  1. The Autocar - Holmes 750 was 3D printed ,I got that on Shapeways ,, but the mast/booms are not quite to scale ,,a bit bigger than 1/24th
  2. Parts and sales brochures I have ,,need measurements .I'll keep searching though!
  3. I tried that already Charles,,,I've contacted Miller Industries who bought out Holmes ,,,can't help me ,,,I went so far as to contact the Towing Museum in Chattanooga Tennessee ...old brochures/pictures/sales literature is no problem . If it comes down to it I would scratchbuild ,,but some dimensions would be nice ,,,,I went through this with the FDNY and my Autocar wrecker
  4. I got this GMC General kit laying around.......and it needs an 1801 Holmes!
  5. The Transtar II was/is a great kit!
  6. Yeah,,I guess a tribute ,,I watch his videos ,,he's a character! ,,,,,,but the name " Cardillo" rolls off the tongue nice so I used it,,,,lol thanks Jeff
  7. .........nothing beats a buzzin dozen !! gonna be sweet!

  9. ...........home brewed Gold Leaf ....lol
  10. Exhaust components painted,in the dehydrator , installed the rubber inner fender splash shields , BMF on the butterfly hood ,fabbed up air inlet for turbo ,painted ,in the dehydrator ,,have to see if I have any hood latches laying around
  11. Thanks Brian, what I did was with clear inkjet decal paper print out the lettering in the font I wanted a "dulux gold" color with a black outline, then hit the paper with Tamiya Flat Clear ,then I hand painted each letter inside the black outline with Tamiya Chrome Silver, and then when that dried followed up with Tamiya Clear Yellow and a hint here and there of Tamiya Clear Orange and Clear Red ,,then hit again with Flat Clear
  12. I'm going to make inner fender "splash shields" from the mudflap material I have
  13. Cab is one with the chassis, started exhaust system, pass side mirror and fuel tank on, attached front bumper ,I did that with BMF so I can hold that if need be instead of the grille/rad shell .Did the "gold leaf" decals for the red panels that will go on the dump body .I'll do the cab signal/head/marker/park lights and air horns last
  14. yep,,even with a lot of drying time it's hands off,,,I had mine in the dehydrator also
  15. Clear coat dulls it up a bit,,,it's more durable than Alclad though ,,the radiator shell/grille not being a separate part,,makes it a little tough to work around
  16. .............reminder to self> DON'T KEEP TOUCHING THE REVELL CHROMED PARTS DUMBASS !!! lol
  17. ..........clear on ,interior tub almost done,,,have to put in the glass and then some BMF
  18. .....................shot the clear...in the dehydrator as we speak,,,it really brought out the sparkly in the Tamiya Bright Mica Red
  19. .........that thing is just begging for an Auslowe 8V-92 ,,,, jus' sayin' lol !
  20. Here's a pic of the underpinnings...I did a bit of black wash on some stuff ,,,probably going with a theme of a "clean but somewhat normal dirt and grime working restored repowered 1965 Mack B-61 dump truck" lol .Also put the decals I made on the doors,,,,considering I had to hand paint the "gold leaf" in my black outline it didn't come out too bad ,,,should show up better on the panels I'm doing for the dump body .I might clear coat the cab tonight so I can get rolling on assemby
  21. Brian,I took a piece of rectangular tubing and sliced it about a 30 degree angle at the pump end,,sorta making it like angular reinforcements ,and drilled a hole where the pto shaft would go thru .The other end is attached to the crossmember I added at the frame stretch point . I'll make sure and take a picture next round
  22. ......................last test fit of cab with interior tub before I start getting serious ,,,,lol
  23. .............driveshafts & pto shaft made/painted installed ,spokes and rims painted/mounted/installed ........ going to attempt the "gold leaf" decals with my inkjet printer and then Tamiya silver, clear yellow/orange /red
  24. Made a parts run to FDNY today,,,hot item ......off and on rain couldn't mow so I shot the chassis and stuck the engine in ,,Revell Chrome on the radiator
