Revell 90' Mustang LX Notchback
Musclecarbuilder replied to Musclecarbuilder's topic in WIP: Model Cars
Oh yeah that would be an awesome engine to put in that car, if it fits that is. You should supercharge the coyote (If you decided to go with that engine) that would be wayyy cool. Thanks for the complement! I was really nervous about the paint, it had several issues but I was able to buff them out. (Praise god) The paint on yours looks great too. -

Wow it looks awesome! -
Yeah thats a really good idea, being a guitar player I should try that with some spare string!

Another thing you could do is paint the brake/fuel lines silver with a toothpick. I like to do that with my box-stock builds.

Revell 90' Mustang LX Notchback

Right now the engine bay has been painted the same color as the car, hopefully I can wire it completely like the real one. You should put a Coyote in yours, since its a widebody. That would be so cool. -
Revell 90' Mustang LX Notchback
Musclecarbuilder replied to Musclecarbuilder's topic in WIP: Model Cars
A small update; I just got the engine wired up with some Pro Tech 30 gauge wire. I used a Gofer racing Pre-wired distributor for the spark plugs. All that's left now is getting the interior and the suspension together and it'll be all downhill from there. Thanks for looking! Plug wires: After wiring the alternator/AC compressor: Test fitting the Turbo from intake (It's not gonna stick that far out in the car I have to trim the tube connecting it down): Few more pics of the engine: -

Thanks Terry! Thanks Carl! Thanks Curtis! Yes sir I do! My dad's car didn't have a turbo but this is my own version of the car and I definitely would have put a turbo on it. I should have another update for you guys later this evening or tomorrow. I appreciate the complements! -

By far the coolest paint scheme on a Studebaker I've ever seen. Great Job!

Well I've been working on this little car for a few months now, its a tribute to a car my dad had in the 90s-00s. I shouldn't have started another build but I messed up on the 68' Shelby Gt500 and lost interest in it. (It ended up on the shelf) So I picked this kit up at a 40% off sale at hobby lobby and got to work. My Dad's car: (Sadly I don't have many pics of this model to show in the prepping stage because my phone was set on high efficiency picture mode, which this forum can't upload, so I'll just put a brief description of what I've done to the car before I show pics of what it looks like now.) The first thing I did upon buying this kit was cut the trunk out, with the way the headlight and taillight buckets are in the kit I wanted to try LED headlights/taillights. (Which was inspired by Duddly01) I bought the lights off Evan designs and I must say they are very easy to put together. It's literally 2 different colored wires you put together with a 2032 coin battery and voila! You have lights. After cutting out the trunk and building the inner trunk I bought some tiny (And when I say tiny I mean TINY) magnets to hold the trunk to the body. I glued the magnets down with epoxy so they wouldn't break off later. Once all the bodywork, sanding, filing, cleaning up parts, etc... Was finished I painted the body with Mr. Hobby 1500 black primer. Then I wet sanded it with 2000 grit sandpaper and sprayed it with MCW Gloss Black enamel. When the enamel coat dried, I wet sanded it with 3000 grit sandpaper and shot MCW 2K on the body. I let the body sit for a week to cure then polished it with almost every polish known to man. After polishing I sprayed the window trim with Tamiya semi-gloss black. While I was painting the body and letting it dry, I painted numerous engine/suspension/interior parts black, aluminum, chrome, grey, blue, and all other sorts of colors. I put black flocking as carpet on the floor, used a bobby pin as a Hurst short-throw shifter, and started wiring the engine. I got the Cobra R wheels off ebay, same with the 3d printed turbo. I plan on having the car finished by August 24th, which is the Huntsville model show. Thanks for looking! The body currently: Most of the parts I've painted that are ready for assembly: The windows were masked and painted semi gloss black: The Dashboard: The trunk with its TINY magnets: A closer look on the engine/suspension parts:

Its the same Revell kit, I'm not doing the wide body version BUT I am suping it up a little. I'll start a WIP on it here soon.
