  1. Someone on this forum awhile back recommended UPOL clear#1 it comes in a 16oz. can. It's an acrylic lacquer, it has a nice spray pattern from a can. It's thin and lays down nice with wet coats. It costs about $15-$17 a can at an automotive paint supplier.
  2. Fantastic build of one of my favorite cars. You've raised the bar with that one.
  3. Really nice job, love the stance. Nice clean detailing.
  4. Finally! I think it will only benefit American open wheel racing. I'm a big fan of ChampCar, IRL,and F1. My son and I have tickets to the IRL season opener at Homestead, right on the start finish line as well as paddock passes. We are really looking foward to the race, and being able to watch all my favorite drivers in one series.
  5. Over the past couple of weeks between clearance and 40% coupons, I have managed to pick up the AMT Cobra, 55 Cameo, and Revell 71 GTX all for $9 each. Not to bad, it beats $14,$15,or$16 a kit.
  6. Nice job, looks like that took quite a bit of work.
  7. Excellent Job! I'm looking foward to the finish. Nice stance/wheel combination. Thats a very original idea with the interior, nice work.
  8. Nice builds! You have quite a nice collection. I'm a BIG fan of F1 and all open wheel racing.
  9. I like the retro look, it suits both body styles.
  10. It was winter 1964-65. I was 7 years old. I remember sitting at the kitchen table with my dad, he was showing me how to put models together and letting me help as best I could. We were buiding them to display in my room. If I remember correctly the kits were large scale Aurora kits (1920's Olds, Stutz Bearcat,Model T, and a couple others). They were curbside kits, but they were really nice from what I recall. Then my dad, myself, and my younger brother put together all the Tom Daniel's cars- Tarantula, Red Baron, Uncertain T, Pie Wagon, etc. I still to this day love those kits, they were simple but were fun to build. From then on I was hooked. When ever I had some money for a kit I would go to the local Rexall drugstore and buy some kind of car model.
  11. Maybe this should be in Rants and Raves. But I can't help it! HOW ABOUT THOSE NY GIANTS! That was one heck of a game.

  13. I have built this kit a couple of times and I still have a couple of unbuilts in my collection. It is an old kit but a good one. I built one for my dad, as he had a baby blue 58 w/348 when I was a kid. I gave it to him one Fathers day as a gift, he was pleased and surprised. I really enjoyed building and BMFing that kit, it was a challenge but it came out nice. I have since bought Revell's version, it's looks to be pretty nice. It does seem a little toy like, maybe its because of the snap in chrome. I have seen someone in this forum build the new 58 , it looked really nice and he gave it favorable comments. I'm looking foward to building mine.
