to the accessory drive and still have clearance on the front axle to oil pan. The Mack radiator is too big,,I have one from an L-8000 ,,see if I can get it inside the shell far enough for fan clearance,,, once I have that figured out I'll finish up the engine details and get that painted Alpine Green 😉
