  1. Thanks Gary,,I might put the company name on a piece of Evergreen sheet ,red to match the cab ,in "gold leaf" lettering just above the long body bar
  2. As long as the pops aren't under the paint! lol,,,yeah even though the black shows all the sins ,,,it should look good with the red cab/frame and chrome radiator shell/aluminum tanks .I think I'll do the rims white and the cast spokes will be red with the frame
  3. Tomorrow,,if I don't have to work,,,,,I'll hit the tanks with Alclad polished aluminum
  4. Thanks Ron,,I thought so too,,,I sorta countersunk it on the backside
  5. I used the Dumas brass piano hinge on the hood,,I didn't think it looked that bad,,shot the cab fenders and the dump body black,,started throwing some brake valves and air lines on the chassis.Made a hyd pump support bracket and hung the pump
  6. I figured I'll see what it looks like only dimension was .360 opened so it's a guess how it will look on the butterfly hood,,,I have the ones you have to use if it looks too big
  7. Ron,,I have those which I may use but I ordered a piano hinge from the wood boat kit company Dumas ,, I'm going to see what that looks like 1st...it's complete,,15 inches long,,,you cut it to size Miniature Piano Hinge .360″ x 15″ #2120 – Dumas Products
  8. .............took a ride up to Chestertown N.Y. EMS to pick up a rig today,,4 hours up 4 hours back up the NY Thruway,,thru the Adirondacks......part time/full time guy ,,lol ....anyway did a bit on the Mack,,made an oil bath air cleaner from some of the R model kit -cut that down and shortened the top inlet and added a piece from an Auslowe Donaldson air cleaner ,,massaging the hood, going to use piano hinge and have to do latches. Probably shoot some black on the dump body this weekend
  9. ..............a little primer ,a few print lines have to be sanded/filled and some ejector pin marks I missed on the dump body,,a little more on the engine and chassis. Been all over the innerweb looking for some Mack interior green,,,this Mr Color is close ,but not exact
  10. ..........sprinkled on some Maxidyne Gold ,,,have to detail paint/ add wiring-alternator and some other bits ..................I'm going with polished aluminum round fuel tanks I think that will go well with the red frame/red cab-black fenders/black dump body . The frame is stretched and reinforced with c channel inserts ,,just have to dab some filler on the parting lines,, probably add a crossmember in there too
  11. Looking good Michael! I was friends with Claire on FB for a long time,,,he shared some good stories and pics,,,same with Jay Howell ,,,,gave me a lot of info on the F Troop Willys,,,,both rest in peace
  12. Built up the dump body,, needs just a tad under a 1 inch frame stretch ,,,started plumbing the injectors
  13. Ron,,were those on Amazon? what size? / link,,thanks man!
  14. I might use that on the Mack instead of the MCG photoetch hinge
  15. no problem buddy ,,,that cab would make a nice pumper!
  16. Charles,,, Global Scale Model Trucks (Karl) he was at the NNL on Saturday ,,,I used his Mack Granite cab on the FDNY Wrecker Resin model truck conversion parts
  17. Ok,so everything seems pretty good so far,the 675 should fit no problem, the B fits good on the R chassis and I can use the R cab mounts.I narrowed down the R's radiator so it would fit the B's radiator shell,,I filled the gaps on both ends with thin Evergreen sheet and trimmed to the same profile as the rad. Initial measurement for the dump body to cab clearance allowing for the stack and everything shows just a bit of frame lengthening might be needed. I may go with the round fuel tanks with the steps built in that are in the R's kit,,not sure yet . I have 6 spoke Auslowe wheels for this and Jamie's tires. I decided to go with a red cab/black fenders, black dump body and red frame. Going to try and do my own "gold leaf" decals . I have Model Car Garage piano hinge for the butterfly hood,, that should challenge my eyesight! lol
  18. Work continues on the B61 ,,I'll take some pics tonight, had to work today ,make a run to Car Craft in Staten Island to p/u a remount they painted,,,while I was waiting I wandered around and took some pics,,,tucked in a corner were 2 show truck builds in progress and old purple Pete that was an old show truck back in the late 80's that's getting rebuilt and an early 90's Western Star custom build .A 2002 FDNY Saulsbury Rescue getting rehabbed ,,some new wrecker builds and a brand new Boars Head truck
