  1. Cool tip on the CA applicator. Thanks!
  2. Cool! There was a 1:1 kit for the focus to make it a V8 with rear drive, so your concept isn't too far off!
  3. Another way you can break the surface tension of the water is to add a little bit of dish soap. Would accomplish the same as what the future does. Greta build, Harry!
  4. Beautiful work Peter! Great to see you back and around...I do remember you starting this...really two years ago...wow...best of luck with the new venture as well!
  5. Nice model and figure...as for the inaccurate scale of the sand... Nice work!! The B&W pics sure add to the look!!
  6. Not much to report in the past 5 months or so...no pictures, anyways! I did manage to put some electronics on the right side of the dash in a recessed shelf, which came out okay. Will put some pictures up when I get a chance and hope to get back to the bench soon, since the building season is coming!
  7. Russian company, apparently, got the licence from Pixar...no Fillmore the VW Bus, must be. VW licence issue, perhaps...look like fun little kits.
  8. 2 Benchs or seperate work areas (1 'clean' for assembly and 1 'dirty' for sanding etc), spray booth (properly vented outside) and a drying cabinet, compressor and airbrush of course, racks for paint (maybe a solvent cabinet for paints, thinners etc, also vented outdoors), racks, cabinet or shelving for unbuilt model kit boxes...are you displaying your finished models in there as well or just a workshop? Enclosed cabinets are great for keeping dust off models! There are some decent display cabinets available, but are spendy. IKEA has a few that could work, or watch garage/yard sales or antique/used furnishings shops. That should fill up the space pretty quick! Another thing I thought of is a shelf train or slot car layout around the top of the walls of my office...been trying to research as lots of possibilities out there! I probably have enough AFX HO track or Eldon 1/32 track!
  9. Yup, the math sure works in your favour!!
  10. I'll probably pick up one or both of these anyways...still need to get the Tamiya 66 as well...got too many projects that I absolutely want to build first, but you never know!! I'll watch for your builds whenever you get to them! I might have to join IPMS...hmmm...
  11. Geoff - I'm curious as to how the kits are overall...how do they compare to the Revell and Tamiya for example?
  12. Congrats, Tom and good luck with the job search!
  13. Nice grab on that! Good luck with the resto and keep us posted! The early Gen 2 cars are my favourite of the F-bodies.
  14. Music..CD, radio or iPod. Occasionally, even the odd cassette!
  15. Make sure you have room left for 1:1trophies, too!
  16. A quick "grocking" of the kit gave me a great impression of the kit, Hugh! I'm looking forward to building it eventually!
  17. Similar style to what was available in North America in the 70s. VW did a lot of interesting building strategies in different parts of the world, including sending bodies or kits to be assembled in some African or South American countries.
  18. Saturday I picked up the 1/48 Revell B-17G...built a 1/72 as a kid and always wanted to replace it...finally did, just a bit bigger! Nick - Nice haul and congrats on the plaques!
  19. Man, that looks like a great kit...may have to see if I can swing it for one...
