  1. I gotta get at least two of these...maybe three...
  2. I'd love to see this and the Rabbit kit reissued!!
  3. Love the engine!
  4. Great colour and finish!
  5. Beautiful Ford!
  6. Ooooo...how did I miss this new Ira build? Very cool so far Ira...you do build some wacky-cool stuff...wow!
  7. Nice, Tim! I'm thinking Ford Wimbledon white would be fitting. Maybe even just testers or tamiya white...got a ways to go before I spray colour! Gotta fit a chassis under there after some clean up of the body and a coat of primer.
  8. I love the retro graphics on this car so had to at least start to build it...I love the 60s era of NASCAR and this one also takes care of my desire to build a Ford COT. So, here's what I got...Power Slide decals, Mike's Fusion resin body and the AMT 2010 Chevy COT snapper. The resin parts have had a Wesley's bath and a soap and water soaking. Once dry I'll shoot some primer. I'll need to adjust the wheelbase on the chassis, but I'm only planning on a shelf model, so the snapper chassis fits the bill and looks like it should fit the body. Comments and suggestions, fire away. This is my first resin conversion, with a could more in the line-up!
  9. Thanks for the comments, I appreciate them. April 5, 2063 was the date in 'First Contact' movie that Cocrane ran the Phoenix and the Vulcans then came to visit. My son is thrilled with the build. It has been a long time coming and I finally decided that I should get it finished!
  10. Wow, that is quite a build, Harry. Nice work with the panels. Patience will pay off, I'm sure!
  11. I bought this kit in 1992 and finished it last night, apparently as luck would have it on "First Contact Day"! (Actually, 50 years before...April 5, 2063, from the movie "First Contact"). I built it for my son, who is the biggest Star Trek fan in our family (We are all fans). Gave it to him today after taking pictures. All paint work was done by brush, except for the stand which I spray painted. I'm happy that it turned out all and that I finally got it done! My son is happy with it, which is what counted for this build. The full PB album is here. Enjoy and please offer any comments or critiques. Thanks! The smile says it all!
  12. Nice line up there, Rich! Beauties every one!
  13. Good to see this back on the bench, Erik. Looks good!
  14. Thanks for letting us follow along, Kenn. Inspirational build once again!
  15. So many good car chase scenes...'Bullitt', 'The Blues Brothers', 'The French Connection', 'The Italian Job', 'Dirty Mary, Crazy Larry', 'The Gumball Rally', 'It's A Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad, World', 'The Love Bug' (I love all the Herbie films!), 'The Driver' (Ryan O'Neal), 'Gone in 60 Seconds' (Both), 'Ronan', Just about every Bond film...I'm sure there are a few more that I've forgotten for my list...too many to like!!
  16. A few days late and a dollar short...Hope it was a very Happy Birthday!! Here's to many, many more!!
  17. Love the weathering. Fantastic job on the chassis and engine in particular. The bird nest is a nice touch that shows it hasn't been run yet!
  18. Thanks, that takes care of the major paint colours!
  19. Thanks for the info. Good to know for sure! Now, the darker blue on the suspension parts. Any secret formula there or just something a little darker?
  20. Very impressed! Jack stands, clear valve cover and gauges, and on and on...this is going to be a fun one to build! There is some flash, but nothing that looks any worse than other kits. I'm pleased with my kit! So, is the Petty racing red from the NASCAR line of paints that came out a while back a good match for this? How about the Petty blue? I think I have a spray can of each left. I used them on my '92 Fan Appreciation Tour Pontiac I built a few years ago. I remember the red going on flat and rough but smoothed out with the gloss coats. The blue went on smooth and shiny.
  21. Just got one of these home...gonna go take a look at the inside of the box...been a long wait for this kit to be reissued! Oh...I paid $39.99 Canadian at my LHS.
