  1. Wow, the weathering on this is absolutely stunning! So much to look at in a single model. Great job!
  2. What if...VW got into NASCAR in about 2010... Kit: No name 2010 Impala COT snap kit. Kit decals with variety of VW decals and a Herbie decal from other sheets. Driver: Jim Douglas III Car: 2011 VW Passat COT Number: 53 ("Herbie") Fictional back story: VW wanted to get into NASCAR after seeing Toyota's success, so the PASSAT was announced in 2009 by VW for the 2010 season, starting at Daytona in February. One team was started as a two car team. Here's the entry for 2011. The driver (Jim Douglas III) turns out to be the grandson of legendary driver Jim Douglas, who campaigned a 63 VW Beetle #53 (Herbie the Love Bug Disney movies) to much success on a variety of race courses around the world in the late 60s through mid 70s. He's had some success, but was looking for a new start. Anyhow, Here's the car: VW Canada has stepped up to help as well as a model car company, Auto World with sponsorship for several races. We'll see how things go! Wish us luck! This was a fun build that took me more time to decal than put together!! More pictures in the album here.
  3. A few more: Here's the link to my photobucket album with more pictures: Apollo 11 Album Enjoy! Comments welcome.

  6. Hi Ira...stands about 30 inches tall... And not one has any safety gear on!!
  7. Nice airliner. Nice to build something out of your normal every once in a while.
  8. No, just spectators, I guess...civilian garb...no space suits, unfortunately.
  9. Revell 1/144 scale, aftermarket decals. Finished the build today...and I didn't take WIP pictures! I have the paper models of the LUT and crawler yet to build to properly display this...in the meantime I did finish the base that came with the kit and the 3 12mm tall people standing on it...will get pictures of that later... I do plan on getting better pictures and show some of the detail a little closer...this is a tough subject to photograph compared with cars!
  10. It has a nmae, too...Cro-Magnum... http://www.helleronwheels.com/steves-cars.html And apparently it also won something at the 2011 Grand National Roadster Show... http://www.helleronwheels.com/ I'm torn...there is some stuff to like...the craftsmanship is top notch.
  11. I tried a few things with this tonight...easy to use and the crossover function is neat. Thanks for this, Michael...I appreciate the time you took to do this and to share it with us...more fun than a calculator!
