Does anyone make a '57 Buick Century?
59-Desoto replied to LDO's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
The closest one that comes to mind is the 57 Road Master by ModelHaus , could be done with a few trim changes . -
Wow thanks , looks like I'll have to get a couple of them . Things are looking great so far with the mock up.

Problems with testors gloss white 1245
59-Desoto replied to Darren B's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I had started to ask if anyone had had a problem , I'm wondering if there just may have been a bad batch of paints make it's way to the store self. I've never really had a problem before now. But on the other hand this is the first can paint I have bought in a long time as well. Most of my paint is bought in a jar and used in a air brush. -

59-Desoto replied to trogdor's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
It's not a real problem unless your wanted , I like the idea of real names as well here in this form. Think it add's something that other place's are misssing. -
It was called FORD MAGICCRUISER-1 and haven't seen a picture of it in years , I kinda thought it was a cool car in it's day. I believe it could have come close to a production car , ford did a second version of it in 1967 MAGICCRUISER-2. Ford always seen to come up wit some great ideas in the past as well as a few bad one's to LOL. FORD MAGICCRUISER-1 FORD MAGICCRUISER-2

Chrysler Discontinues PT Cruiser
59-Desoto replied to 59-Desoto's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Well most smaller cars folded like tin can's , always like the retro design but it was what it was a small under powered car that started with a bang and ended . Same as many cars in our life time , Edsel , Corvair and so on. If you were born in the 40ies or 50ies then you"ve seen a lot of then come and go. PT Cruiser will be just one more we'll add to the long list. -
Well looks like the little under powered car is about to become a memory , kinda wish Chrysler had keep up with the times adding more power under the hood and a few upgrades over the years , I remember when it can out a lot of cars guys were adding some great paint scheme's to it. My daughter wanted one so bad , had some fun one Christmas and bought a die cast placed it under the tree after I had a friend at a Dodge dealer make me two new dummy keys. Gave her the key's and told her they were for her new PT Cruiser. Well to make a long story short it didn't go over well with her LOL. I keep a can of Braso on hand it makes a great all round polish for glass and even rubbing out paint work. Just one more product you may want to keep in mind. -

Might check E-Bay I saw three on there yesterday from 24.95 up

I have had luck using brake fluid to remove these type of paints,in some cases I have had to do a light sanding to break the finish so it would penetrate and attack the paint. Dont use on a resin body.

Some were I think I seen a 57 ambulance but still a lot of fab work will need to be done. Love to see it under glass , it would be a cool piece for sure.
