Monogram '32 roadster: a red-headed step-child.

In case you haven't guessed, I rather enjoy MADHSQUIRREL!!!!! Anyways.... I'm building this for a friend who's winery burned down a couple of months ago. It's going to be box stock with candy paint and his logo on the side. Don't tell him, it's a surprise 🤫. What is the purpose of the large hole in the firewall with nothing supplied to fill it? Nothing in the instructions nor on the trees. I'm fixing it, I'm curious if there's a purpose for it.

You really shouldn't drink and paint. No one should have to suffer an IPA to begin with 😵💫 -
No. That will not do though.

I received this guy today. My pops had one before he went into the Army in '66. 289 4 speed car, black with red interior and chrome reverse wheels. I don't know that I want to replicate that or not.....I'll have to confer with my head Squirrel about color choices..

Createx has a Metallic Charcoal that would look good with the black(in the squirrel infested playground of my mind anyways) -
I dig it. In the summer of '87 I was 15 and working in a Phillips 66 station. The owner's paw-in-law, Jim, brought his son's '39 Chevrolet coupe to the station one Saturday morning. He said "Chris, I think Jimmy's car has a miss in it. Take that thang around the block a see what you thank". It had a '63 Corvette 327 in it. I pulled out, went a block and turned left. This car had the lightest throttle return spring I've ever seen....I pushed the pedal and it collapsed to the floor! This car took off like a jack rabbit! I have no idea how fast i got up to, but I was scared to death! I got back to the station and Jim was grinning and said "Hmm, I guess it didn't have much of a miss did it???" He busted out laughing. I guess they heard it. These are cool cars for sure. I'll patiently await your talented progress 😁

I haven't been into a can, but, when I had cans filled at a paint store there was a straw going to the bottom of the can.
-
Can you turn the can upside down and run an awl into the nozzle passage? If it's upside down you should only get repellent out, right?

Looks good 👍

My friend put 400,000 miles on a '79. These are cool cars. The green will look good. To avoid bare/light spots in the flocking I use the same color paint as the flocking. I do a section at a time to avoid dry spots. White glue works well, but may leave the underlying color visible(primer or body color).

That would be wicked with an 8-71 blown Eldorado 500 ci transaxle in the back. -
If you want an original looking paint job, remember they weren't very smooth from the factory. All of the cars had orange peel back then. If you're weathering the exterior, it won't matter much in the long run if you sand it. 🪙🪙

I like mocking them up to see if I like the direction I've started in. Wheel/tire combo, stance, fit, overall "attitude" of the build. Don't hesitate to ask questions, it's a great way to learn. -
That Slant 8 that was installed in the Sidewinder would be killer in there.

An emblem goes there.

I would have LOVED hanging around and listening to those guys build that car. All those years of legendary experience!!!!!
